Ather has rolled out limited time offers of up to Rs. 20,000 on Rizta and 450 series electric scooters in India

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy has announced a promotional campaign for its scooter lineup in India. As part of the initiative, buyers can receive total benefits of up to Rs. 20,000 on select models including the Ather Rizta and scooters from the Ather 450 Series range. The offer will be available at Ather Experience Centres across the country until March 31, 2026.

The benefits are made up of several components that collectively reduce the effective purchase cost. Customers using select credit cards can receive a discount of Rs. 10,000. The company is providing a direct cash reduction of Rs. 6,500 on eligible purchases. Buyers will also receive an extended components warranty package valued at Rs. 3,500 – bringing the combined customer advantage close to Rs. 20,000 during the promotional timeline.

With these incentives in place, the starting price of certain models has been revised temporarily. The Rizta S now carries a price tag of Rs. 1,04,758 (ex-showroom Mumbai) while the entry-level Ather 450S is currently priced at Rs. 1,13,100 (ex-showroom Mumbai). In addition to the company-led incentives, buyers can also take advantage of the PM E‑Drive Scheme which currently provides a subsidy of Rs. 5,000 for eligible electric two-wheelers.

Ather Electric Scooter

The benefit is also scheduled to remain in effect only until March 31, 2026. Positioned as a practical electric scooter appealing to families, the Ather Rizta is driven by a 4.3 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that produces 22 Nm of torque and enables a top speed of 80 kmph. The scooter is offered with two lithium-ion battery choices: a 2.9 kWh pack capable of delivering an IDC range of 123 km and a larger 3.7 kWh battery that extends the claimed range to around 160 km on a single charge.

Charging duration depends on the battery configuration with the smaller pack requiring about 8.3 hours for a full recharge while the larger unit can reach 80 per cent capacity in 4.5 hours when paired with a faster charger. It features a long 900 mm seat and a large boot. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and a rear monoshock setup. Braking hardware includes a 200 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear – supported by a Combined Braking System.

The Ather 450 Series is built around a hybrid aluminium chassis and the lineup includes the 450S, the more powerful 450X and the flagship 450 Apex. Across the range, the scooters share several mechanical components such as telescopic front suspension, a rear monoshock and dual disc brakes supported by CBS. They ride on 12-inch alloy wheels and offer a ground clearance of around 170 mm while under-seat storage capacity stands at 22 litres.

The 450S uses a 5.4 kW electric motor producing 22 Nm of torque and can reach a top speed of 90 kmph while delivering an IDC range of up to 161 km. Moving up the range, the 450X features a 6.4 kW motor generating 26 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds. At the top sits the 450 Apex, equipped with a more powerful 7.0 kW motor that allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 100 kmph while completing the 0 to 40 kmph sprint in about 2.9 seconds. Battery options across the 450 lineup include 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh packs.

New Tata Sierra Gets Past One Lakh Bookings, Production Ramps Up

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Sierra (22)

New Tata Sierra has gone past the one lakh booking milestone in just a few months; available in three engine and as many gearbox choices

The return of the Tata Sierra in its new avatar has been well received by Indian buyers. Since bookings opened late last year, customer interest has continued to grow rapidly – pushing total reservations beyond the one lakh mark across the country. In response to the strong demand, Tata Motors has begun increasing production to shorten delivery timelines and meet the growing order backlog.

Positioned above the Tata Curvv in the company’s SUV lineup, the Sierra was launched in November 2025 with prices ranging from Rs. 11.49 lakh to Rs. 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV is available in a wide range of trims including Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ – allowing buyers to choose from multiple feature combinations and powertrain configurations.

Deliveries of the Sierra began around mid-January 2026 and within a short period the company had already shipped more than 14,000 units to dealerships and customers by February. Production is gradually being scaled up at Tata’s manufacturing facilities with suppliers working closely with the automaker to ensure a steady flow of components.

Despite these efforts, the current order volume means customers will still need to wait a few months for delivery. The Sierra presently carries a waiting period of roughly three to four months based on the variant selected. Models equipped with automatic gearboxes generally require a longer wait while diesel-powered versions also take slightly more time to arrive compared to petrol variants.

