Hyundai Model Wise Sales Sep 2025 – Creta, Venue, Aura, Exter, Alcazar

GaadiWaadi -

Hyundai Creta (1)

The SUV duo of Creta and Venue brought in amazing sales numbers for Hyundai in Sep 2025 but despite that, it had to settle for the fourth position behind Tata & Mahindra

Hyundai India slipped to the fourth position in Sep 2025 monthly sales despite retailing more than 50k units in the domestic market. The second spot earlier occupied by the South-Korean brand was bagged by Tata Motors while Mahindra clinched the third position with the difference of just 3k units. Hyundai has held the second position for the longest period of time in the past. However, things have changed significantly in the last 12-15 months, as the second spot has been constantly changing hands between Tata, Mahindra and Hyundai.

Hyundai retailed a total of 51,547 units in Sep 2025 as compared to 51,101 units during the same month last year. More or less, the sales numbers remained the same as 1 percent YoY growth was recorded. As has been the norm for the last few years, Hyundai Creta spearheaded the brand’s sales chart last month with a total of 18,861 units as compared to 15,902 units in Sep 2024 with a YoY growth of 19 percent.

The recent cut in GST rates heavily favoured Hyundai Venue with prices being reduced by up to Rs 1.50 lakh, depending on the variant. It resulted in a phenomenal rise in the SUV’s sales volumes which went up to 11,484 units against the 8,109 units sold in Aug 2024. Hyundai is offering massive festive season discounts on the purchase of the Venue in order to clear the existing stock as the new-gen Venue is all set to go on sale from Nov 4 in the country.

The third biggest gainer for Hyundai post the 2025 GST reforms was the Aura sedan with YoY growth of 21 percent. The company sold 5,387 units of the Aura last month as compared to 4,462 units in Sep 2024. Several other popular Hyundai cars such as the Exter, Grand i10 and i20 witnessed steep declines of 18 percent, 17 percent and 12 percent, respectively, in YoY sales numbers.

The YoY sales of Verna and Alcazar dropped by 39 percent and 54 percent, respectively. In fact, it was the third month on the trot for Verna with just triple digit sales volumes. However, the Alcazar showed a few signs of revival as the MoM sales increased by 4 percent. For reference, Hyundai sold 1,234 units of the SUV last month as compared to 1,187 units in Aug 2025.

Lastly, the Tucson and Ioniq 5 sales numbers for Sep 2025 stood at 85 units and 6 units, respectively. The YoY sales dipped by 13 percent and 81 percent as Hyundai had sold 98 units and 31 units of the Tucson and Ioniq 5, respectively, in Sep 2024. Just so you know, Hyundai is all set to introduce the facelifted version of the Ioniq 5 with longer driving range in early 2026 in India.

In all, despite the recent GST cuts and festive season benefits, Hyundai was dethroned from the second position by desi giants namely Mahindra and Tata. However, the Korean brand has lined-up a plethora of new models in the coming few months, which could help it in reclaiming the second position in the Indian automobile industry, which it has clinged on to for the longest period of time.

Top 10 Midsize SUVs Sep 2025 – Creta, Scorpio, XUV700, Hyryder, Victoris

GaadiWaadi -

maruti suzuki victoris 2

In the table of top 10 midsize SUVs in September 2025, Hyundai Creta continued to lead ahead of Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV700

The range of midsize SUVs continues to be the flag-bearer in the premium space in India’s passenger vehicle market and last month was another auspicious one for the segment. The Hyundai Creta retained its iron grip at the top while Mahindra Scorpio and XUV700 kept the heat on. The Toyota Hyryder and Tata Harrier, meanwhile, posted strong double- and triple-digit growth respectively.

The Creta remained the undisputed leader clocking 18,861 units in September with a healthy 19 per cent jump over last year’s tally of 15,862 units and it was the second most sold SUV in the country following the Tata Nexon. Most of the SUVs in the list benefitted from the commencement of festive season and tempting price drops courtesy of the GST 2.0 tax regime.

Close on its tail, Mahindra’s Scorpio line including both the Classic and N variants took second place with 18,372 units – up 27 per cent year-on-year. In the third position, Mahindra XUV700 continued its strong run with 9,764 units – posting a marginal 1 per cent growth over last year. The Toyota Hyryder surged ahead in the fourth position with 7,608 unit sales – up 41 per cent from last year, thanks to its hybrid powertrain.

The Kia Seltos followed in the fifth position with a domestic tally of 5,816 units – down 16 per cent as new competitors chipped away at its market share. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara slid to sixth with 5,698 units – a notable 45 per cent decline year-on-year. However, the spotlight was on its new sibling  – the Maruti Suzuki Victoris – which debuted with 4,261 units in its very first month.

