3 New Maruti Suzuki Cars Spied Testing In A Convoy – What Are They?

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti Suzuki YMC, Brezza Facelift, Baleno Facelift Spied

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch 3 new cars in India and they have now been spotted testing simultaneously

Three camouflaged Maruti Suzuki test mules have been caught together on a convoy run on Indian roads giving a rare glimpse at what the brand has in development simultaneously. The prototypes are wrapped in the typical stripe camouflage used during late stage testing and based on the proportions and silhouettes visible through the coverings, the three vehicles appear to be the Brezza facelift, the Baleno facelift and the YMC electric MPV.

1. Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift:

The most easily identifiable of the three is the Brezza facelift. The proportions are consistent with the current model – the same compact SUV footprint, five door layout and raised ride height are all visible. The rear section shows a slightly redesigned tail lamp cluster with what appears to be a connected light bar treatment while the alloy wheel design differs from the outgoing model.

It will get a thoroughly revised interior with larger touchscreen while a six-speed MT and underfloor mounted CNG tank will be other key updates.

2. Updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno:

The second prototype in the convoy looks to be the updated Baleno. The hatchback proportions are clearly visible through the camouflage with a lower, wider front end compared to the Brezza and a more sloped roofline. The rear end shows updated tail lamp positioning and bumper treatment. The Baleno facelift is expected to bring exterior styling revisions alongside interior upgrades including a larger touchscreen and improved connected features.

3. Maruti Suzuki YMC:

The third and most interesting prototype is the YMC – Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming seven seat electric MPV. The overall stance is noticeably taller and longer than the other two vehicles with a more upright greenhouse, pronounced rear overhang, a closed off front grille area and light bars at the front and back along with a boxy tailgate. The side profile reveals significant glass area across all three rows and a squared off rear section along with alloy wheels similar to the e Vitara.

Expected to share components with the e Vitara and measure around 4.5 metres in length, the YMC will be positioned as a practical family electric MPV competing with the likes of Kia Carens Clavis EV. The presence of all three prototypes on the same convoy run suggests that they are likely heading toward a series of launches spread across the remainder of 2026 and into early 2027.

5+ Upcoming Tata Cars You Should Wait For Over The Next 12 Months

GaadiWaadi -

tata avinya electric concept-2

Here is a brief look at the 6 upcoming Tata cars that are expected to launch in India over the next 12 months

Tata Motors closed FY2026 with its highest ever annual sales, a dominant EV market position and a product pipeline that keeps adding profound presence. At least six new launches are expected to be lined up for FY2026-27 across electric and conventional powertrains and here we have brought you a rundown:

1. Tata Sierra EV

The most immediate arrival is the Sierra EV which is confirmed by Tata Motors’ MD and CEO Shailesh Chandra for launch within the current quarter. Built on the Acti.ev+ platform and sharing underpinnings with the Harrier EV, it will slot above the Curvv EV in the lineup. Two battery options are expected – a 55 kWh pack and a larger 65 kWh unit with the bigger battery likely to return a real world range of over 500 km.

Single motor rear wheel drive and dual motor all wheel drive configurations are both expected along with fast charging, V2L and bidirectional charging support. A three screen cabin layout, Level 2 ADAS and dual zone climate control are among the key feature highlights. It will boast subtle visual changes over its ICE sibling.

The Tiago is due for a facelift that is expected to bring a redesigned exterior with sharper LED headlamps, updated bumpers and new aerodynamic wheel designs. Inside, a larger touchscreen, fully digital instrument cluster, improved material quality and better connected car features are speculated.

2026 Tata Tiago EV

The update is also expected to bring the 30 kWh battery pack from the recently updated Punch EV to the Tiago EV’s lineup pushing range considerably. The Tigor facelift may follow a similar path with corresponding updates across the petrol and EV versions bringing both nameplates in line with the fresher look and improved equipment.

Following the success of the Harrier EV, a fully electric version of the seven-seater Safari is also possible this FY. It will share the same platform and powertrain setup as the Harrier EV but add a third row of seating – making it the only three row electric SUV from a mainstream Indian manufacturer when it arrives. Battery options, range figures and feature set are expected to closely mirror the Harrier EV and it will take on Mahindra XEV 9S.

