Tesla Model Y Vs Kia EV6

Tesla Model Y Long-Range finds a worthy rival in the form of the Kia EV6 GT-Line as both the models fall in the same price ballpark

Tesla finally made its prolonged entry in the Indian market with the launch of the Model Y. The electric SUV has been brought to our country via the CBU route as it is imported from the company’s factory in China. Tesla also inaugurated its first dealership in India in Mumbai, which will be followed by one more showroom in Delhi-NCR region.

Being the American EV brand’s first-ever vehicle in India, Tesla Model Y is offered in two trims namely Standard RWD and Long Range RWD. The latter will directly lock horns with the Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD in the Indian market. Below is a detailed comparison between the two all-electric SUVs.

Tesla Model Y Long-Range RWD vs Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD: Price

The Long-Range RWD variant in the Tesla Model Y line-up is priced at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) in the country. On the other hand, the Kia EV6 GT-Line AWD comes at a sticker price of Rs 65.97 lakh (ex-showroom) in the domestic market. So as far as pricing is concerned, both the all-electric SUVs are almost at par as the price gap is even less than Rs 2 lakh.

Tata Nexon & Punch Contribute Nearly 60% Of Total Sales In June

GaadiWaadi -

tata Nexon SUV

The affordable and value-for-money sub-4 metre SUV models, Nexon and Punch, continue holding the top two positions at Tata Motors in June 2025

Tata Motors’ smallest SUVs are among the biggest contributors to its sales in India. Last month, the Tata Nexon and Tata Punch together made up nearly 60% of the company’s total domestic sales. Offering a wide line-up of eight models, Tata Motors sold 37,083 cars in India in June 2025, 15% lower than in June 2024 (43,527 units). The Tata Nexon was the brand’s most popular last month, registering 11,602 units in sales. Compared to the same month last year (June 2024: 12,066 units), its sales were 4% down.

The Tata Punch wasn’t far behind the Tata Nexon in June 2025, contributing 10,446 units to the company’s monthly sales. However, its sales performance has considerably worsened over the last year. Compared to 18,238 units delivered in June 2024, its sales were 43% lower last month.

The Tata Nexon and Tata Punch together contributed 22,048 units or 59% to Tata Motors’ passenger car sales in June 2025. The other six models in the company’s line-up performed nowhere close to these models. For instance, the third-highest selling model was the Tiago, which saw sales of just 6,032 units. That said, the entry-level hatchback saw a 17% uptick year-over-year (June 2024: 5,174 units), which could be attributed to its cosmetic refresh in January.

The Tata Altroz, which received a facelift just back in May, saw a marginal improvement in sales last month. The premium hatchback contributed 3,974 units to the company’s sales and recorded a 1% increment over June 2024 (3,937 units). The new model’s sales could grow considerably in the coming months as availability normalises across India.

The Tata Curvv is a derivative of the Tata Nexon, but its offbeat body style means it’s not nearly as popular in the market. Tata Motors delivered just 2,060 units of the SUV-coupe last month, just about 18% of its conventionally styled donor model.

The Tata Harrier and Tata Safari, both based on a modified version of JLR’s D8 platform, contributed 1,259 and 922 units to the company’s sales in June 2025. The five-seater recorded a 7% year-over-year decline (June 2024: 1,347 units), while the three-row model witnessed a far steeper, 34% decline in year-over-year sales (June 2024: 1,394 units). Tata Motors’ worst-performing model in India last month was the Tigor. The company delivered just 788 units of the sub-4 metre sedan in June 2025, 43% lower than in the same month last year (1,371 units).

Renault-Nissan June 2025 Sales Analysis – Magnite, Kiger, Triber, Kwid

GaadiWaadi -

Renault Kiger Front 3 Quarters

Both Renault and Nissan posted sales declines in June 2025 as the former garnered a total of 2,625 units and the latter 1,313 units

Renault India ended the month of June 2025 with 2,625 units sold across its three-model range. While the figure represented a 26 per cent drop compared to the same month last year, the brand managed a modest five per cent gain over May volumes. At the top of Renault’s sales chart sat the Triber. With just 1,421 units dispatched, its year-on-year volume slipped by 21 per cent.

