Soon-Launching Mahindra XEV 9S – Top 5 Things To Know

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra XEV 9S (2)

XEV 9S to be the newest addition to Mahindra’s dedicated electric SUV line-up and create a new segment in India

Mahindra’s Born Electric range of premium electric SUVs will see the arrival of the third model on 27th November – the XEV 9S. Expected to become the company’s new flagship model, it will be one of India’s most sophisticated EVs yet. Here are five things you need to know about the Mahindra XEV 9S:

1. Designed for big families

The Mahindra XEV 9S will have a 2+3+2 seating layout, accommodating seven adults. It will be an ideal choice for big families and customers who often travel in big groups. It should feature a second-row seat with a one-touch tumble-down lever for third-row passengers to aid ingress and egress. Third-row passengers should get dedicated AC vents and charging ports.

Mahindra XEV 9S (4)

2. Frunk

Three-row SUVs typically suffer from limited cargo space, but not the XEV 9S. It will have an additional luggage area, located under the bonnet, offering 150 litres of extra cargo space. The frunk would also be useful for keeping things you’d rather keep separate from the cabin, such as a gym bag, small plants, muddy shoes, or wet umbrellas.

3. Impressive performance

Packing up to 282 hp and 380 Nm of torque, the Mahindra XEV 9S should accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just around seven seconds. That should make it the quickest three-row SUV made in India. Charging the battery pack from 20% to 100% SoC via a DC charger will take as little as 20 minutes.

4. Nearly 600 km of range

The Mahindra XEV 9S should have an official range rating of nearly 600 km. In real-world metro driving conditions, it will likely deliver a range of over 450 km. A standard-range variant for customers who don’t need to drive such long distances is also expected.

5. Tech-laden interior

Mahindra XEV 9S (3)

The Mahindra XEV 9S will feature a slew of premium technologies such as variable-ratio power steering, semi-adaptive suspension, gesture-controlled power tailgate, triple dashboard displays with visualscapes, augmented-reality head-up display, and a panoramic sunroof with integrated ambient lighting. On the safety front, Level 2+ advanced driver assistance systems, a 360º camera system, seven airbags, and many more high-end features will be available in the Mahindra XEV 9S.

With strong festive momentum, high customer sentiment and improved supply levels driving sales, the month of October 2025 turned out to be a stellar one. Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki continued their familiar tug-of-war at the top while Mahindra and Hyundai maintained momentum courtesy of their respective SUV portfolios.

The Tata Nexon topped the sales chart once again with 22,083 units sold with an impressive 50 per cent year-on-year growth. Its wide range of powertrain choices including petrol, diesel and EV variants continues to attract customers. In second place, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire posted a healthy tally of 20,791 units – up by 64 per cent compared to last year. The arrival of the new-gen has proved to be immense for the compact sedan.

At fourth, the Maruti Suzuki WagonR maintained its dominance in the hatchback space with 18,970 units. Its tall stance, roomy interior, and fuel-efficient K-Series engines make it an easy pick for budget-conscious buyers and the GST 2.0 rollout only helped its cause by reducing the prices across the range. The model continues to deliver reliable numbers month after month.

The Hyundai Creta secured the fifth spot with 18,381 units – maintaining its strong grip on the midsize SUV segment. Even as competition intensifies, the Creta’s extensive feature list, expanding range and wide service network have kept it firmly ahead. It continues to be Hyundai’s highest-selling model and a core contributor to the brand’s overall volumes.

6 Upcoming MPVs (ICE & EV) You Should Wait For – Maruti To Hyundai

GaadiWaadi -

Hyundai-Staria-MPV.jpg

Here we have explained about the six upcoming MPVs that are expected to launch within the next two to three years in India

The compact, midsize and premium MPV segments are all pumped to witness plenty of new arrivals in the coming years. Automakers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan and Citroen are expected to bring in new three-row offerings and here we have listed the possible upcoming models.

1. Nissan Compact MPV:

Nissan-C-SUV-Compact-MPV-2.jpeg

The upcoming Nissan MPV, underpinned by the Renault Kiger’s CMF-A+ platform, is set to be positioned aggressively in terms of pricing thanks to its high degree of localisation. Scheduled to roll out from the facility in Tamil Nadu, the MPV will use the familiar 1.0-litre naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines. It may also debut Nissan’s latest design language and is expected to arrive before Nissan’s new five-seater C-segment SUV.