5. Tata Avinya EV

At the top of the range, the first production model from the Avinya sub brand is expected around early 2027. Built on a locally adapted version of JLR’s EMA architecture, it could debut as a sportback style premium electric vehicle targeting a segment Tata has not addressed before. Early indications point to a sleek roofline, a technology packed interior and a design language that will set the visual direction for future Avinya products.

Honda To Launch A New Sedan And Multiple New SUVs In India

GaadiWaadi -

Honda ZR-V

Honda’s new models coming to Indian showrooms in the near- to mid-term future to include ICE, hybrid, and also pure electric cars

Honda’s new global strategy places a much stronger emphasis on India than ever before. The company is realigning its approach to our market and working on several new cars primarily designed for Indian customers. On 22 May, Honda will roll out a second facelift for the fifth-generation City, and contrary to earlier speculations, it will be more extensive than the first one. The entire front-end of the 2026 City, including the hood, will be new.

The headlamps will be much slimmer and sharper, and the radiator grille, bumper, and lower air intake grille will also have a completely different look. The Honda logo will be ahead of the leading edge of the hood instead of on the radiator grille like the current model.

On the sides, the 2026 Honda City will feature new 16-inch alloy wheels, including an option for a full-black finish. There could be design changes at the back and on the inside, too, as well as a host of new features, including ventilated seats. No mechanical changes are expected with this refresh.

Along with the 2026 City, Honda will launch the ZR-V in India on 22 May. The Honda ZR-V is a global C-SUV positioned below the CR-V, and it will be a niche model in our market, imported as a CBU from Japan. Honda manufactures it in petrol and petrol-electric hybrid variants, but it will likely offer only the latter in our market.

The hybrid variant combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine that develops 104 kW (139 hp) and 182 Nm of torque and an electric motor that generates 135 kW (181 hp) and 315 Nm of torque. According to Japan’s WLTC method, it delivers a fuel economy of up to 22.1 km/l.

Sometime in the third quarter, Honda is expected to roll out a facelift for the Elevate. The new Elevate will likely feature a refreshed exterior with redesigned bumpers, tweaked headlamps and tail lamps, and new 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside, there could be several new features in the facelifted Elevate, including a digital instrument cluster and ventilated front seats.

In early 2027, Honda will launch the production version of the α concept introduced at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show. This will be a fully electric mid-size SUV, challenging the likes of Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. It will be manufactured locally, but with cells imported from Indonesia, which could make it pricey.

Honda-0-Alpha-1.jpg

In 2028, Honda will likely launch a new compact SUV designed to compete with the likes of Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet. This sub-4 metre model will likely be followed by a new mid-size product. The company has only shared that it will launch new models in these segments starting in 2028, without sharing any specific details.

5 New Compact SUVs To Be Launched In India By Next Year – Maruti To Kia

GaadiWaadi -

Renault Bridger Concept 3

From Mahindra to Maruti Suzuki, Kia, and Renault, Indian and international automakers to launch five new compact SUVs by 2027

Mid-size SUVs may have been stealing the headlines since the end of last year, but compact SUVs remain the most popular segment for the high-riding body style in India. In fact, over the course of the next 12-18 months, there will be at least five new compact SUVs coming to Indian showrooms.

1. New Maruti Vitara Brezza

The Maruti Vitara Brezza, the second generation of Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza series, is nearly four years old and due for a facelift. It will get a cosmetic refresh in the coming months to stay relevant in the highly competitive segment.

2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Spied CNG.jpg

The facelifted Brezza is likely to feature restyled bumpers, tweaked headlamps and tail lamps, new front grilles, and new 16-inch alloy wheels. Maruti Suzuki may use this opportunity to introduce new features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and a 360º camera system.

2. Mahindra Vision.S

The Mahindra Vision.S concept showcased last August is expected to reach showrooms in its production avatar in early 2027. Expected to be positioned above the Mahindra XUV 3XO, the new model will be aimed at customers seeking a more authentic SUV character and some extra ruggedness.

Mahindra Vision S (3)

The production version of the Vision.S will have a squarish shape and a high ground clearance, and some of that true SUV character will be seen in the interior as well, particularly in an upright dashboard with vertical AC vents. Mahindra will likely equip this model with features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats with power adjustment on the driver’s side, a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Level 2 ADAS. 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines are expected to be offered at launch.

3. Next-gen Kia Sonet

Sometime early next year, possibly in April, Kia will likely launch the fully redesigned, second-generation Sonet. Spy shots have revealed the next-gen Sonet will feature a sportier and more technical design. The interior, too, is expected to be completely new, featuring a more high-tech and contemporary design.

