The sedan segment will see plenty of action in the coming months and here we have explained about the new arrivals across segments
Although SUVs and crossovers continue to dominate overall sales charts, the sedan segment is looking for a slew of activity in the near future. Automakers including Skoda, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Honda and Mercedes-Benz are lining up new introductions and updates. Here’s a quick overview of the upcoming sedans set to arrive in the coming months.
1. Hyundai Verna Facelift:
Hyundai is preparing a mid-cycle update for the Verna and is expected to debut in the coming months. The cabin will likely receive a major upgrade first and foremost with a modern curved twin-screen setup similar to that seen in the brand’s latest global models – complemented by a redesigned steering wheel and improved material quality. On the outside, spy shots indicate a revised front fascia while changes to the rear are also on the cards.

2. Mercedes-Benz CLA EV:

Mercedes-Benz has announced that the all-electric CLA will make its India debut in a couple of months. Pricing is expected to hover around Rs 62 lakh (ex-showroom) and the India-spec model is speculated to mirror the CLA 250+ sold overseas drawing power from an 85 kWh battery pack. The electric sedan is claimed to deliver a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 792 km on a single charge.
3. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift:
A mid-life refresh for the Volkswagen Virtus is on the cards this year with the sedan set to gain subtle exterior tweaks along with an upgraded interior loaded with additional equipment. The updates are expected to closely follow the enhancements planned for the forthcoming Taigun facelift. Under the hood, however, major changes are unlikely, as the Virtus should continue with the familiar 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engines. Transmission choices are tipped to retain the dual-clutch automatic while an 8-speed torque converter automatic could also join the range.

4. New Skoda Slavia:
The Skoda Slavia, which shares its underpinnings with the Virtus, is also lined up for a mid-life refresh in 2026. The update is expected to introduce styling tweaks at both ends featuring a reworked front profile and subtle changes to the rear design. Inside, the cabin could draw inspiration from the recently refreshed Kushaq. On the mechanical front, major alterations are unlikely but it may receive a new torque converter automatic gearbox as well.
5. New Honda City:

Honda is preparing to bring in a host of revisions for the City in the latter half of 2026. Although it already underwent a facelift in 2023, the upcoming round of enhancements will involve exterior tweaks. Inside the cabin, the updates are expected to include refreshed upholstery, revised trim elements and the addition of select new features.
6. Skoda Octavia RS:

Following an extraordinary reception from performance car buyers in India, Skoda is preparing to introduce another lot of the Octavia RS towards the end of 2026. The sporty sedan, which returned to the market in 2025 as a strictly limited allocation model, immediately resonated with driving enthusiasts across the country. With only 100 examples set for India, the entire consignment was snapped up within minutes prompting the Czech brand to plan a new batch in response.
