India’s mid-size SUV blitz saw the all-new Tata Sierra, all-new Kia Seltos, and all-new Renault Duster break cover recently, not to forget the all-electric Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella. On 4 February, an all-new Nissan model will join the fray – the Tekton. Here are the top ten features that you can expect from the Nissan Tekton:

1. Google built-in

The Nissan Tekton will likely feature a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in. Frequently used apps like Google Maps and Google Assistant would be built into the system, providing convenient access without requiring pairing the smartphone. Additional native apps would be available via Google Play.

In the future, the Nissan Tekton’s infotainment system will likely get Google Gemini in place of Google Assistant via a software update. The AI assistant would enable human-like natural dialogue and understand more complex commands.

3 New Hyundai Cars Spotted On Test In India – Key Launch Details

Hyundai to launch a slew of new budget and premium cars in India in the next twelve months, with the first launch expected in April

Hyundai has lined up multiple new launches for the next twelve months, most of which will be locally manufactured cars priced well under 15 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). The company has started testing some of these cars on public roads already, and three models have been caught behind the lens during this development phase: the new Verna, the new Exter, and a new compact SUV.

Launched in early 2023, the sixth-generation Hyundai Verna will undergo a facelift next facelift in the second quarter of the year, possibly as early as April. The new Verna will adopt a more dynamic exterior with design cues borrowed from the latest Sonata. Spy shots suggest it will feature a sportier front-end, courtesy of a new grille layout, redesigned headlamps, and a revised bumper.

Inside, the facelifted Verna will likely feature a redesigned dashboard and curved panel in the cockpit area that integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both new displays will run Hyundai’s latest ccNC software with a more upscale UI and several new functions. Hyundai won’t introduce any changes to the engines or transmissions with the mid-cycle refresh.

The Hyundai Exter, which was launched in mid-2023, will likely undergo a mid-cycle refresh soon after the sixth-gen Verna. Spy shots have yet to reveal any changes to the headlamps or tail lamps, but at least restyled bumpers and redesigned grilles are expected on the new model. These images have also confirmed new 15-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. Hyundai does not offer 16-inch alloy wheels like Tata Motors does on the Punch, and that’s likely to remain unchanged.

The interior of the new Exter may incorporate a redesigned dashboard and two new displays featuring Android Automotive OS – a 9.9-inch driver information display and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Hyundai is unlikely to introduce any changes to the engines or transmissions, but it may begin offering a 5-speed AMT option with the CNG engine.

The new compact SUV from Hyundai is likely to be the pure electric model codenamed ‘HE1i,’ based on the same platform as the Inster sold in Europe. It will feature a boxy body, raised roof rails, and a high ground clearance for an authentic SUV look, along with futuristic details like flush-fitted door handles and pixel-inspired daytime running lights and tail lights.

The Hyundai HE1i is expected to be offered with battery packs consisting of LFP cells sourced from Exide Energy Solutions in India. Hyundai could be targeting a range of somewhere between 375 and 400 kilometres. It could unveil this model at Auto Expo 2027, scheduled to take place from 4 to 9 February 2027.

BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro Debuts – Specs, Performance, Features & More

Pre-bookings for the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro are already open and it will officially go on sale on February 16 in India

Recently we told you that BMW India had opened pre-bookings for the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro and now more details and specifications have been revealed about the new top-of-the-line variant of the popular X3 series. Prices for the new variant will be announced on February 16, 2026 and it will be positioned above the existing petrol and diesel variants currently on sale.

The BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine supported by a 48V mild-hybrid system. The powertrain delivers 258 hp max power and 400 Nm of peak torque. Power is transmitted through an eight-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels via BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

BMW states that the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3 seconds. The claimed fuel efficiency stands at 14.61 kmpl. The existing X3 lineup continues with two additional engine options. The xDrive20 petrol variant produces 190 hp and 310 Nm of torque and records a claimed 0–100 kmph time of 7.8 seconds. The xDrive20d diesel variant generates 197 hp and 400 Nm and completes the same sprint in 7.7 seconds.

The M Sport Pro variant features specific exterior elements to differentiate itself from the regular model. Some of the highlights are a gloss black kidney grille section, red-painted brake callipers, 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/45 section front and 285/40 section rear tyres, sleek LED headlamps and LED tail lamps, illuminated grille surround and M badging.

