The model continues to see strong demand in the MPV segment which likely explains the absence of official incentives from the manufacturer. Similarly, the premium Toyota Fortuner Legender is not offered with any official discounts during this period. The Fortuner range has consistently maintained strong demand and resale value which often results in limited promotional schemes compared to more competitive segments.

Maruti Suzuki Plans Major Capacity Expansion To Meet Rising Demand

2025 Maruti Dzire Red

Maruti Suzuki plans production expansion to address strong demand & reduce waiting

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, is preparing to increase its production capacity in the next financial year as demand for passenger vehicles continues to remain strong. The company plans to add capacity for around 5 lakh additional vehicles annually in order to better meet domestic demand and reduce waiting periods for customers.

At present, Maruti Suzuki operates with a total installed production capacity of approximately 26 lakh units per year across its manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Gujarat. However, the company is currently running its plants at full capacity, which has limited its ability to fully cater to growing customer demand.

The automaker currently has a pending order backlog of roughly 2 lakh vehicles. Inventory levels are also lower than usual, with total stock equivalent to around 12 days of sales. Of this, nearly seven days’ worth of vehicles are still in transit within the supply chain. Under normal circumstances, dealerships typically maintain inventory levels closer to 30 days.

Recent booking trends indicate strong demand across multiple vehicle segments. The company reported a notable increase in bookings during the previous month, while sales of utility vehicles in particular saw healthy growth. During the same period, Maruti Suzuki dispatched around 1.61 lakh passenger vehicles, a figure broadly similar to its performance in the corresponding month last year.

Parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation has also highlighted the importance of expanding production capacity in India. The Indian subsidiary currently contributes more than half of the global sales volume for the Japanese automaker, underlining the market’s strategic importance.

To address demand and support future growth, new production lines are being added at existing facilities. The second production line at the Kharkhoda plant in Haryana is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of the next financial year. Meanwhile, the fourth line at the Hansalpur facility in Gujarat is scheduled to start operations during the second quarter.

Each of these new lines is expected to add around 2.5 lakh units of annual capacity. However, production will gradually ramp up after commissioning, meaning their full contribution will be realised over time.

The company is also mindful of the risks associated with extended waiting periods. Limited production capacity and lower inventory levels could lead some customers to consider alternative brands if delivery timelines stretch too long. As a result, Maruti Suzuki aims to gradually improve inventory levels closer to its usual benchmark while continuing to respond to strong demand in the market.

New Toyota Fortuner To Likely Arrive Later This Year Or Early 2027 – Key Details

GaadiWaadi -

Next-Gen-Toyota-Fortuner-Rendered.jpg

New Toyota Fortuner is expected to make its global premiere either towards the end of 2026 or sometime in early 2027

The next generation of the Toyota Fortuner is expected to make its global appearance either towards the end of 2026 or sometime in early 2027. Early development prototypes have already been seen testing overseas indicating that the well known full size SUV is preparing for a comprehensive update. It will likely bring substantial changes in styling, technology and overall mechanical bits compared to the current version.

One of the most important upgrades will likely be underneath the body. The new iteration is widely believed to use the TNGA F ladder frame architecture – a platform also used by the newest generation of the Toyota Hilux. It has been engineered to deliver improved structural strength along with enhanced ride quality and better off road capability while maintaining the durability the Fortuner nameplate is associated with.

Digital renderings based on recent spy photographs suggest the SUV could get a more aggressive appearance inspired by the latest Hilux. The front portion may feature a newly styled grille with chrome inserts and large Toyota branding positioned above it. Slim LED headlamps accompanied by sharp daytime running lights are expected to frame the grille while the bumper could incorporate a more prominent skid plate and circular fog lamps housed within triangular surrounds.

The tail lamps could be connected by a full width LED lighting element stretching across the tailgate. Prominent Fortuner lettering is also expected to sit across the centre of the rear panel. Additional details might include larger alloy wheels, thicker protective cladding, a sculpted rear bumper, a roof mounted spoiler and dual exhaust outlets.

Stepping inside, the dashboard could feature a pair of 12.3 inch digital displays, one dedicated to the infotainment system and the other functioning as a fully digital instrument cluster. Several advanced technologies are also expected to be introduced. Features such as Level 2 driver assistance systems, a 360 degree surround view camera, connected vehicle capabilities and over the air software updates could become part of the package.

A panoramic sunroof and automatic climate control are also likely to be offered too. The Fortuner has enjoyed a strong reputation since its global introduction during the mid 2000s and later arrival in the domestic scene in 2009. We can expect it to arrive in India soon after its world debut considering its popularity locally.