But monthly figures moved up by one per cent. The Kiger followed with 755 units – down 34 per cent from June 2024 though a sharp 37 per cent rise over May’s numbers provided some relief. The Kwid, meanwhile, logged 449 units last month – a 26 per cent YoY decline and a 17 per cent fall versus the previous month of May 2025 in the domestic market.

Nissan’s showing for June proved even more challenging. The Japanese brand closed the month with a total of 1,313 units – a 38 per cent drop compared to June last year and down three per cent from May 2025. The entire figure came from the Magnite which managed 1,313 units – declining by 38 per cent YoY and two per cent MoM.

Nissan Magnite 1,313 2,107 -38%
Nissan X-Trail 0 0%
Total 1,313 2,107 -38%

The X-Trail did not contribute, marking zero dispatches in June following 20 units sold in May. As part of making a comeback, Nissan officially laid out its short term product roadmap for India a while ago – confirming four new models across different segments. The upcoming launches include an A-segment electric vehicle, a B-segment multipurpose vehicle, a C-segment SUV and a larger three-row premium SUV positioned higher up the range.

Renault, on the other hand, is preparing to bring back one of its most recognisable nameplates. The next-generation Duster, along with a new three-row derivative based on the same platform, will mark the brand’s return to the midsize SUV space. The latter made its global debut recently and it could carry the same Boreal moniker in India too.

Speculations indicate that the third generation Duster, its Nissan counterpart and their seven-seater siblings may adapt a hybrid powertrain but no official confirmation has been made yet. The updated versions of the Kiger and Triber are also under development.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Revealed At Goodwood Festival Of Speed, Offers Daily Drivability & Enthusiastic Driving Character

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N made its global debut at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. Hyundai’s N sub-brand introduces its second high-performance EV, following the Ioniq 5 N. The Ioniq 6 N is designed to blend daily usability with track-ready performance.

Styling

Exterior styling includes aggressive bumpers, a rear diffuser, and flared fenders. Dual spoilers and gloss-black accents enhance its sporty, aerodynamic profile. Lightweight 20-inch wheels reduce unsprung mass for better handling.

Powertrain

A dual-motor setup paired with an 84 kWh battery powers the Ioniq 6 N. It produces 601 HP and 740 Nm of torque in standard mode. N Grin Boost increases power temporarily to 641 HP and 770 Nm for 10 seconds.

Battery Performance & Range

Acceleration is sharp, with a 0–100 km/hr time of just 3.2 seconds. That’s slightly faster than the already potent Ioniq 5 N. Hyundai electronically limits the top speed to 257 km/hr.

Improved thermal management and advanced battery cooling systems handle heat during performance driving. The N Battery Pre-conditioning system optimises cell temperatures for maximum output. These upgrades ensure consistent performance during repeated high-speed runs.

Range is expected to be around 448 km, similar to the Ioniq 5 N. The 800-volt electrical architecture supports fast charging. Charging from 10% to 80% takes around 18 minutes.

Suspension

Adaptive dampers and a limited-slip rear differential provide sharp handling. The Ioniq 6 N also features a stiffer chassis for better cornering control. Hyundai claims to offer “corner rascal” behaviour with true racetrack capability.

Interior

Inside, the cabin includes sport seats, N-specific trim, and a performance-tuned steering wheel. N Active Sound+ simulates engine noise through speakers to heighten excitement. e-Shift emulates gear changes for a more engaging EV experience.

Market Positioning & Competition

The Ioniq 6 N targets buyers seeking performance without sacrificing practicality or comfort. It will be priced under USD 70,000 globally. Hyundai positions it against rivals such as the Tesla Model 3 Performance and BMW i4 M50.

Outlook

With thrilling performance and everyday usability, the Ioniq 6 N represents Hyundai’s push into premium EV performance. It is both a statement and a serious competitor. We expect Hyundai to announce availability details and final pricing soon.

Kia Carens Clavis EV Vs BYD eMax 7 (2)

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is India’s first mass-market 7-seater electric model below the Rs 20 lakh price point

Kia India has finally launched the Carens Clavis EV in the domestic market. The all-electric MPV has been presented only in a 7-seater configuration with multiple battery options. The South-Korean automaker claims that the owners of the Clavis EV will have access to 11,000+ charging points across the nation through the MyKia app. Being the brand’s first mass-market in India, it will have direct competition with BYD eMax 7 in the country. Lets talk about these electric MPV models in detail with respect to their price, variants, colours, battery and range.