The luxury SUV is offered in a new Brooklyn Grey exterior colour, in addition to Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Tanzanite Blue and Dune Grey. Overall dimensions remain unchanged across all variants. The BMW X3 measures 4,755 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and 1,660 mm in height with a wheelbase length of 2,865 mm.

The cabin layout and equipment levels are shared with other X3 variants. The dashboard incorporates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Standard features include a panoramic glass roof, three-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging, a head-up display and a powered tailgate. The front seats are electrically adjustable and ventilated with memory function for the driver’s seat.

Audio output is handled by a 15-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Interior finishes comprise soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels with interior colour options available in Espresso Brown and Calm Beige. Safety and driver assistance features include a 360-degree camera system, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake with auto-hold functionality and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. The BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro will compete with the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60, Lexus NX and Land Rover Discovery Sport.

New Hyundai Exter (Facelift) Spied For The First Time

Launched in July 2023, the Hyundai Exter micro-SUV will undergo a mid-cycle refresh just around its third anniversary

The facelifted Hyundai Exter has hit the public roads for testing ahead of its expected launch in the second quarter of the year. The upcoming micro-SUV will rival the recently launched facelifted Tata Punch, which is currently the most compelling product in its segment.

Hyundai has been known to bring full model change-like design revisions on its cars with mid-cycle refreshes, but it seems the Exter might not be one of them. First spy shots of the new Exter suggest that it won’t have extensive design revisions and will retain the familiar character.

The camouflaged test mule seen in the spy shots features the same split headlamps as the current model, with the daytime running lights generating an H signature. The tail lamps also appear to have the same design, mirroring the H signature of the DRLs at the front.

While the Tata Punch is available with 16-inch alloy wheels, the Hyundai Exter is available with 15-inch alloy wheels, which limits its aesthetic appeal as an SUV. The spy shots suggest that it will continue with the smaller size wheels, but in a sporty new five-spoke design. The front grille and bumpers should carry most of the other design changes.

Inside, the new Hyundai Exter may have more extensive changes, such as a redesigned dashboard, a new steering wheel, a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster, and a larger, 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new displays will likely run Google’s Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and significantly improve usability.

Hyundai is unlikely to roll out any mechanical changes with the facelift. The company may offer the Exter with the same 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine in petrol and CNG versions. The naturally aspirated engine develops 61 kW (82 hp) and 113.8 Nm of torque running on petrol and 50.5 kW (68 hp) and 95.2 Nm of torque running on CNG. The company could extend the availability of the 5-speed automated manual transmission option to the CNG version, though.

The prices of the new Hyundai Exter will likely start at around 5.8 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). In addition to the new Tata Punch, it will compete with the Maruti Ignis.

Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up To Come With Car-Like Premium Features

Codenamed Mahindra Z121, the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio pickup truck will be designed to compete with global models much better than its predecessor

Alongside a facelift for the Scorpio-N, Mahindra is working on a pickup truck derived from the body-on-frame SUV. Expected to be called the Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up, it will be the successor to the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway.

The Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up will be a significantly more upmarket product than the compact pickup truck that was based on the original Scorpio, now sold with a Classic suffix. Latest spy shots suggest that it will be available with features like a single-pane sunroof, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system.

The interior of the Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up will look even more modern than the Scorpio-N, being equipped with an electronic parking brake. This will also free up more storage space in the centre console. That said, Mahindra will likely bring this feature to the Scorpio-N with the upcoming refresh. Like the SUV, the pickup truck will feature two-tone brown and black upholstery to give the cabin a premium look.

As evident in the concept version Mahindra showcased in 2023, the Scorpio Pik Up should have an exterior similar to the Scorpio-N. Expect its shared elements to include double-barrel LED headlamps, a high-set bonnet, and pronounced wheel arches. Mahindra will likely offer the new pickup truck in double-cab and single-cab versions.

Mahindra may introduce the Scorpio Pik Up with the same set of turbocharged diesel and petrol engines as the Scorpio-N. The base option could be a 2.0-litre petrol mill producing 149.14 kW (200 hp) and 370 (with 6-speed MT)/380 Nm (with 6-speed AT) of torque.

Above that, expect a 2.2-litre diesel unit that develops 97 kW (130 hp) and 300 Nm of torque, exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission. The top option should be a 2.2-litre diesel unit that churns out 128.6 kW (172 hp) and 370 Nm (with 6-speed MT)/400 Nm (with 6-speed AT) of torque.

