New Gen Tata Sierra To Arrive In The Coming Months – All Vital Info

GaadiWaadi -

Upcoming-tata-Sierra.jpg

New Gen Tata Sierra will be sold in both electric and IC-engined guises upon launch in the coming months in India

Tata Motors’ upcoming Sierra has been caught testing extensively across diverse road and off-road conditions. Originally showcased as a concept and later as a near-production prototype, the Sierra has steadily evolved from a design study into a full-fledged product, ready to hit the market in the coming months.

Although Tata Motors has yet to confirm an official launch schedule, the Sierra is widely expected to hit showrooms within the next three to four months. The company could wrap up the year with another major introduction – likely the petrol-powered variants of the Harrier and Safari – before rolling out the new Sierra soon after.

Rather than differentiating them drastically, Tata is going for a unified visual identity with only minor cues setting the ICE and electric versions apart. The SUV will feature an assertive front end complemented by a closed-off grille section, a sculpted bonnet and slim LED headlamps connected by a full-width light bar. A beefy bumper and prominent surface lines will complete the look.

Tata-Sierra-3.jpg

Moving to the back, the new Tata Sierra will continue its squared-off theme. A thin LED light bar stretching across the tailgate, an integrated roof spoiler, a shark-fin antenna and a high-mounted stop lamp will accentuate the SUV’s upright proportions. The boxy tailgate design, reminiscent of the original Sierra’s silhouette, ties in well with the overall approach.

Powering the internal combustion variant will likely be Tata’s new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-pot petrol engine, expected to churn out around 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque. Tata will also retain its familiar 2.0-litre diesel engine, tuned to produce around 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque. Buyers can expect a choice between a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed torque converter automatic.

As for the all-electric Sierra, it will share much of its elements with the Harrier EV including the possibility of dual battery pack options. Tata has yet to officially confirm whether the all-electric Sierra will feature an all-wheel-drive dual-motor configuration though it’s widely speculated that such a setup could be reserved for the top-end variants.

We can expect a range of more than 500 km per charge, backed by bi-directional charging capability for added practicality. Recent spy shots have also revealed a layered dashboard design with a triple-screen layout integrating the digital cluster, central infotainment system, and a passenger-side display.

Renault, Nissan And Mahindra To Launch New 7-Seater ICE SUVs Next FY

GaadiWaadi -

renault boreal

Three Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari rivals coming to the Indian market in the next two years, all priced competitively from under 20 lakh rupees (ex-showroom)

Seven-seat SUV options under 20 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) are quite limited in India at the moment. Renault, Nissan, and Hyundai are developing new three-row models for this segment, with the first of the new three-row SUVs scheduled to arrive within a year. Here’s what we know about them so far:

1. Renault Boreal

Renault’s new three-row SUV planned for India is expected to be the Boreal, which the company unveiled in July. Heavily based on Dacia’s Bigster, and thus closely related to the India-bound third-gen Duster shared by the two European brands, the Boreal is 4,556 mm long, 1,841 mm wide, and 1,650 mm tall. It has a 2,702 mm wheelbase and a 213 mm ground clearance.

Renault Boreal (2)
Renault Boreal

The Boreal features a bold yet elegant exterior, in what is unarguably the most sophisticated design we’ve seen on a Renault SUV engineered for emerging markets. Its classy interior similarly sets a new internal benchmark. Renault equips the Boreal with features like 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a massage driver’s seat, 10-inch cockpit displays, a 48-colour ambient lighting system, and 24 advanced driver assistance systems.

Renault will likely launch the Boreal with a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and hybrid powertrain based on a larger engine in our market. The company began testing its upcoming three-row SUV in India in mid-2025 and will likely launch it in Q4 2026.

2. Nissan 3-Row SUV

Nissan will launch a corporate cousin of Renault’s upcoming three-row SUV in Q1 2027. In the same way it gave the Tekton a unique character to strongly distinguish it from Renault’s Duster, it will likely design a visibly different exterior for its seven-seat SUV. From the headlights to the grille, bumpers, wheels, and decor elements, almost everything, barring the core structure, should look different.

Nissan Tekton (2)
Nissan Tekton

Inside, the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, door cards, and seats should carry a distinctive design, although the feature set should largely be the same. Most specifications will likely mirror the Renault model.

