Here we have brought you a rundown of 4 upcoming Maruti Suzuki SUVs that are expected to launch within the next 2 years in India

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, is gearing up for one of its busiest product cycles in recent years with SUVs all set to be the spearhead of its product plans considering their good reception in recent years. The company knows the segment has become the deciding factor for market share and several new utility vehicles are already under development as part of its rollout over the next two years.

A new compact SUV to strengthen its ICE portfolio, a fully electric midsize model to mark its EV entry, a bigger hybrid SUV and more are said to be waiting in the pipeline. Maruti Suzuki could look to cover all corners of the SUV space and here we have explained about four upcoming ones:

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki is closing in on the debut of its first all-electric SUV, the e-Vitara, which is set to hit showrooms in the coming months. The model has been engineered on the brand’s Heartect e platform and will be retailed solely through the premium Nexa network. It will also spawn a Toyota sibling in the form of the Urban Cruiser BEV.

Buyers can expect two battery configurations with rapid charging capability and a claimed driving range of well over 500 km on a single charge. The SUV will also feature latest equipment including a large touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, all-digital driver’s display, Level 2 ADAS and a full suite of connected technologies.

2. 7-Seater Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki is said to be weighing the idea of stretching the Grand Vitara into a three-row SUV for India – a move that would put it in the same league as the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. If given the green light, the longer version may surface within the next couple of years – building on the positive response for the existing Grand Vitara.

3. Maruti Suzuki Micro SUV:

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly developing an all-new micro SUV specifically for Indian buyers with a launch window pegged around late 2026 to early 2027. The model is expected to challenge established rivals such as the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Adding to its appeal, the compact SUV may be equipped with Maruti’s forthcoming in-house hybrid powertrain.

4. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid:

Spy shots suggest that Maruti Suzuki could be preparing to equip the Fronx with an electrified powertrain. The setup is expected to be derived from the Smart Hybrid system already offered on the export-spec Dzire which could give the crossover better fuel efficiency. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to bring in flex fuel iterations of existing vehicles starting next year.

Top 10 Sedans August 2025 – Dzire, Aura, Amaze, Virtus, Verna, City

GaadiWaadi -

New-2025-Maruti-Suzuki-Dzire-4.jpg

Maruti Suzuki Dzire continued to record the highest volumes in a month amongst sedan as it finished ahead of rivals Aura and Amaze in August 2025

Sedans may not command the same spotlight as SUVs anymore but the sales chart for August 2025 shows the segment is still breathing with decent volumes. A total of 28,451 units were dispatched last month compared to 24,738 units in August 2024 – registering double-digit growth despite headwinds.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire continues to hold an unshakable lead at the top. With 16,509 units in August, Maruti’s compact sedan outsold its rivals by a wide margin – recording a jump of over 5,800 units year-on-year. Introduced around a year ago, the new-gen Dzire has been well received by customers and the arrival of GST 2.0 price drops will only sweeten the deal.

Hyundai’s Aura, meanwhile, carried its momentum forward with 5,336 units. Compared to 4,304 cars the previous August, the model grew by more than a thousand units. The CNG-equipped trims and its long list of features are helping the Aura appeal to both fleet operators and private owners – keeping it comfortably in second place on the leaderboard.

For Honda, the Amaze, once a steady performer, dropped heavily to 1,753 units from 2,585 units a year ago despite the arrival of the new generation around the same time as the Dzire. The numbers led to a decline of over 32 per cent last month. The City too faced a tough run – managing only 437 units compared to 1,018 last year with a huge fall of more than 57 per cent.

In the midsize sedan category, the VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia faced small but notable dips. The Virtus closed August at 1,674 units – slightly down from 1,876 last year while the Slavia posted 1,008 units – just shy of the 1,122 mark it managed twelve months ago. Both remain competent offerings but their volumes show the uphill task sedans face in a market inclining hard toward SUVs.

The Hyundai Verna also took a beating – slipping to 771 units versus 1,194 during the corresponding period last year. The brand is currently working on a mid-life update for the midsize sedan. The Tata Tigor, in its ICE and EV forms, combined to record a domestic tally of 805 units last month – dropping from 1,148 a year earlier.

While Toyota’s Camry showed small but steady progress with 158 units, it was the only premium sedan to record a positive growth on a YoY basis. Two familiar names, the Maruti Ciaz and Skoda Superb, saw no dispatches at all. Skoda is currently planning to launch the Octavia RS in limited quantity soon in India.

Maruti Suzuki Surpasses VW & Ford In Market Cap, Now Among World’s Top 10 Carmakers

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti victoris (6)

Maruti Suzuki, India’s leading automaker, cracks the global top 10 by market value, dethroning prominent brands from North America and Europe

Riding strong tailwinds from a reduced GST, India’s leading automaker, is back in the news. The Indo-Japanese joint venture, best known for its sub-4 metre cars, has surpassed Volkswagen and Ford in market cap, becoming the world’s ninth-highest valued carmaker.

