Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM)’s Maruti Suzuki-derived models drive growth in October 2025, with the popular Innova series also making a significant contribution

Supported by lower GST rates and the typically higher demand during Diwali, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) registered solid growth in sales last month. The company’s deep-rooted collaboration with Maruti Suzuki mainly drove this momentum.

TKM sold 40,257 cars in October 2025, and compared to 28,138 units delivered in October 2024, this marked an impressive 43% growth. While the Innova family continued being the top individual seller, Maruti Suzuki-derived cars collectively accounted for a larger share of the volume than Toyota’s own models.

The Innova Crysta and Innova Hycross combined contributed 11,089 units to TKM’s October 2025 sales. Compared to October 2024 (8,838 units), the premium MPV series saw a 25% growth in sales. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the mechanical cousin of Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara, was the second-highest-selling model, with 11,555 units delivered. This marked a whopping 112% year-over-year growth (October 2024: 5,449 units).

3 New 7-Seater SUVs & 1 MPV Launching Soon (Confirmed Details)

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra-XUV.e8-Spotted-India-Launch.jpg

Mahindra, Tata and Nissan are set to bring in new models in the 7-seater segment and here we have explained them

The 7-seater compact and midsize segments are all prepared to see plenty of activity over the next three to four months as automakers like Mahindra, Tata and Nissan are set to introduce new offerings and here we have listed them:

1. Mahindra XEV 9S:

Mahindra is lining up yet another addition to its electric SUV range, and this one – the XEV 9S – will be positioned as the brand’s flagship three-row EV offering. Sitting alongside the XEV 9e and BE 6, or even a notch above them thanks to its cabin layout, the proportions and surfaces clearly echo cues from the XUV.e8 concept.

Mahindra-XEV-9S-Teased.jpg

The SUV is built on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform, the same architecture that forms the base for the XEV 9e and BE 6. With this, the 9S is expected to use the company’s latest motor and battery combinations. Top variants are likely to edge close to 500 km real-world range.

2. Tata Safari Petrol:

Tata Motors is finally ready to plug a major gap in its SUV lineup with the Safari and Harrier set to adopt petrol power for the very first time. The new engine is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged, direct-injection unit – known as Hyperion – producing around 168 PS and 280 Nm. Both manual and automatic options are planned, although the company is still guarding details on the type of automatic gearbox it has chosen.

These new petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari will roll out in December after the Sierra makes its debut later this month. With pricing expected to undercut the diesel variants, the petrol trims are targeted at buyers who don’t need diesel torque or long-distance economy.

3. Mahindra XUV 700 Facelift:

The facelifted version of the ICE XUV 700 has been spied several times on public roads and it will get minor cosmetic updates. However, the interior will be subjected to a major overhaul as a triple screen setup comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a driver’s display and a front passenger screen along with a host of new features will be available. It is expected to arrive early next year.

4. Nissan Compact MPV:

Nissan-C-SUV-Compact-MPV-2.jpeg

Nissan has already been caught testing the sub-four-metre MPV based on the same platform as the Renault Triber and it will go on sale early next year. It is part of a big product assault planned by the Japanese automaker as a new midsize SUV and a seven-seater SUV are also waiting in the pipeline. The upcoming MPV will be heavily localised and thus it will be competitively priced.

Hyundai Tucson Discontinued, Facelift Launch Likely Soon

2024 Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai discontinues Tucson in India, facelift version expected soon

The Hyundai Tucson has been delisted from the carmaker’s official Indian website, sparking speculation that the SUV has been discontinued. Dealers have stopped accepting new bookings, indicating that the current version has reached the end of its production run.

Launched in August 2022, the fourth-generation Tucson was offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre petrol engine produced 154 BHP and 192 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre diesel motor delivered 183 BHP and 416 Nm, coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The top-spec Signature Diesel variant was equipped with an all-wheel-drive system.

The SUV came well-loaded with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control and a 360-degree camera. Safety was also a key focus, with Level 2 ADAS, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, six airbags, ABS with EBD and hill-hold assist among its highlights.

In India, the Tucson competed with the Jeep Meridian, Skoda Kodiaq and Toyota Fortuner. While Hyundai has yet to make an official announcement, it is expected that a facelifted version of the Tucson could be introduced soon, in line with the global model update already available in other markets.

3 New Midsize Electric SUVs Launching Very Soon In India

GaadiWaadi -

Tata-Sierra-Electric-EV-Teased.jpg

Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Mahindra are all set to bring in three new midsize electric SUVs in the coming weeks; here we have given you all the necessary details

Three all-new battery-powered contenders are arriving within the next few weeks in the midsize SUV segment from Maruti Suzuki, Tata and Mahindra. Each of these upcoming models has a different agenda. Here’s a closer look at the trio that will target high volume sales:

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara (Launch in December)

Maruti Suzuki’s long-awaited midsize electric SUV will finally take shape as the e Vitara. The styling has taken a more aerodynamic direction with a sealed-off front end, new lighting elements and EV-focused alloy wheel design. The interior, too, has been put together with high grade materials and a more premium interface.

