A wave of new premium SUVs priced from 10-45 lakh rupees (ex-showroom) coming to the Indian market in the next two months
India has seen a surge of premium SUV launches recently, including the all-new Tata Sierra, the all-new Kia Seltos, the new MG Hector, and the Mahindra XUV 7XO. The momentum will continue, as MG rolls out another model soon, followed by new launches from Nissan and Volkswagen by March.
1. MG Majestor
JSW MG Motor is expected to launch the MG Majestor next month, the new ladder-frame three-row SUV it unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025. The Majestor is a facelifted version of the Gloster, but the use of a new name indicates the company may continue selling the old model alongside. It features a noticeably different exterior with changes like a more aggressive grille, split headlamps, and more prominent skid plates.
The interior of Majestor has been designed to look more high-tech, with a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system being the key changes. New comfort features and driver assistance technologies are also expected, but any mechanical changes are unlikely.

2. Nissan Tekton
Nissan has developed a new Hyundai Creta rival based on the CMF-B LS platform, called Tekton, and it will unveil the model on 4 February. This model will be a mechanical cousin of the third-gen Renault Duster that will be unveiled on 26 January. The Terrano successor will feature a sharper and more upmarket exterior inspired by the Patrol. The headlamps, grilles, bumpers, and 18-inch alloy wheels will carry a more upmarket look compared to the Renault model.
Inside, the Nissan Tekton will likely feature the same layout as the Renault Duster, with changes limited to the materials, colour schemes, decorative elements, and branding. Nissan may launch the Tekton with 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engines in March and roll out a hybrid system a year later.

3. VW Tayron
The VW Tayron, the corporate cousin of the Skoda Kodiaq, will debut later this month and likely be launched in February. It is 4.8 metres long, 1.9 metres wide, and 1.7 metres tall, and it has a 2.8-metre wheelbase. It is made in five- and seven-seat versions, and both are expected to be offered in India, although the latter could be the priority for Volkswagen.

Volkswagen will likely launch the Tayron with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 150 kW (201 hp) and 320 Nm of torque, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a permanent all-wheel drive system as standard. 18-inch alloy wheels, a kick-activated tailgate, front seats with a massage function, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system will likely be among the key features of the Tayron in India.
