With the acquisition process now completed, Bajaj owns 100% percent share in Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG), which controls KTM AG

Bajaj Auto, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, has completed the acquisition process of Pierer Bajaj AG, which now gives it a majority 74.9% (approx.) stake in Pierer Mobility AG (PMAG) and KTM AG (KTM).

The acquisition process began in May 2025 and took several months to obtain the necessary approvals from European regulators, following Bajaj’s agreement to purchase the shares held by Pierer Industries AG (PIAG). On November 18, the company confirmed the development in a regulatory filing under SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.

To give a basic idea of the entire structure, Bajaj Auto has proceeded with the acquisition via its wholly subsidiary, Bajaj Auto International Holdings BV, which is based in the Netherlands. This subsidiary has purchased all 50,100 shares of Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG) from Pierer Industries AG (PIAG), which previously had a controlling shareholding. Now, Bajaj has 100 percent ownership of the Pierer Bajaj AG, which gives it a majority stake of 74.9% in KTM AG and Pierer Mobility AG.

After the completion of the entire acquisition process, Bajaj has renamed Pierer Bajaj AG (PBAG) to Bajaj Auto International Holdings AG. On the other hand, the Pierer Mobility AG (PMAG), which is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange in Zurich and the Vienna Stock Exchange, has been renamed as Bajaj Mobility AG.

Apart from this, restructuring of the supervisory and management boards is also underway in order to align the company with the new goals and strategies. It is also important to note that Bajaj Auto has invested 800 million euros to revive the KTM brand.

With this acquisition in place, Bajaj has now got full control of KTM’s operations, along with an opportunity to expand its global reach, establishing the Indian brand as a leading two-wheeler manufacturer on the international pedestal. It will be interesting to see how Bajaj will lead the charge, paving the way for KTM’s revival globally.

4 New Midsize IC-Engined SUVs Arriving Within The Next 4 Months

GaadiWaadi -

Dacia Duster

Within the next four months, Mahindra, Tata Motors, Renault and Nissan are launching their new midsize IC-engined SUVs in India

The midsize SUV segment in India is gearing up for a busy run as four important launches are lined up within a short period. The upcoming models are not minor updates either – each one plays a crucial role in its brand’s revival or expansion strategy. Manufacturers like Mahindra, Tata, Renault and Nissan are all betting big on this category to strengthen their presence and boost volumes in 2026.

1. New Tata Sierra ICE:

Tata’s iconic Sierra nameplate is making a comeback in a modern avatar, and this time, it will be offered with internal combustion engines alongside its electric version. The new Sierra will debut with Tata’s upcoming 1.5-litre petrol motor in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms with the turbo version expected to generate 168 PS and 280 Nm. A 1.5-litre diesel engine will also be part of the lineup – paired with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Already showcased in production form, the Sierra combines retro design cues from the original with a futuristic styling approach. Thanks to its long wheelbase, cabin space will be a strong point. Feature highlights include a triple-screen layout, a four-spoke steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, connected tech, multi-speaker audio with Dolby Atmos, powered tailgate Level 2 ADAS, etc.

2. Mahindra XUV700 Facelift:

The flagship ICE SUV is finally due for its first major refresh in the early parts of January 2026. The updated XUV700 will bring subtle design revisions on the outside along with a heavily reworked interior. The cabin will receive a new triple-screen layout, cleaner dashboard design and improved material quality amongst other changes. However, under the hood, Mahindra is expected to retain the existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, offered with both manual and automatic transmissions, keeping its mechanical package familiar yet proven.

2. Nissan Tekton:

Nissan is preparing a major comeback in the midsize SUV space with the upcoming Tekton. Slated for a launch in the first half of 2026, the SUV will share its platform with the next-gen Renault Duster but will wear a more squared-off and muscular design inspired by Nissan’s global lineup including the Patrol. It is expected to focus heavily on road presence and differentiation and it will be one of Nissan’s most critical launches in the Indian market in recent years.

3. New Gen Renault Duster:

Renault is also bringing back the Duster nameplate to India. The new generation model, set to launch on January 26, will be based on the CMF-B platform which will be extensively localised for Indian conditions. It is likely to be offered with a choice of petrol engines, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options. Compared to its predecessor, the new Duster will be more premium and better equipped

Tata Harrier Hybrid And Tata Safari Hybrid Could Be In The Pipeline

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Harrier & Safari Adventure X Persona

Fuel efficiency has been a major concern with the ICE Harrier and Safari duo, and a hybrid powertrain could address that issue in the near future

With EV demand plateauing, Tata Motors is reversing its stance against hybrid cars. The company originally planned to transition from ICE vehicles to pure electric models, but has begun evaluating hybrids in response to changing market dynamics.

With CAFE 3 norms set to become effective in 2027 and demand for hybrids rising, Tata Motors needs to rethink its electrification strategy. The company is looking at introducing hybrid variants of its models longer than four metres, as these higher-priced vehicles can better absorb the added costs of a sophisticated multi-energy powertrain.

