Kia To Launch 4 New Cars By Next Year – Syros EV To Carnival Hybrid

GaadiWaadi -

Kia Sorento

Kia is looking to bring in as many as four new models across different segments in India and here we have explained them

Having launched the all-new Seltos and ramped up its production to a normal level in recent months, Kia is preparing to further strengthen its presence in the Indian market. The company is likely to introduce four new products by next year.

1. Kia Syros EV

The Kia Syros EV isn’t coming in early 2026 as originally planned, but it is still in the pipeline. Now expected to be launched in the middle of the year, it will compete with the Tata Nexon.ev and Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.

Kia Syros EV

The Syros EV will likely come with two battery pack options with different energy storage capacities in the range of 35-45 kWh, both consisting of LFP cells produced locally by Exide Energy. It should be capable of travelling nearly 500 kilometres on a single charge. Save for a cleaner front-end and more aerodynamic wheels, the design and features will likely be nearly identical to the regular Syros.

2. Kia Carnival Hybrid

Around the festive season this year, Kia will likely launch the Carnival Hybrid in India. The electrified minivan combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 178 hp and 265 Nm of torque with an electric motor that generates 72 hp and 304 Nm of torque.

This combination delivers 242 hp of total power and 367 Nm of total torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission sends drive to the front wheels. In South Korea, the Carnival Hybrid is officially claimed to return a fuel economy of up to 14 km/l. In the Middle East, the same setup is rated for 18.6 km/l.

3. Kia MQ4i

Kia Sorento (2)

MQ4i is the codename of Kia’s new Mahindra XUV 7XO rival, derived from the fourth-generation Sorento that debuted in 2020. It will be a three-row SUV and likely be powered by an all-new hybrid system based on a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The exterior and interior may have only minimal design changes from the global model. Kia will likely launch this model in Q1 2027.

4. Kia Seltos Hybrid

New Kia Seltos (8)

Shortly after the Kia MQ4i, a first-ever Kia Seltos Hybrid should arrive in showrooms. It will feature a combination of the aforementioned 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and an electric motor, which could give it a fuel economy of around 25 km/l.

Renault To Launch 3 New SUVs In Different Segments

GaadiWaadi -

renault bridger (7)

More serious about the Indian market than ever before, Renault lines up multiple new models covering key high-volume segments

After a largely muted past five years, Renault is doubling down on the Indian market. The company has confirmed plans to launch four models by 2030, three of which will be SUVs and will go on sale by next year.

1. All-new Renault Duster

The Renault Duster skipped the second generation in India and is making a comeback in the third generation, with launch scheduled on 17 March. Renault has re-engineered the third-generation model for India to give it more features than any other market globally, which shows the company is serious about its presence here.

New Renault Duster (11)

From a powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof to electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with full map view, the India-spec all-new Duster is loaded to the brim with premium features. There’ll be a choice of 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engines initially, and a 1.8-litre engine-based hybrid system will follow towards the end of the year.

2. Renault three-row SUV

A three-row SUV derived from the all-new Renault Duster will follow towards the end of the year. It will have a different design, one aimed at projecting more elegance and refinement, and carry a different name. Yet, the association with the two-row model will still be apparent.

While the all-new Duster is not the most spacious model in its class, the three-row model will likely offer more room in the second row. The third row will likely accommodate two adults, but it will likely be a tight space. Expect more soft-touch materials, higher-quality plastics, and some more comfort and convenience features as well. Renault may offer the three-row model in 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid variants.

3. Renault Bridger

The Renault Briger, already showcased in concept form, will be the French automaker’s compact SUV designed to take on the Mahindra Vision S’ production version as well as popular existing models such as the Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue. It will possibly be one of the biggest models in its segment, with a boxy shape aimed at offering strong road presence and maximum space.

renault bridger (9)

The Bridger could have a ground clearance of around 200 mm and a boot space of around 400 litres. Renault is aiming for great rear-seat comfort as well, targeting 200 mm of knee room. The company will likely launch it with an all-new 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in late 2027 and introduce a hybrid system and a pure electric powertrain in a phased manner starting in 2028.

Mercedes-Benz And Audi To Hike Prices In India Next Month

GaadiWaadi -

Mecedes GLS 450

With the euro consistently trading at over 100 rupees month after month, European luxury carmakers are under pressure to maintain their profit margins

Ahead of the start of the new financial year in India, Mercedes-Benz and Audi have announced plans to raise prices of their cars. For the three-pointed star, this will be the second price hike in the calendar year following the first one in January.

