Over the next year and a half, the SUV segment is heating up for the arrival of a number of new models. Big names like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra and Tata are all prepping brand new offerings to take on the competition. Here’s a quick look at the upcoming models:
1&2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara & 5-Seater SUV:

Maruti Suzuki is said to be working on a brand new five-seater SUV that will slot beneath the Grand Vitara and it will be sold through the Arena dealerships. It will be slightly longer than its midsize sibling and will feature 1.5L mild hybrid and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines. The e Vitara is all set to arrive this festive season with a range of more than 500 km as well.
3. Hyundai Venue New Gen:

Spotted testing multiple times on public roads, the second generation Hyundai Venue will feature exterior and interior updates while the equipment list will also see significant inclusions. The existing 1.2L NA petrol, the 1.0L turbo petrol and the 1.5L diesel mill will be retained.
4,5,6,7&8. Tata Harrier EV, new Sierra ICE & EV, Harrier & Safari Petrol:
On June 3, Tata will officially launch the Harrier EV in two battery configurations with e-AWD system in the top-end variants. It will boast a claimed range of over 500 km per charge. The much-anticipated 1.5L GDi petrol engine is set to debut in the Harrier and Safari before this fiscal year closes.

Delivering 168 PS and 280 Nm, this turbocharged unit will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Additionally, plans to revive the Sierra nameplate in both internal combustion and electric versions are underway this FY.

9,10&11. New Mahindra XUV700, XUV3XO EV & XEV 7e:

Mahindra plans a mid-cycle refresh for the XUV700 which will reportedly arrive in 2026. Expect modest design tweaks on the outside and inside, coupled with potential feature enhancements to maintain the SUV’s competitiveness within its segment. However, the powerful petrol and diesel engines will likely continue in their duties. The electric version of the XUV 3XO and the XUV700-based XEV 7e based on the INGLO platform are also in the works.