3. Hyundai 3-Row SUV

Hyundai Tucson Hybrid
Global Tucson Hybrid

Hyundai is developing a new three-row SUV codenamed ‘Ni1i’ and plans to launch it in 2027. Unlike the Alcazar, which is just an extension of the Creta, the Ni1i will be a larger model conceived as a three-row SUV from the outset and measure approximately 4.7 metres like Mahindra’s XUV700. This seven-seat SUV will be one of the eight models Hyundai plans to launch with a hybrid powertrain by March 2030.

Mahindra, Tata And Maruti To Launch New EVs Soon

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti-e-Vitara.jpg

As many as four new EVs priced in the 10-20 lakh range expected to arrive in showrooms in the next two months

Domestic players Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors are among the country’s top players on the EV front, offering some of the most extensive line-ups in the market. Soon, they will launch a new EV, further expanding their portfolio. Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest automaker, will launch its first electric car around the same time.

Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that it will introduce a new EV in November. This model will be the company’s fourth electric SUV following the XUV400, which competes with the Hyundai Creta Electric, and the BE 6 and XEV 9e launched earlier this year.

The upcoming Mahindra EV is expected to be either the XEV 7e or the XUV 3XO EV. The XEV 7e will give customers a pure electric alternative to the XUV700, offering three-row seating suitable for large families.

Mahindra XEV 7E EV

The large SUV is expected to come with features and specifications similar to the XEV 9e, but it won’t be as good on the range front due to obvious reasons. The 3XO EV will be the brand’s Tata Nexon.ev rival, positioned below the XUV400.

Tata Motors plans to introduce not one but two EVs this quarter. The company will launch an updated Punch.ev along with the facelifted Punch, expected to arrive in November. The new Punch.ev will likely have a larger battery pack that allows customers to travel greater distances. The current model’s largest available 35 kWh battery pack maxes out at 365 km.

In December, Tata Motors will launch the Sierra.ev, its new Hyundai Creta Electric rival. Featuring a masculine exterior with a practical four-door layout, the Sierra.ev will be designed to appeal the masses. Inside, while spy shots have already confirmed an industry-first triple-screen setup, there are rumours of a lounge version with four seats, with which it could truly stand out in the crowded mid-size SUV segment.

Maruti Suzuki also plans to launch its Hyundai Creta Electric rival in December – the e Vitara. The company has already started production, but currently it is manufacturing the EV only for export markets. With features like seven airbags, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-way power driver’s seat, and 40:20:40-split, sliding and reclining rear seats, it will be the most advanced Maruti Suzuki launched to date.

New Gen Kia Seltos Spied India 1

The excitement and attractive offers of the festive season might be tempting to bring home a new mid-size SUV, but the 2026 Kia Seltos may worth holding out for

The 2026 Kia Seltos will be the second-generation model of the mid-size SUV. It is one of the three new mid-size SUVs expected to be launched in India next year, and here are five reasons it will be absolutely worth waiting for:

1. All-new design

Spy shots have already given a peek at some of the exterior details, such as new squarish headlamps, vertical LED DRLs, a more prominent grille, and Kia EV5-inspired tail lamps. Moving into its second generation, the Kia Seltos will grow in dimensions. Rumour has it that the length will increase by around 100 mm from the current 4,365 mm. This would make the model the largest one in its segment in our market and quite possibly also the most spacious one. The rear-seat space and boot volume are expected to gain the most from this improvement.

3. New comfort features

Kia will offer the next-gen Seltos with an array of new and improved comfort features. The company should include a new memory function in the powered and ventilated driver’s seats, allowing the driver to set it to their preferred adjustment conveniently. Also new will likely be ventilation, reclining, and sliding functions for the rear seat.

The new combined displays would run the ccNC (connected car Navigation Cockpit) software. Faster USB Type-C ports and a faster wireless smartphone charger are also expected in the next-gen Seltos.

The next-gen Kia Seltos is likely to carry over the current model’s engines, but in improved, more fuel-efficient versions. The current model’s fuel economy ranges from 17.0 to 20.7 km/l. Internationally, Kia will introduce the next-gen Seltos with a hybrid powertrain, but it is not expected to bring that option to our market before 2027.
