Tata Aeris Compact Sedan Teased Again Ahead Of Launch On Sep 25

The new teaser of Tata Aeris reveals sleeker headlamps with LED DRLs, new U-shaped alloy wheels, revised LED tail lamps and Aeris badging at the rear

Tata Motors has released another teaser of the Aeris ahead of its launch on September 25 as it reveals more of the production-spec exterior. The video preview shows sleeker headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, new U-shaped alloy wheels, revised LED tail lamps and Aeris lettering at the rear. The new nameplate is set to take Tata’s compact sedan line into its next iteration with petrol, CNG and electric versions expected to stay part of the range.

The front end gets one of the comprehensive visual changes. The Aeris gains slimmer headlamps with integrated DRLs in place of the larger units seen on the current Tigor. Earlier teasers had already shown a redesigned nose with a larger lower intake and revised bumper treatment.

The rear also gets a redesign. Aeris lettering stretches across the tailgate and the new teaser shows revised LED tail lamps with a sharper internal signature. Earlier previews pointed to changes around the boot lid and rear bumper as well. The new U-shaped alloy wheels add another visual difference and should feature on the more expensive variants.

The cabin is expected to receive a major overhaul. Speculations point to a redesigned dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a revised digital instrument display. Tata could also introduce a new steering wheel, updated centre-console layout and additional equipment from its latest models.

The petrol-powered Aeris is expected to retain Tata’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron engine. The current unit produces around 86 PS and 113 Nm and comes with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options. A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected to stay in the lineup and no major engine revision has been indicated so far.

Tata Aeris Teased Alloy Wheels

An electric version could also arrive alongside the ICE derivatives. The current Tigor EV uses a 26 kWh battery pack and a 55 kW electric motor with 170 Nm. Its certified range extends up to 315 km based on specification. We can expect a larger battery with improved driving range on a single charge in the facelifted Tigor which has been rebranded as the Aeris.
