Toyota garnered a total of 30,737 units in February 2026 as against 26,414 units with a YoY growth of 16 per cent in India

Domestic sales for Toyota Kirloskar Motor stood at 30,737 units in February 2026 – showing a 16 per cent year-on-year increase compared to 26,414 units sold during the same period last year. On a month-on-month basis, sales remained almost unchanged as the company recorded 30,630 units in January 2026.

The brand finished fifth in the overall manufacturers’ sales standings with 7.3 per cent market share. Toyota’s growth continues to be supported by its own range of SUVs, MPVs and rebadged models developed through its partnership with Maruti Suzuki. Heading the way was the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder which recorded a total of 9,359 units.

The tally ensured a massive 117 per cent growth compared to 4,314 units sold during the same month in 2025. The month-on-month performance also improved slightly as the model registered 9,156 units in January 2026 with a 2 per cent increase. The strong hybrid demand and the ever-rising interest in midsize SUVs have helped the Hyryder achieve this growth.

JSW MG Motor To Launch 3 Electrified SUVs By Next Year

GaadiWaadi -

MG IM5 IM6 AUTO EXPO 2025 1

JSW MG Motor to launch a raft of new pure electric and hybrid/plug-in hybrid models by next year

Following the ICE-only Majestor, JSW MG Motor is likely to launch three electrified SUVs in India by next year. The company is planning a mix of locally manufactured and imported models. Around October, JSW MG Motor will launch the MG IM6, a D-segment SUV-coupe that will compete with the Tesla Model Y.

Internationally, it is offered in a single-motor RWD variant and a dual-motor AWD variant. The former features a 402 hp/500 Nm motor and a 96.5 kWh NCM battery pack. It hits 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 235 km/h. It covers a distance of 625 kilometres on a single charge, as per WLTP.

The dual-motor AWD variant, with 742 hp and 802 Nm of torque, hits 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds but achieves only a marginally higher top speed of 239 km/h. It has the same 96.5 kWh NCM battery pack, which gives it a WLTP range of 505 kilometres. JSW MG Motor may offer only the single-motor RWD variant in India. The company is likely to import it as CBU and sell it through MG Select dealerships.

Wuling Starlight 560

Sometime between October and December, JSW MG Motor will launch a new locally manufactured D-segment SUV in plug-in hybrid electric and pure electric variants. Internally referred to by the codename ‘MG 520,’ it will be a rebadged version of the Wuling Starlight 560, which is internationally available in 5- and 7-seat versions. India is said to get the three-row version.

In the Chinese version, the plug-in hybrid variant combines a1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 105 hp and 130 Nm of torque with an electric motor that generates 194 hp and 230 Nm of torque. The latter is powered by a 20.5 kWh LFP battery pack, which delivers a CLTC range of 125 kilometres.

2025-MG-ZS-EV-3.jpg

The pure electric variant employs a 134 hp/200 Nm motor and a 56.7 kWh LFP battery pack, and it can travel up to 500 kilometres on a single charge, also as per CLTC. The Indian configuration could be slightly different.

Sometime in 2027, JSW MG Motor will likely launch the successor to the MG ZS EV. This model will likely be based on the SAIC Intelligent Global Modular Architecture (SIGMA) multi-energy platform. We expect it to be larger than the ZS EV, measuring 4.4-4.5 metres in length. No other details are available at this point, but chances are JSW MG Motor could launch a hybrid or plug-in hybrid sibling of the same model for a greater mass appeal as well.

5 New Hyundai Creta Rivals Launching Soon In India – Key Info

GaadiWaadi -

Renault Duster (5)

India’s popular and fast-growing mid-size SUV to continue seeing an influx of launches through the second quarter of the year

From the all-new Tata Sierra to the all-new Kia Seltos and the Maruti e-Vitara, three mid-size SUVs went on sale in India at the beginning of this year. Four more Hyundai Creta rivals are likely to be launched in the next few months, further expanding the choice in the mid-size SUV segment:

1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Toyota-Urban-Cruiser-Ebella-.jpg

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is essentially the Maruti e Vitara with a more polished, European styling. A sleeker front, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, and tweaked tail lamps distinguish it from the original EV. It will be available in the same two single-motor FWD variants, one with a range of 440 kilometres and one with a range of 543 kilometres. Toyota Kirloskar Motor will likely launch the Urban Cruiser Ebella at the beginning of March.

New Renault Duster (11)

The third-generation Renault Duster will be launched in India on 17 March. The all-new model will be available with features such as a power tailgate, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a full map view, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, and 17 advanced driver assistance systems. Renault will offer it with 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engines initially and introduce a 1.8-litre petrol engine-based hybrid system option towards the end of the year.

3. New Skoda Kushaq

2026 Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo 2

The Skoda Kushaq has undergone a facelift and now features sharper and more high-tech styling. The Nissan Tekton, expected to be revealed in March and launched in April, will be the corporate cousin of the third-generation Renault Duster. It will be differentiated with a bolder exterior, with some inspiration from the seventh-generation Nissan Patrol. A sharper and boxier front-end would give it a more imposing look and clearly distinguish it from the Renault model. Features and specifications are likely to be mostly the same.

5. New VW Taigun

The VW Taigun will likely get a facelift and go on sale in the updated version in April.