Built on the Heartect e platform, the e Vitara is likely to deliver real-world range figures hovering around the 500 km mark. It will be sold with two battery options and will give rise to a Toyota sibling in the form of the Urban Cruiser BEV sometime next year.

2. Mahindra XEV 9S (Debut on November 27)

Mahindra’s electric SUV assault continues with the XEV 9S, a model that will sit alongside the XEV 9e and BE 6 or slightly above due to its three-row configuration. Although the covers have not officially come off yet, early test mules and teasers have revealed design heavily inspired by the XUV.e8 concept and the regular ICE XUV700, which is also due a facelift in early 2026.

The brand has also confirmed that it will be underpinned by the same born-electric INGLO skateboard architecture found in the XEV 9e and BE 6. Under the skin, Mahindra’s latest battery modules and motor setups could push performance into a higher league with top-spec variants likely offering close to 500 km of driving range.

3. Tata Sierra EV (Debut on November 25)

Among all the upcoming launches, the Tata Sierra EV is undoubtedly the one drawing the most attention. Tata showed the SUV in its close-to-production form nearly three years ago. A full-width LED strip up front, the grille-free nose, upright rear, flush-fitting handles and the signature glasshouse silhouette pay homage to the original Sierra are some of the highlights.

Inside, Tata has gone all-out with a triple-screen setup, layered materials and a panoramic roof stretching deep into the rear cabin. The EV will share battery sizes with the Curvv EV and Harrier EV as the larger unit could deliver well above 500 km in everyday conditions.

Hyundai Creta (2)

Despite the industry-wide positive momentum because of reduced GST and the onset of the peak time of the festive season, Hyundai sees a decline in sales in October

Hyundai delivered 53,792 cars in India in October 2025, down 3% from 55,568 units in October 2024. The company was offering ten models in our market last month, but nearly its entire line-up was in the red.

The Creta remained in the pole position and recorded a 5% year-over-year growth in October 2025, going up from 17,497 units to 18,381 units. The first-gen Venue, despite being in its runout phase, logged an 8% year-over-year growth, registering 11,738 units in October 2025 sales as against 10,901 units in the same month last year. The only other Hyundai that saw an improvement in sales last month was the Aura, which went up 21%, from 4,805 units a year ago to 5,815 units.

On December 10, the second generation Kia Seltos is all set to make its global premiere in its home market of South Korea before likely debuting in markets like India in early 2026. A hybrid powertrain is also on the cards for global markets.

2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara 1

All-New Kia Seltos To Be Revealed On December 10 – Key Details

GaadiWaadi -

New-Kia-Seltos-Spied-Testing-1.jpg

New generation Kia Seltos will more likely make its world premiere next month before going on sale in markets like India in early 2026

Kia made its domestic debut with the Seltos back in 2019 and it has been instrumental in shaping up the brand along with the Sonet. Over the years, the competition in the midsize SUV segment has only gotten to newer heights and in response, Kia introduced the mid-life update for the Seltos a few years ago and now it is preparing to bring in a brand new model.

The new-gen Kia Seltos is expected to make its global debut on December 10, 2025 in South Korea before reaching markets like India in early 2026. The latest camouflaged prototypes leave little doubt that this will be the SUV’s most comprehensive overhaul since its introduction. Nearly every exterior panel seems to have been reworked and it takes inspiration from the recently unveiled global Telluride.

The front section has gained a more upright nose which now frames a brand new grille with an intricate mesh-style pattern. Flanking it are vertically stacked LED headlights that connect visually with C-shaped LED daytime running lights stretching into the outer bumper edges. The bonnet gets deeper creases while the bumper has grown chunkier.

Viewed from the side, the SUV continues to hold that balanced stance but with refreshed detailing. The new Y-shaped dual-tone alloys, prominent wheel arches and a distinct triangular rear-quarter window subtly change its proportions. At the rear, redesigned C-shaped LED taillights are linked by a slim light bar while the tailgate and bumper are new as well.

On the inside, the cabin is expected to be completely redone. The new dashboard will follow a flatter, wider layout complemented by more upmarket soft touch materials and new textures. A larger floating touchscreen will take centre stage – sitting alongside a digital instrument cluster in a single connected housing. Expect ambient lighting and upgraded infotainment software too.

The familiar equipment such as ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat with memory, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control and six airbags should continue, though the technology package could see upgrades. The new Seltos is also expected to integrate additional ADAS functions for improved its safety credentials.

Mechanically, the SUV is set to retain its tried-and-tested trio of powertrains – the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines – all offered with manual and automatic gearbox options. However, there’s growing talk of a hybrid version being added later in the lifecycle for several markets, perhaps India too. Internationally, the SUV could also gain an all-wheel-drive option for select trims – something that may not make it to the Indian lineup.