Mercedes-Benz says it will increase the prices of its cars by up to 2%, and it will implement the revised pricing on 1 April 2026. The company cites two reasons behind this price hike. The first factor is the continued decline of the rupee against the euro, currently trading at 105.66 rupees.

A year ago, the euro traded at 94.55 rupees, which means the rupee value has declined by 11.75%. Besides the worsening exchange value, there’s the problem of rising costs. Brendon Sissing, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz, suggested that the company is absorbing some of these costs but needs to pass on the remaining hike to customers, without which it would be difficult to operate the business sustainably.

Mercedes V-Class (2)

Mercedes-Benz sells luxury cars in a variety of segments, with the A-Class priced from 44.45 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) as the entry point. Its range goes up to 4.20 crore rupees (ex-showroom) for the Maybach SL Monogram Series.

On 1 January 2026, Mercedes-Benz rolled out the first price hike, which was also of up to 2%. The company had passed a small part of the increase in costs to the market, but it said that it was looking at further quarterly price revisions to get close to the current foreign exchange levels. The company is trying to improve localisation, which should help shield it to some extent, though. In January, it began assembling the Maybach GLS in India – the first market outside the U.S. with localisation for the model. The company also began assembling the V-Class later.

Audi will also increase the prices of its cars in India by up to 2% from 1 April 2026. Balbir Singh Dhillon, the company’s Brand Director for our market, attributes this revision to similar reasons: currency fluctuations and rising input costs. Audi’s line-up in India starts with Q3, priced from 43.23 lakh rupees (ex-showroom), and tops out with the RS Q8, which costs 2.34 crore rupees (ex-showroom).

Kia Carens Clavis EV To Soon Get 6 Seats, GT Line & X-Line Trims – Info Leaked

GaadiWaadi -

Kia-Carens-Clavis-EV-2.jpg

Kia Carens Clavis EV will soon get a six-seater layout and an expanded range comprising GT Line and X-Line trims in India

Kia India appears to be preparing to widen the lineup of the Carens Clavis EV if a recently leaked internal document is anything to go by. The document reveals new trims and seating options along with detailed pricing for multiple variants. One of the biggest highlights will be the introduction of a six-seater configuration.

The document indicates that this layout – featuring captain seats in the second row – will be available from the HTX E variant onwards. Buyers will therefore be able to choose between six- and seven-seat layouts based on their preference. The six-seater setup will not be restricted to a single battery option either.

According to the leaked details, it will be offered with both battery packs available on the Carens Clavis EV. The 42 kWh standard-range version will continue to form the entry point of the lineup while the larger 51.4 kWh extended-range battery will power the higher variants. Pricing details in the leaked document also shed light on the upcoming GT Line and X-Line variants of the Kia Carens Clavis EV.

The GT Line range will be offered in GTX and GTX Plus trims – both paired exclusively with the 51.4 kWh extended-range battery pack. The GTX variants are listed at around Rs. 22.99 lakh (ex-showroom) while the more feature-rich GTX Plus trims are priced at Rs. 24.99 lakh. These versions are expected to bring sportier styling updates and distinctive trim elements compared to the regular HT variants.

The six-seater layout, available across both battery options, starts from Rs. 19.99 lakh for the HTX E standard-range version while the extended-range HTX E variants are listed at around Rs. 21.99 lakh. At the top end of the lineup sits the X-Line variant, also priced close to Rs. 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom) – making it one of the most expensive versions in the Clavis EV range.

The leaked sheet also hints that on-road prices could climb close to Rs. 27 lakh depending on warranty packages, accessories and charging options. While the exact design changes for the GT Line and X-Line versions are not detailed yet, they are expected to bring distinct styling elements, unique trim accents and variant-specific cosmetic updates – similar to what Kia already offers on several of its other models.

The local dispatches reached 18,71,406 units last month with a 35.2 per cent jump compared to the 13,84,605 units recorded in February 2025. Nearly every major manufacturer reported healthy growth. In other words, demand across commuter motorcycles, scooters and even premium offerings remained firmly on the upswing in the second month of the new CY.

At the top of the list was Hero MotoCorp. The company posted a total of 5,16,968 units during the month – up sharply from 3,57,296 units a year ago with a 44.7 per cent growth. Hero’s market share also climbed to 27.62 per cent – giving it a slight but important edge over its closest competitor with a market share gain of 1.82 per cent on a YoY basis.