2&3. Maruti Suzuki YMC & Toyota Derivative:

Maruti Suzuki is all prepared to introduce the e Vitara, its first all-electric EV, next month in India and in the future, it will give rise to a three-row sibling in the form of YMC. The midsize MPV will have similarities with the e Vitara including the batteries and electric motors and it will be exported from Gujarat factory to several international markets as well. It will give rise to a Toyota sibling – likely sharing a lot with the upcoming Urban Cruiser BEV.

4. Maruti Suzuki Compact MPV:

Suzuki-Spacia.jpg

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on a sub-four-metre MPV which could sit below the Ertiga. Expected to arrive in 2027 or 2028, it will draw heavy influence from the Spacia sold in Japan and it could be powered by an in-house developed strong hybrid petrol engine enabling a fuel efficiency of over 30 kmpl. It will emphasise practicality and frugality.

5. Hyundai MPV:

hyundai stargazer-2

During its recent investors day presentation, Hyundai revealed plans to introduce seven brand new nameplates as part of a product strategy to launch 26 models for the Indian market by 2030. Among the upcoming launches, the company drew special attention to two vehicles – a new MPV and an SUV engineered with off-road capability. The MPV is expected to be positioned as a premium people mover – likely inspired by the Hyundai Stargazer currently sold in Indonesia.

6. Citroen e Spacetourer:

Citroen-e-Spacetourer-1.jpg

To likely be positioned to rival the likes of the MG M9 and BYD eMax 7, Citroën’s e-Spacetourer is said to be evaluated for India. Globally, the model is sold in two trim levels and offers both standard and extended wheelbase configurations. Powering the e-Spacetourer is a 75 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed driving range of up to 348 km on a single charge.

Hyundai To Launch Many New SUVs In India – ICE, EVs & Hybrid

GaadiWaadi -

2024 Hyundai Bayon Facelift_-4

Hyundai has confirmed the launch of 8 new hybrid models in India by FY 2030, along with a new compact EV in 2027

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) is preparing to expand its portfolio in the domestic market. The Korean carmaker recently launched the new Venue, which has been a major volume puller alongside the Creta. Earlier this year, in May, the company revealed its plans to launch 26 new models by 2030, including fresh products, mid-life facelifts and new generation models.

In a recent development, it has been revealed that eight new hybrid models are planned for the Indian market, with three to four of these expected to be SUVs. Similarly, a new compact electric SUV is also in the pipeline for the year 2027, as confirmed by the brand at its 2025 Investor Day.

To begin with, on the ICE front, the Exter is expected to receive a mid-life facelift update sometime next year, i.e. 2026. The next-gen Creta, codenamed SX3, is due for a launch in 2027, and it will likely continue with the familiar petrol and diesel engine options. Apart from this, the all-new Bayon will reportedly hit the Indian shores in 2026. The crossover SUV is expected to be powered by a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is currently under development.

New Hyundai EV

Talking about Hyundai’s upcoming electric line-up, a compact electric SUV has been confirmed to go on sale in 2027. As per the reports, it will be based on the Inster EV and specifically made for the Indian market. Based on the E-GMP (K) platform, the sub-4-meter EV SUV will go up against the likes of the Tata Punch EV. Furthermore, the HE1i (codename) will be offered in two battery pack options, featuring Level 2 ADAS and an infotainment system with OTA updates.

Hyundai will also be focusing on hybrid powertrains with its upcoming SUVs. The Bayon crossover SUV could be the brand’s first hybrid model in India. The aforementioned 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine will likely form the base for the hybrid tech, trickling down to other compact SUVs, like the Venue.

The next-gen Creta will also feature a strong hybrid powertrain, however, the exact details on the engine and electric motor are not available as of now. We expect it to come with a highly localised hybrid setup in order to keep the costs in check. Apart from this, a few reports also indicate that a new hybrid 7-seater SUV, which will be positioned below the Tucson, is under development. Internally codenamed Ni1i, the three-row SUV will be squarely aimed at the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.

As per the reports, Hyundai will also launch the Palisade SUV in the domestic market, positioned as the brand’s flagship product. The hybrid SUV is expected to go on sale in 2027-2028, and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 40-50 lakh (ex-showroom). The Palisade will be powered by a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol hybrid engine setup, putting out 334 hp and 460 Nm of peak torque.