Next Gen Kia Sonet

Kia will likely offer the all-new Sonet with features such as a 12.3-inch HD digital instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate touchscreen, a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, front seat ventilation, power driver’s seat adjustment, and Level 2 ADAS. The company will likely launch the next-gen Sonet with the same engines and transmissions as the current model.

4. New Maruti Fronx

Maruti Fronx Hybrid
Maruti Fronx Hybrid

The Maruti Fronx should get a facelift in early 2027, bringing a refreshed exterior with the usual revisions to bumpers, lights, grilles, and wheels. Interior upgrades may include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, and a rear centre armrest. The most significant upgrade would be the introduction of a series-hybrid powertrain based on the Z12E 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine, expected to deliver a fuel economy of around 35 km/l.

5. Renault Bridger

Renault will likely launch the Bridger, its direct competitor to the production version of the Mahindra Vision.S concept, sometime in the third quarter of 2027. The Renault Bridger would also have a squarish exterior, but one that looks more mature and has a stronger road presence. Inside, too, the French SUV should be a visibly more refined product, both aesthetically and functionally.

renault bridger (6)

Renault is targeting 200 mm of ground clearance, a class-leading 200 mm of rear knee room, and 400 litres of boot space for the Bridger. 17-inch wheels, the largest in the segment, are also expected. The company will likely launch this model with a 1.2-litre petrol engine in naturally aspirated and turbocharged versions.

Toyota Model Wise April 2026 Sales- Hyryder, Innova, Glanza, Fortuner

GaadiWaadi -

Toyota Hyryder (2)

Innova, along with low-cost models based on Maruti Suzuki platforms, drive growth at Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) in April 2026

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) sold 30,159 cars in April 2026, which, compared to the same month last year, marked a 21% growth (April 2025: 24,833 units). The significant increase in the company’s sales was mainly owing to strong demand for the Innova and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Innova was TKM’s best-selling model in India in April 2026, but the Urban Cruiser Hyryder was very close. The company sold 9,630 units of the Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross combined last month. Compared to April 2025, this marked a 25% growth. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder registered 9,115 units in sales last month, recording a 96% year-on-year growth, the highest across the Toyota line-up.

The rest of the models in the line-up were far behind the Innova and Urban Cruiser Hyryder’s near-10,000 figures. The Glanza was third on the sales chart, with 3,360 units sold. The Maruti Baleno’s rebadged version saw a 19% year-on-year sales decline last month (April 2025: 4,132 units). The Toyota Rumion, which is similarly related to the Maruti Ertiga, registered 2,585 units in sales, which represented a 5% year-on-year growth (April 2025: 2,462 units).

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 4×4 To Likely Arrive In 2028 – All Key Details

GaadiWaadi -

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ (5)

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will likely be slotted below the Fortuner in the brand’s lineup, based on the IMV 0 architecture

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ will be one of the most significant launches from Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) in years, adding a brand-new locally manufactured original Toyota product to the line-up. However, even though it will be made in India, it is likely to be an expensive product priced at a high premium.

Featuring a body-on-frame structure and measuring 4,610 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,890 mm in height, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ could put in the same category as the Mahindra Scorpio-N. It’s a much more compact vehicle on the inside, though, with a short wheelbase spanning 2,580 mm.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is expected to cost around Rs. 30 lakh (ex-showroom) in the base trim. The top configuration could easily touch Rs. 40 lakh (ex-showroom), with reports stating TKM is planning not only an ICE variant but also full-hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.

Toyota Land cruiser FJ (6)

For now, Toyota has engineered the Land Cruiser FJ with only the 2TR-FE 2.7-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, tuned to produce 164 hp and 245 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic transmission and a part-time 4WD system send drive to the wheels. There are rumours that Toyota plans to introduce an upgraded version of the 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine sometime in 2029.

On the outside, the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ features LED headlamps, LED front and rear fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 265/60 R18 tyres, part-LED tail lamps, and a side-hinged tailgate with a centre-mounted spare wheel. Toyota does not offer a sunroof in the Land Cruiser FJ, although hardcore off-road enthusiasts, the model’s core target audience, are unlikely to view that as a drawback.

A semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch driver information display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system are some of the key interior features of the Land Cruiser FJ. Seven airbags, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Pre-Collision System, and a 360º camera system are some of the main safety features.