Right behind it was Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India with 5,13,217 units. Honda’s sales grew 33.7 per cent year-on-year which is impressive by any measure. Even so, its market share slipped slightly to 27.42 per cent. The gap between the top two brands is extremely small – just a few thousand units – and that keeps the leadership battle interesting every single month.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Crosses 30 Lakh Sales Milestone In India

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti-Suzuki-Dzire-Celebrates-30-Lakh-Sales-Milestone.jpg

Maruti Suzuki Dzire has achieved 30 lakh unit sales milestone in less than 18 years since its market launch back in 2008

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has achieved a major milestone in India as its cumulative sales has surpassed 30 lakh units. The compact sedan continues to be one of the most important products for Maruti Suzuki India Limited and remains widely popular despite the market’s preference changing towards SUVs and it regularly finds itself as one of the top-selling models monthly.

It is not a coincidence that the milestone has come soon after the Dzire finished calendar year 2025 as the highest-selling passenger vehicle in the country – recording more than 2.14 lakh units during the year. It was mainly due to the arrival of the brand new generation towards the end of 2024 with multiple revisions inside and out.

Safety has become one of the key talking points of the latest model. The fourth generation Dzire comes equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist along with ISOFIX child seat anchors. The five-seater has also secured a crash test rating of five stars from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP assessments.

New-2025-Maruti-Suzuki-Dzire-4.jpg

Under the bonnet, the sedan is powered by Maruti Suzuki’s Z-Series petrol engine which focuses on delivering better fuel economy. The petrol manual variant offers a claimed fuel economy of 24.79 km per litre while the factory-fitted S-CNG version delivers up to 33.73 km per kg – making it one of the most economical sedans available in the market.

Over time, the Dzire has indeed evolved in terms of technology and comfort as well. The latest iteration is the most feature-packed the nameplate has ever been as it comprises an electric sunroof, a 360-degree camera system and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

New-2025-Maruti-Suzuki-Dzire-4.jpg

Connected technology is offered through Suzuki Connect which adds smartwatch compatibility and voice assistant integration. The Dzire’s journey in India began in 2008 when it was introduced as a compact sedan derived from the Swift hatchback under the Swift Dzire moniker. Since then, the model has gone through four generations with each iteration introducing improvements in styling, equipment and mechanical bits.

Speaking on the occasion, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude towards all 3 million Dzire customers on this incredible milestone. The fourth-generation Dzire has well and truly reignited the sedan segment with its refined and sophisticated appeal, ensuring it finds strong preference among young first-time buyers, this demographic in fact represents nearly 50% of customers.”

Suzuki To Launch Next-Gen Swift Sport This Year

GaadiWaadi -

2024 Suzuki Swift Sport Rendering

Suzuki’s much-loved hot hatch, the Swift Sport, will be returning to global showrooms after a hiatus of nearly two years

An all-new Swift Sport is in the making, based on the fourth-generation Swift, which is sold in India. According to a new report from Japanese publication Best Car Web, Suzuki plans to unveil the next-gen Swift Sport at the end of this year. The all-new hot hatch was scheduled to arrive earlier, but the project is running behind schedule.

A wider track and increased body width would give the next-gen Swift Sport a more appealing stance compared to the regular Swift. A more rigid body structure and firmer suspension are also expected among the mechanical changes, aimed at delivering better driving dynamics.

Powering the all-new Swift Sport will be a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that features 48-volt mild-hybrid technology and puts out 148 hp and 240 Nm of torque. For reference, the old model had a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that developed 138 hp and 230 Nm of torque, also with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.

swift sport-3
Current swift sport

As before, customers will get a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic transmission in the Swift Sport. While the car has traditionally been a FWD-only offering to keep the weight in check, in the next generation, an AWD system will be available as an option, suggests the Japanese report.

The all-new Swift Sport could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h as quickly as under eight seconds and have a top speed of at least 210 km/h. Besides a more engaging driving experience, it could stand out further with special styling bits such as a more aggressive front grille, a front-lip spoiler, side skirts, 17-inch alloy wheels, exposed dual exhaust tailpipes, and a rear diffuser. Inside, the sporty upgrades may include semi-bucket seats, metallic-finish pedals, and exclusive trim and upholstery.

swift sport
Current swift sport

Maruti Suzuki has never offered the Swift Sport in India, and the company is unlikely to bring it in the next generation either. Limited volume potential, along with the fact that the company doesn’t locally produce the 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, could make the business case tough for our market. In Japan, Best Car Web expects Suzuki to launch the next-gen Swift Sport in the price range of 2.3-2.5 million yen (approximately 13.33-14.49 lakh rupees).