Kia Carens Clavis EV vs BYD eMax 7: Price and Variants

Kia Carens EV is available in a total of four variants namely HTK+, HTX, ER HTX, and ER HTX+ while priced between Rs 17.99-24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the BYD eMax 7 comes in two trims namely Premium and Superior in both 6-seater and 7-seater layouts which are priced in a bracket of Rs 26.90-29.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Hence, it is quite evident that the Carens EV is relatively affordable by at least Rs 6-8 lakh than its Chinese foe.

The Carens Clavis EV is offered in six single-tone colours namely Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Gray, Aurora Black Pearl, Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, and Ivory Silver Matte. As for the BYD eMax 7, it can be availed in four mono-tone paint schemes namely Quartz Blue, Cosmos Black, Crystal White and Harbour Grey. Here too, the all-electric MPV from Kia has more options for the buyers than the BYD eMax 7.

Kia Carens Clavis EV vs BYD eMax 7: Battery and Performance

The Carens Clavis EV borrows both the lithium-ion battery packs of 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh from the Hyundai Creta. While the smaller 42 kWh battery is paired to an electric motor with power output of 133 bhp, the bigger 51.4 kWh battery is coupled with an electric motor, belting out top power of 169 bhp. The torque performance for all the variants remains the same at 255 Nm.

However, the torque value is identical for both the battery packs at 310 Nm. It is quite clear from this data that the eMax 7 benefits from the larger battery pack and delivers superior performance than the Carens EV.

Kia Carens Clavis EV vs BYD eMax 7: Driving Range

The Carens Clavis EV returns ARAI-certified MIDC driving range of 404 km and 490 km with the 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, respectively, on a full charge. As for the BYD eMax 7, it delivers a range of 420 km and 530 km with the 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh batteries, respectively, on a single charge as per the NEDC cycle.

Ola Roadster X 4.5 kWh Detailed 100-0% Range Test & Review

GaadiWaadi -

Ola-Roadster-X-4.5-kWh-Delivery-Begins-Across-India-2.jpg

Ola Roadster X 4.5 kWh variant boasts a top speed of 125 kmph, a claimed range of 252 km on a single charge and 0-40 kmph in just 2.7 seconds

Recently, Ola Electric commenced customer deliveries of the Roadster X series across the country and now the hand overs of the 4.5 kWh variant have also begun. The electric motorcycle series is priced from Rs. 99,999 and goes all the way up to Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom). The more versatile X range is available in 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 4.5 kWh versions with the prices topping at Rs. 1,24,999 (ex-showroom).

Meanwhile, the Roadster X+ can be bought with either a 4.5 kWh battery or a larger 9.1 kWh unit which is claimed to deliver an IDC range of just over 500 km between charges. We purchased the Roadster X 4.5 kWh as a giveaway motorcycle celebrating our Youtube channel reaching a million subscribers and how to win it can be learned on our social media platforms.

Apparently, we took it for a spin to see what it is capable of as the Roadster X 4.5 kWh boasts an impressive list of features for its price and on paper, it does appear to be a tempting deal. In the link below, you can witness our comprehensive ride review and range test as the battery replenished from 100 per cent to 0 per cent before the motorcycle came to a halt.

The equipment list composes cruise control, reverse mode, three ride modes (Eco, Normal and Sport), brake by wire technology, regenerative braking, LED headlamp, a single-channel ABS system, MoveOS 5 and more. As for the performance, an IP67-rated 4.5 kWh battery pack is positioned underneath the traditional tank and the ergonomics is, as you might expect, relaxed, replicating 125-150 cc commuters.

It is claimed to do 252 km on a single charge but the reality is different as you can see in the video. The Roadster X platform combines a centrally placed 11 kW electric motor with a chain-driven setup – working alongside an integrated motor control unit that manages torque delivery. The layout is intended to balance quick acceleration with efficient energy usage.

Ola-Roadster-X-Roadster-X-2.jpg

In a move not typically seen on motorcycles, the system adopts flat-format wiring looms. According to Ola, this configuration cuts down on heat generation, reduces weight and allows for better internal packaging.