The Mahindra Scorpio Pik Up will likely be unveiled in the second half of the year. It is likely to be targeted more at international markets such as Australia and South Africa, where there’s a big demand for pickup trucks, than India. In the domestic market, Mahindra may position it more as a lifestyle vehicle than a commercial vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the extensively updated S-Class which sees over half of its components newly developed or significantly reworked in its new avatar. The front fascia features a larger and more dominant radiator grille which can be specified with illumination for the first time. It is coupled with Digital Light headlamps that introduce a new twin-star light signature – making the car instantly recognisable at night.

Subtle detailing including revised bumpers, new lighting graphics and new chrome elements gives the S-Class a more appealing road presence. The cabin continues to feel like a luxury lounge but now with a more advanced digital foundation. The S-Class debuts the Mercedes-Benz Operating System, or MB.OS, which acts as a central computer linking infotainment, comfort, safety and driving assistance systems.

Over-the-air updates help to ensure the car remains current long after delivery while the latest MBUX interface offers faster responses, cleaner menus and more natural voice interaction. The optional First-Class rear configuration turns the back seat into a fully connected executive space – complete with large individual displays, advanced seat functions and enhanced ambient control.

Mercedes-Benz has also added new comfort features such as heated seat belts, improved air filtration and smarter climate management in the new model. Under the bonnet, the new S-Class introduces updated electrified powertrains with improved performance while reducing emissions. Buyers will have access to revised six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, a powerful V8 and a plug-in hybrid option depending on the market.

All engines benefit from mild-hybrid technology which is said to ensure smoother acceleration, quieter operation and start-stop functionality. The plug-in hybrid, in particular, offers higher electric output and more intuitive energy management than before. Ride quality, a core S-Class trait, has been taken up another notch. The sedan is equipped with Airmatic air suspension as standard while higher variants can be specified with E-Active Body Control for advanced road surface scanning and body control.

Rear-axle steering comes as standard this time around – significantly improving low-speed manoeuvrability while upping high-speed stability. The new flagship sedan also features an enhanced restraint system with advanced Pre-Safe technologies and up to 15 airbags – offering protection for occupants in all seating positions. Driving assistance systems have also been upgraded with improved sensors and processing.

7-Seater VW Tayron All Details Revealed – Specs, Performance, Features & More

Volkswagen Tayron is equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine kicking out 201 bhp and 320 Nm

Volkswagen is preparing to raise the stakes in India’s premium SUV space with the introduction of the Tayron R-Line – a global seven-seater positioned as the brand’s most upmarket offering yet. Slotted above Volkswagen’s current SUV portfolio, the Tayron uses a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine which is tuned to deliver around 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque.

The powertrain is hooked with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Crucially, Volkswagen equips the Tayron with its all-wheel-drive system as standard. In addition to performance, size and practicality play a major role in the Tayron’s positioning. Its local assembly has commenced at VW’s local plant ahead of launch.

With an overall length of 4,770 mm and a 2,789 mm wheelbase, the SUV offers a long and spacious footprint that accommodates three rows of seating. Luggage capacity is equally top notch with 345 litres available with all seats up and a massive 850 litres when the third row is folded which could make it suitable for both family duties and long road trips.

The Tayron R-Line is an amalgamation of Volkswagen’s modern SUV styling with sportier accents unique to the R-Line badge. The SUV features sculpted bodywork, a wide stance and clean panels accentuated by R-Line-specific bumpers, badging and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Lighting is also a key highlight with HD Matrix LED headlamps, animated cornering functions and illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear.

Variable LED tail lamp signatures further up its premium presence while a five-star Euro NCAP rating confirms its global safety credentials. Step inside, and the Tayron makes its flagship intent apparent. The cabin centres around a large 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system working in tandem with a fully digital driver’s display.

Other key bits are a three-zone climate control system, a panoramic sunroof and customisable 30-colour ambient lighting. The front seats are equipped with ergoActive Plus technology, offering ventilation, memory functions and a multi-point massage system while a Harman Kardon audio setup with 11 speakers handles in-cabin entertainment.

Safety and driver assistance are equally comprehensive. The Tayron R-Line comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, nine airbags including a central airbag, a 360-degree camera and Park Assist Plus. Adding to its credentials, the Tayron has also been awarded the Golden Steering Wheel 2025 for Best Family Car in Europe. Once launched, it will square off against established names such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Jeep Meridian.