As of 29th September, Maruti Suzuki is valued at 5,03,044.12 crore (5.0 trillion) rupees, which converts to approximately 56.7 billion dollars. This puts it well above Ford, valued at 47.7 billion dollars, and also Volkswagen, valued at 46.2 billion euros (54.3 billion dollars).

Maruti Suzuki was already way ahead of Suzuki Motor Corporation, which owns a 58.19% stake in it. The latter, with a market cap of 4.26 trillion yen (28.7 billion dollars), ranks 17. Maruti Suzuki’s mainstay is sub-4 metre petrol cars with a 1.2-litre or smaller engine, so it is well-positioned to gain the most among all automakers from the government’s recently reduced GST on this category from 29% to 18%.

On 22nd September, the first day the new GST rates became effective, Maruti Suzuki received 80,000 enquires and has already delivered over 25,000 cars, said Partho Banerjee, the company’s Senior Executive Officer for Marketing and Sales. Navratri’s onset coinciding with this date has also led to a surge in demand, and with Diwali coming soon, the company looks poised for solid growth towards the end of the calendar year.

A wave of series-hybrid sub-4 metre segment cars with a 1.2-litre engine is set to arrive in Maruti Suzuki showrooms starting in 2026. Expected to deliver a fuel economy of as high as 35 km/l, these frugal small cars should help the company further strengthen its position in the small car space and sustain the momentum.

Simultaneously, the company is aggressively expanding its SUV line-up. Just earlier this month, it launched the Victoris, its new rival to Hyundai’s Creta, as its fifth SUV. Towards the end of the year, it will likely launch the e-Vitara as its first electric SUV.

Investors are taking note of Maruti Suzuki’s growing strength and the upside ahead. On 26th September, the company’s shares recorded a 52-week high, going up from 10,725 rupees to 16,435 rupees—a whopping 53.2% growth. Even the Nifty Auto index has not gone up at such a pace during this period (43.5%).

Bentley To Continue With ICE-Powered Successors Of Models

Bentley To Continue With ICE-Powered Successors Of Models, Diverting From Beyond100 Plan

Under its Beyond100 plan, Bentley aimed to end petrol engines by 2035. Significant changes are now underway for that vision. Volkswagen Group is shaping the future of Bentley’s model lineup with its renewed focus on internal combustion technology.

Porsche

Porsche announced an investment of 3.1 billion euros to extend the ICE models’ lifespans. This involves introducing new Boxster and Cayman generations. It also cancelled plans for its all-electric ‘K1’ flagship.

Audi

Audi scrapped its electric-only strategy in 2023. These group-level changes directly impact Bentley, which shares platforms and drivetrains with its siblings. Bentley must now reevaluate its powertrain mix.

Bentley

CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser confirmed new EVs and hybrids will still launch annually from 2026. The first model will be an urban SUV. However, petrol-powered models will remain important well into the next decade.

Successors to the Bentayga, Continental GT, and Flying Spur will continue offering petrol engines. These were initially expected only as hybrids or EVs. Strong demand from North America and the Middle East backs this decision.

Walliser noted luxury EV demand is weaker than expected. He stressed that Bentley must adapt to customer expectations. “Electrification is still our goal, but we need to take our customers with us,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bentley’s Crewe facility continues its transformation. A new EV assembly line, paint shop, and design centre are being developed. This ensures long-term readiness for electrification.

Outlook

Bentley already pushed its all-electric target from 2030 to 2035. Slowing luxury EV demand forced the change. Volkswagen Group’s ICE investments reinforce this decision for the coming decade.

Kawasaki KLX230 Receives Huge Price Cut – Now Priced At Rs. 1.84 Lakh

GaadiWaadi -

2026 Kawasaki KLX 230 1

Kawasaki KLX230 uses a 233 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 18.1 bhp and 18.3 Nm of torque

Kawasaki has slashed prices for its dual-sport duo, the KLX230 and KLX230R S, making them far more accessible than ever before. The standard KLX230 now carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 1.84 lakh with a reduction of Rs. 16,000 while the track-only KLX230R S has been reduced by Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 1.79 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom).

Both motorcycles fall under the reduced 18 per cent GST bracket – a notable drop from the earlier 28 per cent slab. Launched in India late last year at a hefty Rs. 3.30 lakh, the KLX230 initially raised eyebrows with its premium pricing. Recently, Kawasaki brought the price down significantly – over Rs. 1.3 lakh courtesy of local production.

The KLX230 comes with slightly shorter suspension travel front and rear, a single-channel ABS replacing the previous dual-channel system and refreshed body graphics compared to the model that was introduced earlier. Mechanically, the KLX230 sticks to its 233 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine – producing 18.1 bhp and 18.3 Nm of torque.

It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The suspension setup comprises telescopic forks at the front and a linked monoshock at the rear while stopping power comes courtesy of disc brakes at both ends. The direct rival to Hero Xpulse 210 gets wire-spoked wheels measuring 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear.

The adv’s design remains utilitarian featuring a minimalist fairing, high-set front fender, and a compact tail section. The long and flat seat supports off-road ergonomics allowing the rider to shift weight freely. With a seat height of 880 mm and a kerb weight of just 139 kg, the KLX230 is sold in two paint options in the domestic market.