Tata Motors had a particularly strong showing. The Harrier saw a massive 161 per cent jump – rising to 4,181 units from just 1,600 last year, bolstered by its expansive range and the arrival of the electric version. The Safari, too, grew 22 per cent to 2,000 units. Rounding off the top 10, Honda’s Elevate stayed steady with 2,199 units – up 12 per cent year-on-year.

Mahindra BE6 Rall-E Spotted Testing – Launch Likely Next Year

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra BE6 Rall-E

The recent sighting of the rugged Rall-E version of the BE6 electric SUV suggests that the launch is around the corner

Mahindra & Mahindra is working on multiple new electric SUVs for the Indian market, including the XUV3XO EV and XEV 7e. In line with this, the test mule of a rugged off-road oriented version of the BE6 electric SUV was recently spotted, which will likely go by the name BE6 Rall-E.

The Rall-E version of the BE6 was showcased in concept form back in 2023 and was also on display at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo. While the test prototype was heavily camouflaged, it appeared product-ready.

The launch timeline of Mahindra’s upcoming rugged electric SUV is not clear; however, the frequent test mule spottings hint at an imminent market debut, probably sometime next year. In addition to the BE6 Rall-E, the Indian SUV manufacturer is also working on the XUV3XO EV and XEV 7e 7-seater electric SUV, both of which are also expected to go on sale in 2026.

Mahindra BE6 Rall-E (2)

Talking about the details of the BE6 Rall-E test mule, the overall design language is the same as the regular BE6, albeit with some minor changes. It gets a round headlamp setup upfront, the same unit seen on the concept version, which is different from what we get in the regular model. A roof carrier and off-road spec tyres can also be seen in the spy images.

Apart from this, the front and rear bumpers seem to be new, which are most likely designed to suit the SUV’s off-road credentials. We could also spot green decals, black wheel arch cladding and steel wheels on the test prototype. The interiors of the BE6 Rall-E are under wraps, however, we expect only some minor variations as compared to the regular model.

Mahindra BE6 Rall-E (1)

The Mahindra BE6 Rall-E is expected to get an upgraded powertrain setup. The larger 79 kWh battery could be offered as standard with the rugged electric SUV. We also expect it to get a dual motor setup, channelling power to all four wheels.

The combined output from the dual electric motors will likely be around 389 bhp and 480 Nm of peak torque, however, nothing can be confirmed as of now. It might use a smart off-road electronic suit to control the power distribution to the front and rear axles, giving it the required off-road capabilities.

ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), a safety feature which was once limited to the premium segment, is now available in a lot of mass-market cars. In fact, it has become an important selling point for four-wheelers in India. The two-wheeler market, on the other hand, mostly relies on simpler safety features like traction control and ABS. The Dzire was its most popular car last month, contributing 20,038 units. The sub-4 metre sedan also posted the highest year-over-year growth – 85%. Electric Car Sales More Than Double In September 2025 – Here’s Why!

GaadiWaadi -

MG-Windsor-EV-1.jpg

Electric car sales crossed 15,000 units in September 2025 as it more than doubled last year’s tally courtesy of festive season

Last month was a certain turning point for India’s electric vehicle industry as the arrival of added discounts and the festive season had combined to record impressive sales tally as expected. Passenger vehicles and two-wheelers alike registered huge growth – indicating that EVs are moving beyond early adopters into the mainstream.

In the passenger EV space, total volume sales crossed 15,000 units as it more than doubled last year’s tally. Tata Motors led from the front by recording a total of 6,216 units with a massive 62 per cent jump over the same period twelve months ago. Its Nexon EV and Punch EV have been the major contributors and the nameplates sat on top of PV sales charts as well.

JSW MG Motor emerged with a total sales reaching 3,912 units – over three times last year’s performance. The Windsor EV has been well received by consumers since its market launch and over the last several months, it has had a commanding lead at the top. Mahindra & Mahindra recorded 3,243 units – skyrocketing from just 475 units last year.

The born electric range comprising the XEV 9e and BE 6 have garnered good sales as expected since their launch. Smaller but notable players like BYD India, Kia, Hyundai, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Tesla in the EV space have contributed as well. Their presence is important for the premium segment – giving buyers more choice and gradually setting higher benchmarks.

Two-wheelers continue to lead EV adoption in numbers. Retail sales reached 1,04,220 units – up 15 per cent when compared to the corresponding month last year. TVS Motor Company topped the charts with 22,509 units and it was closely followed by Bajaj Auto at 19,580 units. Ather Energy, Ola Electric and Hero MotoCorp together contributed a significant chunk of the market as well.