Colour preferences are also playing a role in delivery timelines. Among the available options, Munnar Mist (Greenish Grey shade) has quickly become the most popular shade among consumers. Other colour schemes are Coorg Clouds (White), Pristine White, Pure Grey, Bengal Rouge (Red) and Andaman Adventure. Under the bonnet, the Sierra offers three engine choices.

The entry-level 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 106 PS and 145 Nm while a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor delivers 160 PS and 255 Nm. The diesel lineup features a 1.5-litre engine producing 120 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque. The transmission choices are a six-speed MT, a six-speed AT and a seven-speed dual clutch automatic unit.

Built on Tata’s new ARGOS architecture, the Sierra combines retro-inspired styling cues with modern details. The cabin features a three-screen dashboard layout, a JBL sound system with a dashboard soundbar, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof and a powered tailgate. It also gets Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, etc.

Top 5 Highlights Of The Renault Bridger Compact SUV

GaadiWaadi -

renault bridger (7)

Renault Bridger, a new compact SUV based on a shortened version of the RGMP platform that underpins the India-spec all-new Renault Duster

As part of its new futuREady strategy, Renault has confirmed plans to launch four cars in India by 2030. One of these models will be the Renault Bridger, a compact SUV aimed at adventure-minded customers. Here are the top five highlights of the upcoming compact SUV:

1. Squarish body

Renault Bridger Concept

A squarish body with upright front and rear fascias, boxy headlamps, flattish bonnet and roof, flared wheel arches, a straight beltline, and muscular shoulders will lend the Renault Bridger an authentic SUV look. While the concept version features 18-inch wheels, the production version could come with 17-inch wheels, which would still be quite big for a vehicle of this size.

2. High ground clearance

Renault Bridger Concept 3

Besides a boxy shape, the Renault Bridger would boast a high ground clearance of about 200 mm. This would give it a strong road presence and also protect its underbody from speadbreakers and potholes. That, along with extremely short overhangs, should make the Bridger the perfect vehicle for light off-road adventures.

3. Tailgate-mounted spare wheel

Renault-Bridger-Concept-1-1.jpg

A tailgate-mounted spare wheel would further add to the proper SUV look of the Renault Bridger. Besides building its character, it would free up space in the boot. The concept version offers 400 litres with the rear seat up, and the production version’s capacity is likely to be around the same.

4. Class-leading space

renault bridger (9)

Renault says the Bridger offers 200 mm of knee room at the rear in the concept version, which is the highest in this segment. The production version is likely to be just as spacious. Thanks to the conventional proportions of the vehicle, headroom should also be generous, both at the front and rear.

5. Multiple powertrains

renault bridger (6)

The Renault Bridger will offer the widest range of powertrain options, ranging from ICE to hybrid electric and pure electric. The ICE variant is likely to be introduced first, with a choice of an all-new 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 99 hp and 160 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission will likely be standard, and a CVT will likely be available as an option. The hybrid and pure electric variants could follow in a phased manner starting in mid-2027.

Rebadged Jaecoo J5 EV Spied On Test, To Be JSW’s Midsize e-SUV?

GaadiWaadi -

Jaecoo J5 EV (2)

Jaecoo J5 EV is a low-cost Chinese car and will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti e Vitara in India

JSW Group is set to make an independent entry into the Indian auto market through its new subsidiary, JSW Motors. However, initially, its products will be cars licensed from the Chinese conglomerate Chery Auto. While the first model will be a rebadged version of the T2 from Chery’s Jetour brand, the second one will be a similar derivative of the J5 EV from the Chinese company’s Jaecoo brand.

Following the rebadged Jetour T2, the rebadged Jaecoo J5 EV has been spied on test in India. The Jaecoo J5 EV is an electric mid-size SUV designed with proportions strikingly similar to the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque. It measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height and has a 2,620 mm wheelbase.