The KLX230R S remains Kawasaki’s dedicated trail machine – available only in Lime Green shade. Not road-legal, it benefits from a lighter setup, 270 mm ground clearance and a 900 mm seat height. Suspension duties are handled by 37 mm front forks with 220 mm travel and a New Uni-Trak rear shock with 223 mm travel and preload adjustability.

Other highlights are a steel perimeter frame and 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with knobby tyres. Thanks to the second price drop, Kawasaki has positioned the KLX230 firmly against the Hero Xpulse 210 and more expensive KTM 250 Adventure and Suzuki V-Strom 250. It will be interesting to see how the market responds!

Honda-Shine-100-DX-2.jpg

Hero Splendor finished on top with Honda Activa and Shine, TVS Jupiter and Bajaj Pulsar covering the top five positions

The two-wheeler market continues to demonstrate its resilience with August 2025 showing impressive numbers. The latest sales figures highlight the models that continue to dominate the roads with Hero, Honda, Bajaj and TVS securing their places at the top of the charts. Together, the top ten accounted for over 12.5 lakh units with an 11 per cent year-on-year growth.

The Hero Splendor once again proved its undisputed dominance – topping the chart with 3,11,698 units sold. The commuter-friendly motorcycle gained nearly 9,000 units over last year’s tally – a testament to its reliability and value-for-money proposition. The Splendor has maintained its stronghold in different tiers – appealing to those looking for efficiency and affordability in a single package.

In second place, Honda’s Activa continued to lead the scooter segment with 2,44,271 units – recording an impressive growth of over 16,000 units. Its wide appeal across demographics, easy rideability and strong brand recall make it a no-brainer choice for many families and first-time buyers. It remains Honda’s volume driver – sustaining its grip on the highly competitive scooter space.

Interestingly, Honda’s Shine faced a dip – sliding by over 11,000 units compared to August 2024. Despite this decline, it held on to the third spot with 1,63,963 units. Positioned as a slightly premium commuter, the Shine continues to attract office-goers and city riders but rising competition in the 125 cc segment has dented its growth slightly this year.

One of the biggest success stories this month came from TVS with the Jupiter clocking 1,42,411 units – a massive 59 per cent jump year-on-year. The surge of over 53,000 units shows how TVS has managed to garner more market share in the family scooter category. Similarly, Bajaj’s Pulsar lineup delivered good numbers – posting 1,09,382 units with a steep 61 per cent rise from last year.

The TVS Apache series also had a strong showing – selling 45,038 units against 30,038 during the same period last year. Its 50 per cent growth underlines its popularity among performance-oriented riders. Meanwhile, HF Deluxe and Access contributed steady numbers amidst Suzuki’s Access registering a marginal dip last month.

The remaining months of this year as well as September will see more customers flocking in courtesy of the festive season demand and the massive price reductions seen across the board due to GST 2.0 tax structure.

Upcoming Under Rs. 10 Lakh Tata SUVs You Should Know About – Key Info

GaadiWaadi -

Tata HBX Hornbill all colours 3

Here we have listed the upcoming Tata SUVs in the compact space that are expected to launch over the next couple of years

Tata Motors is working on an intense product phase over the next few years as it plans to introduce close to 30 new passenger vehicles. The roadmap features entirely new models with major updates to existing ones. On top of that, the company is clearly accelerating its attention on bringing in new electric offerings.

Among Tata’s upcoming introductions, seven will be entirely new nameplates across various segments and price points. The revival of the Sierra, the arrival of the Avinya electric range and a compact SUV rumoured to be called Scarlet are said to be in the pipeline. Attention is particularly focused on the sub-four-metre models which we are focussing here:

Tata is said to be pushing ahead with the third generation Nexon, internally referred to as Garud. The forthcoming SUV is expected to use a significantly revised X1 platform which should enhance ride quality and handling compared with the current model. In addition to the platform upgrades, the Nexon will more likely receive a comprehensive redesign – both inside the cabin and across its exterior styling.

The next-gen SUV could sport a more expressive exterior design while the interior should see noticeable improvements in materials, layout and features. Buyers can expect new equipment including Level 2 ADAS alongside significant upgrades to the infotainment system and instrument cluster. The launch in India, however, may still be a few years down the line.

Over the past few months, Tata’s Punch has been spotted in heavy disguise multiple times – hinting at a mid-life refresh in the works. The micro SUV is expected to get a sleeker exterior look and a more premium set of features to keep it competitive and sustain strong sales in India’s entry-level SUV segment.

Much of what’s coming to the facelifted Punch appears to draw inspiration from the Punch EV. The updated petrol version could reach showrooms before the end of the year while Tata is also reportedly planning a refreshed Punch EV for 2026 – keeping one of India’s top-selling electric cars competitive in a rapidly growing marketplace.

Tata is reportedly preparing a new compact SUV tentatively called Scarlet. Early reports suggest it will borrow design cues from the upcoming Sierra with boxy proportions and tall pillars to maximise cabin space. The Scarlet is expected to target the fast-growing compact SUV segment.
