Toyota Pushes Up Prices For Innova, Taisor & Rumion Up To Rs. 26,000

GaadiWaadi -

2023 Toyota Innova Crysta new top end variants launched

Toyota Innova Crysta has its VX and ZX variants’ prices hiked by Rs. 26,000 while the Taisor and Rumion have also endured noticeable jumps

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced a round of price increases across three vehicles in its portfolio this month. The Urban Cruiser Taisor, Rumion and Innova Crysta are the nameplates impacted with each model receiving a variant-wide flat increase instead of trim-specific adjustments on the back of the brand posting good sales numbers in recent times.

The Taisor sees the smallest bump among the three. Across all its variants – E, S, S Plus, G and V – prices have gone up by Rs. 2,500. The compact SUV continues to be available with a 1.2L petrol engine, paired with manual, AMT or torque converter automatic transmission options. The updated pricing now opens at Rs. 7.77 lakh and stretches to Rs. 13.07 lakh (ex-showroom) fort the top-spec trim.

In April 2024, Toyota introduced the Taisor as its most affordable SUV offering positioned below the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is nothing but the badge engineered version of the well received Maruti Suzuki Fronx. Back to the price hike, Toyota’s entry-level MPV, based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has received a jump of Rs. 12,500 across its range.

Offered in S, G and V trims, it is also available in both petrol and CNG variants. Following the price increase, the Rumion carries a starting price tag of Rs. 10.66 lakh and it go up to Rs. 13.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The Rumion made its local debut in August 2023 and is currently slotted below the Innova range which comprises the Innova Crysta and the Innova Hycross.

Topping the price revision exercise this time is the Innova Crysta which has endured the most significant hike. Every VX and ZX variant – irrespective of seat layout (7-seater or 8-seater) – is now dearer by Rs. 26,000. The model’s revised price band now starts at Rs. 19.99 lakh and climbs to Rs. 27.08 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Crysta still attracts buyers despite the presence of the more advanced and hybridised Innova Hycross since December 2022. The pricing changes introduced in July 2025 follow a strategy increasingly visible across the automotive industry where cumulative cost pressures are beginning to find their way into retail pricing.

Hero-HF-Deluxe-Pro.jpg

Hero introduces HF Deluxe Pro with updated technology, LED lighting at the front and a digital instrument console with low fuel indicator

Hero MotoCorp has added a new variant to its HF Deluxe commuter lineup with the introduction of the HF Deluxe Pro in the domestic market. The entry-level motorcycle comes with a handful of upgrades to a nameplate that continues to serve buyers looking for an everyday commuter with good fuel efficiency and low cost of maintenance.

At Rs. 73,550 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Hero HF Deluxe Pro is differentiated from its siblings with a subtly enhanced visual treatment, digital instrumentation and LED lighting. The new body graphics brings a refreshed design appeal with chrome touches contributing to a slightly more premium stance. In addition, a segment-first LED headlamp sits at the front framed by a high-intensity position lamp styled into a crown-like shape.

The homegrown manufacturer has also moved to a digital instrument cluster for this variant – offering a cleaner layout and a real-time display of basic vehicle metrics. One of the small but practical additions is a low fuel indicator built into the speedometer – useful in city traffic and extended commutes alike. Under the skin, the mechanicals stay largely unchanged.

Upcoming New Maruti Suzuki SUV (Creta Rival) – What We Know So Far

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti-Suzuki-Escudo-Spied-1.jpg

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki midsize SUV will be directly aimed at Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos while slotted between the Brezza and Grand Vitara

Maruti Suzuki has announced the launch of a new midsize SUV on Sep 3, 2025 in the Indian market. It has been learnt that the upcoming Maruti SUV, internally codenamed as Y17, could be christened as ‘Escudo’ while sold through the regular Arena dealerships. It will be at loggerheads with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the domestic market. The Escudo SUV has been spotted as a test mule multiple times and the spy images indicate that it will be bigger in size than the Brezza. Let’s talk about Maruti’s Creta rival in detail.

Maruti Escudo will sit on the same platform as the Grand Vitara. In fact, not just the architecture, it will also share powertrains with the brand’s flagship SUV. The Grand Vitara is offered with a naturally-aspirated 1.5L petrol engine in strong hybrid and non-hybrid versions. The Escudo is likely to be introduced with both these powertrain options.

As far as the dimensions are concerned, the Escudo could be even longer than the Grand Vitara (4345 mm), leave alone the Brezza. The upcoming Maruti SUV could measure between 4330-4370 mm in length. Several media reports suggest that it could also have a bigger boot capacity than the Grand Vitara’s 373 litres trunk space.

Maruti Suzuki Escudo Spied

Initially, the Escudo was conceived as a three-row model with seating capacity of seven occupants and the media had fondly named it as Grand Vitara 7-seater. However, Maruti later changed this in favour of a 5-seater midsize SUV with strong focus on affordability, which could be one of the reasons behind retailing it through the Arena showrooms.

The Maruti Escudo will be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. There is no word on the pricing yet, but we expect the SUV to get a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) while going as high as Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the range-topping fully-loaded strong hybrid variant. Maruti Escudo price will overlap with the Grand Vitara.

The bookings of the Escudo are expected to commence in the next few days while the series production of the SUV has already commenced to ensure a low waiting period. It is still not clear whether it will also have a Toyota sibling akin to multiple other Maruti models like the Baleno, Ertiga and Fronx. Stay tuned to this space for more updates on Maruti Escudo.