The Jaecoo J5 EV features a sleek exterior. A blanked-off upper grille area and 18-inch aero wheels immediately give away its EV credentials, while swept-back rectangular headlamps, a subtly rising beltline, a sloping roofline, a sharply raked angled rear windscreen, and slim tail lamps give it a dynamic styling.

The interior is minimalist and highly digital, which enhances the sense of space. The horizontal dashboard has a flattish top and integrates compact AC vents as well as an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. A free-standing 13.2-inch portrait touchscreen visually connects the dashboard to the centre console in a waterfall-style design.

Internationally, the Jaecoo J5 EV is offered with other features such as a 1.45 m2 panoramic fixed glass roof, ventilated front seats with 6-way (driver side)/4-way (passenger side) power adjustment, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a 50-watt wireless smartphone charger. On the safety front, it gets a 360º camera system, transparent chassis view, an extensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, and six airbags.

Jaecoo J5 EV (1)

Powering the Jaecoo J5 EV is a single, front-mounted motor that generates 155 kW (208 hp) and 288 Nm of torque, drawing energy from a 58.9 kWh LFP battery pack. This setup allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds, reach a top speed of 175 km, and drive up to 402 kilometres on a single charge, as per WLTP.

In an interview with CNBC TV-18 at Davos 2026, Parth Jindal, the Managing Director of JSW Cement and JSW Paints and Director of JSW Energy, said that JSW Motors will launch its second car in January 2027 and price it between 15 and 20 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). Jindal did not explicitly say so, but he was almost certainly referring to the rebadged Jaecoo J5 EV.

Triumph Scrambler 400 XC

The partnership between Triumph and Bajaj began gaining strength from the second quarter of 2023 and since then the growth trajectory has been notable

Triumph Motorcycles has reached a significant milestone in the Indian market with more than one lakh motorcycles now running on the country’s roads. It indicates an important moment for the British brand’s expansion in India and shows the good reception its motorcycles have among enthusiasts, especially the 400 cc models. Backed by its collaboration with Bajaj Auto, the brand has rapidly strengthened its position in the entry-level middleweight motorcycle segment.

The partnership between Triumph and Bajaj began gaining strength from the second quarter of 2023 and since then the growth trajectory has been notable. The synergy of combining Triumph’s global engineering expertise with Bajaj Auto’s manufacturing capabilities, research and development resources and extensive distribution network has worked a treat.

The alliance has managed to scale up operations at an impressive rate. One of the most visible outcomes of this partnership has been the expansion of Triumph’s retail footprint across India. The brand is now present in over 200 towns – supported by a network of more than 230 retail outlets. Besides sales numbers, Triumph Motorcycles has also invested in building a strong rider community in India.

Triumph has also been actively organising riding events tailored for Indian terrain and riding preferences. Programs such as Triumph Tiger Trails, Scrambler Rides, Bike Nights and curated rides through scenic routes like the Western Ghats twisties have allowed riders to experience the motorcycles in environments that suit their character.

Another key factor behind the milestone is the local manufacturing of the Triumph 400 series in India. The motorcycles produced here are not limited to the domestic market. They are exported to 18 international markets including countries such as Japan, Australia, Mexico, Taiwan and South Korea. Domestic sales for Toyota Kirloskar Motor stood at 30,737 units in February 2026 – showing a 16 per cent year-on-year increase compared to 26,414 units sold during the same period last year. On a month-on-month basis, sales remained almost unchanged as the company recorded 30,630 units in January 2026.

The brand finished fifth in the overall manufacturers’ sales standings with 7.3 per cent market share. Toyota’s growth continues to be supported by its own range of SUVs, MPVs and rebadged models developed through its partnership with Maruti Suzuki. Heading the way was the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder which recorded a total of 9,359 units.

The tally ensured a massive 117 per cent growth compared to 4,314 units sold during the same month in 2025. The month-on-month performance also improved slightly as the model registered 9,156 units in January 2026 with a 2 per cent increase. The strong hybrid demand and the ever-rising interest in midsize SUVs have helped the Hyryder achieve this growth.