The Tata Harrier and Tata Safari could be the brand’s first models to get hybrid powertrains. The flagship duo is set to receive a brand-new petrol engine on 9th December, which will set the precedent for this electrification. This will be the same 1.5-litre turbocharged direct injection unit that will debut in the all-new Tata Sierra on 25th November.

tata harrier facelift-18

The 1.5-litre turbocharged direct injection petrol engine adheres to BS6 Phase-II emission norms and is compliant with E20 petrol. It produces 168 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque at 2,000-3,500 rpm. Tata Motors will likely use a modified version of this engine in the Tata Harrier Hybrid and Tata Safari Hybrid.

A pure electric motor would assist the petrol engine, and it should also power the front wheels. The hybrid powertrain should deliver a fuel economy of over 20 km/l, but it’s too early to give a more accurate estimate. We doubt Tata Motors will develop another configuration with a second electric motor that powers the rear wheels to offer all-wheel drive capability. The demand for AWD vehicles in this segment is too low, and the company is already catering to those niche customers with the Tata Harrier.ev’s optional dual-motor ‘QWD’ variant.

If Tata Motors does go ahead with the plan, it could introduce the Harrier Hybrid and Safari Hybrid sometime in 2027, just in time for the implementation of the stricter CAFE norms. A Tata Sierra Hybrid could follow sometime in 2028. Renault is also planning to launch hybrid SUVs in these segments, with a Duster Hybrid expected to arrive in 2027 and a three-row hybrid SUV shortly after.

Skoda Kushaq To Get Panoramic Sunroof, ADAS, And More

GaadiWaadi -

Skoda Kushaq Facelift (1) (1)

Skoda’s Hyundai Creta rival likely to gain a raft of new comfort, convenience, and safety features with a mid-cycle refresh early next year

The Skoda Kushaq, the first model from Volkswagen Group’s one-billion-euro India 2.0 project, turned four this July. A facelift was programmed this year, but it is running behind schedule and will be finally rolled out in 2026, quite possibly in the first quarter.

Skoda did quite a lot of cost-cutting in the Kushaq, with some measures extending beyond ensuring the car is not over-engineered. The company resorted to decontenting, excluding even trending features like a panoramic sunroof and advanced driver assistance systems. It didn’t include even the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that it offers in the comparable Kamiq in Europe.

With the facelift, Skoda will start offering some of the key features the Kushaq has lacked for more than four years. For instance, recent spy shots have confirmed that a panoramic sunroof is finally coming to the Kushaq.

Front parking sensors, an improved reverse camera, and a 360º camera system would improve safety in the Skoda Kushaq. Also new in this aspect will likely be a host of Level 2 ADAS features such as blind spot assist, forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keep assist, front collision assist, and rear cross traffic assist.

Spy shots have also indicated that the facelifted Skoda Kushaq will have subtle design revisions. The front grilles, headlamps, tail lamps, and bumpers all would undergo a minor redesign. Additionally, Skoda will likely offer a range of new wheel options in 16- and 17-inch sizes. No major design changes are expected on the inside, though.

Mechanically, the new Skoda Kushaq will be no different from the current model. Based on the MQB A0 IN platform, it will be available with a 1.0-litre TSI turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.

Skoda will offer the 1.0-litre engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission and likely pair the 1.5-litre engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard. The larger engine will also come with a fuel-sipping cylinder deactivation system called ‘Active Cylinder Technology (ACT).’ Depending on the engine and transmission combination, the new Kushaq should deliver a fuel economy of 18-20 km/l.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Likely To Be Launched In January 2026

GaadiWaadi -

2026-Mahindra-XUV-700-Facelift-Spied.jpg

Mahindra expected to roll out the first facelift with design and tech upgrades for its flagship ICE SUV early next year

The Mahindra XUV700, the successor to the game-changing XUV500, has brought immense success for the brand since its launch in August 2021. The Tata Safari rival is set to receive a facelift soon, possibly as early as January.

The Mahindra XUV700 will get some comprehensive updates with the facelift. Initially, there were rumours that it would adopt the same unconventional front as the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 9S. However, latest spy shots captured during the final phase of testing indicate the ICE model will retain its poised front with minor tweaks to the headlamps, bumper, grille, and fog lamps.

The side profile of the new Mahindra XUV700 is likely to be visually the same for the most part. The flush-fitted door handles should continue being offered in two versions, with the base and middle trims requiring manual input and the top trim deploying electronically. New 17- and 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels could be the only design change here.

At the rear, Mahindra may redesign the bumper and tail lamp clusters of the XUV700 with the upcoming refresh. Connected tail lamps are a trend in this segment these days, with Mahindra’s own XEV 9e being part of the trend, but the company is unlikely to offer that feature on the XUV700, ensuring a classy, conventional look.

The interior of the new Mahindra XUV700 will have substantial upgrades, both visually and functionally. Mahindra will redesign the XUV700’s dashboard to incorporate a new panel that integrates three 12.3-inch displays, including a touch-operated unit for the front passenger.

Like in the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 9S, the look won’t be as cohesive as in global cars, but tech-savvy customers will appreciate the inclusion of a new passenger touchscreen that allows them to stream videos and music, play games, and make video calls.

Mahindra discontinued the five-seat version of the XUV700 earlier this year, and like now, it may continue offering the SUV in six- and seven-seat versions following the facelift. The company is not expected to bring any changes to the engine or transmission options. It may price the updated model from around 14 lakh rupees (ex-showroom).

RE Bullet 650 Makes India Debut At MotoVerse – Specs, Expected Price & More

GaadiWaadi -

Royal-Enfield-Bullet-650-1-2.jpg

Royal Enfield Bullet 650 uses the familiar 647.95 cc parallel-twin motor kicking out 47 hp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque

The Royal Enfield Bullet nameplate has made a definitive move up the pecking order as it has now joined the flagship line of 650 cc motorcycles. Revealed to Indian audiences at MotoVerse 2025 following its global debut at EICMA in Milan, the Bullet 650 will slot right below the Classic 650 Twin and is expected to be launched soon in the domestic market.

Visually, it’s as traditional as they come, and that’s clearly the idea. The wide, round tank carries classic hand-lined pinstripes, the chrome-finished mudguards mirror old Bullets and the trademark pilot lamps sit up front. Even with LED lighting hardware being used across the motorcycle, Royal Enfield has made sure the glow, shapes and detailing stick close to the original model.

Powering it is the familiar 647.95 cc parallel-twin motor seen across the brand’s larger lineup. With 47 horsepower and 52.3 Nm on tap, this isn’t a performance-based machine. Instead, the tuning favours smooth roll-on torque and relaxed cruising as it targets riders seeking a touring machine. The six-speed transmission with a slipper clutch should make it more refined than any Bullet that’s come before it especially on highways.

Royal-Enfield-Bullet-650-3.jpg

The chassis setup also sticks to the brand’s old-school philosophy. A steel twin-downtube frame holds conventional telescopic forks at the front with 120 mm of travel while the rear gets twin shock absorbers offering 90 mm. Wheel sizes remain classic too with a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear – keeping the stance tall and planted on the road.

Braking duties of the Royal Enfield Bullet 650 are handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 300 mm rear unit – backed by a dual-channel ABS system as standard. Tyres measure 100/90 up front and 140/70 at the rear which should offer better stability than the narrower profiles seen on the smaller Bullet. It tips the scales at 243 kilograms and stretches over 2.3 metres in length.

Royal-Enfield-Bullet-650-Console.jpg

Ground clearance stands at 154 mm, seat height is pegged at 800 mm and the fuel tank can hold 14.8 litres. In overseas markets like the USA and UK, it has already been launched in shades like Cannon Black and Battleship Blue and these same colours will be available in India too. India pricing is still under wraps but given Royal Enfield’s local manufacturing advantage, it could cost around Rs. 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Crater Debuts Previewing Compact Off-Road SUV

GaadiWaadi -

Hyundai Crater Concept 2

Hyundai Crater Concept looks to be created to manoeuvre through rough terrain and is developed in California

Hyundai didn’t try to dazzle with numbers or promises at Automobility LA 2025. Instead, it hosted the world premiere of the Crater Concept as a design statement – a compact off-roader built to explore ideas more than sales charts according to the brand. Developed in California, it shows Hyundai’s current obsession with lifestyle mobility solutions.

The Hyundai Crater Concept looks to be created to manoeuvre through rough terrain. Its tight overhangs, upright stance and compact footprint suggest that it could cater to small narrow trails while being muscular enough to survive them. Every panel feels like it has been shaped with function in mind, following Hyundai’s evolving “Art of Steel” identity.

The lower half of the vehicle boasts massive protective skid plate which holds together the design visually and mechanically. Above it, wide fenders stretch over oversized 33-inch off-road tyres mounted on geometric and hexagon-inspired wheels. Hyundai says the pattern reflects a cosmic impact but on the ground it looks like something built to claw its way out of loose sand, rock and mud.

Hyundai-Crater-Concept-3.jpg

There is a roof rack designed for actual gear and lighting. Steel cables rise from the hood to the roof for branch protection when the trail closes in. Even the recovery hook hides a small party trick doubling as a bottle opener. The side mirrors detach to become portable lights or cameras – a clever solution for campsites or tight recovery situations.

On the inside, Hyundai ditches the usual premium SUV template. The cabin feels more like a controlled environment for off-grid travel. A full-width head-up display replaces traditional screens while the infotainment follows a bring-your-own-device concept allowing users to slot in their own gadgets instead of relying on built-in systems. The dashboard resembles bent steel with soft materials layered over it – lit subtly through perforations.

Hyundai Crater Concept Interior

The seats are heavily bolstered, wrapped in rugged materials and paired with four-point harnesses. A visible roll cage runs through the structure with grab handles integrated for stability over rough terrain. There is also practical gear pre-installed: a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit, physical off-road controls and even a removable Bluetooth speaker.

Visually, the matte Dune Gold paint captures the tone of California’s deserts and coastlines – shifting between muted green and warm gold under light. Meanwhile, the Black Ember theme focuses on black leather, Alcantara and metal to wear in rather than wear out. Hyundai has not confirmed whether it will enter production or not but the intention has always been there for a lifestyle off-road SUV.
