We are almost mid-way through this year and already a plethora of cars and SUVs have been launched in the country. However, the coming 6-8 months are going to be even more thrilling as several highly-anticipated models will go on sale in the Indian market. The South-Korean brands namely Hyundai and Kia will also introduce a few new products, including ICE-powered vehicles and EVs, to strengthen their position in the domestic market. Hence, in this piece, we will talk in detail about the upcoming Hyundai and Kia cars in 2025-26 in India.

1. New-Gen Hyundai Venue

Internally codenamed as QU2i, the new-gen Hyundai Venue will be launched during the Diwali festive season (Sep-Oct) later this year in the Indian market. It will come with a radical cosmetic makeover and new features while retaining the same engine-transmission options. The SUV has already been spotted multiple times during its test runs, revealing a lot of details. The new-gen Venue SUV will be the first Hyundai model to be manufactured at the brand’s newly acquired Talegaon factory in Maharashtra.

Kia India recently introduced the Carens Clavis MPV with petrol and diesel engines in the domestic market. Now, we have learnt that its electric counterpart will go on sale in the next couple of months, i.e. July 2025. The Carens Clavis EV was recently captured on camera and it appears identical to the ICE-powered model, except for a handful of EV-specific cosmetic updates. The all-electric MPV is likely to borrow the 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs from Hyundai Creta EV with identical driving range of around 390 km and 473 km, respectively, on a single charge.

3. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Facelift

The all-electric SUV had its global debut in March 2024 while it is expected to launch in India by the end of 2025 or early 2026. The e-SUV was recently spied testing in our country for the first time. Besides the significant visual updates, the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 facelift gets a bigger battery pack of 84 kWh which delivers a driving range of up to 570 km on a full charge with a RWD setup. For reference, the ongoing model of Ioniq 5 went on sale over two years back during Auto Expo 2023 in India.

4. Kia Syros EV

Kia Syros sales started in Jan 2025 across the country. The South-Korean brand is also working on an all-electric version of the SUV which will be rolled out in the first quarter of 2026 in India. It will be at loggerheads with Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 4OO. Built on Hyundai Inster’s K1 platform, Kia Syros EV will be a front-wheel-drive model. The 42 kWh and 49 kWh NMC battery packs of Hyundai Inster could make their way in the Syros EV with a driving range of 300 km and 355 km, respectively, on a full charge.

These are four confirmed Hyundai and Kia cars that will be launched in the coming 6-8 months in India. However, we could also witness a few special/limited editions of the existing cars going on sale. The production of the Range Rover SV Masāra Edition is limited to just 12 units and it pays homage to Indian heritage with multiple enhancements

Crafted in a batch limited to only 12 units, the Range Rover SV Masāra Edition is a bespoke offering conceived exclusively for India. Its title, ‘Masāra’, rooted in Sanskrit, is said to be chosen to reflect a direct connection to Indian heritage. The exterior wears a deep satin blue shade, taking tonal inspiration from rare Himalayan sapphires.

Meanwhile, silver chrome detailing and Corinthian Bronze accents stretch across the roof, mirrors and trim. Its 23-inch Oblivion 1077 wheels, turned with diamond precision, feature gloss dark grey contrast finishes and black brake callipers. The interior boasts a fusion of Liberty Blue and Perlino leathers, offset by chrome detailing, white ceramic elements and custom embroidery unique to this edition.

In addition, light cream ash Burr veneer panels add texture and depth, extending across the cabin in sweeping, uninterrupted lines. The SV-branded treadplates bearing ‘Masāra Edition’ and ‘1 of 12’ further underlines the rarity of the vehicle. The personalised scatter cushions and specially treated seat upholstery complete the bespoke visual nature of the Range Rover SV Masāra Edition.

For greater comfort, reclining seats with integrated footrests, a deployable club table, dedicated cupholders and a chilled storage unit housing SV-etched glassware turn the cabin into a mobile lounge are also available. Beneath the bonnet lies a familiar 4.4L V8 engine producing a maximum power output of 606 hp and 750 Nm of peak torque.

Deliveries for Ola Electric’s new Roadster X series of motorcycles are now underway as the Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer begins customer handovers. In a bid to pull early interest, the company is extending introductory benefits worth Rs. 10,000 to the first 5,000 consumers. The offer, as part of its ‘Ride the Future’ campaign, bundles in an extended warranty, Essential Care support and access to MoveOS+ features at no extra cost.

The Ola Roadster X lineup is equipped with a chain-driven mid-mounted motor paired to an integrated MCU that manages torque distribution. The acceleration and energy efficiency are said to benefit from this setup. The flat-style wiring looms – an unusual element in motorcycles – have been adopted to reduce thermal loads, bring down overall mass and free up packaging space.

As for the braking system, Ola has introduced a patent-backed brake-by-wire configuration paired with a single-channel ABS – certainly a key feature in this segment. The battery unit comes rated for IP67 water and dust resistance while the internal construction benefits from enhanced wire bonding. The Battery Management System is also built to be user-serviceable, simplifying upkeep according to the brand.

On the software side, MoveOS 5 adds several usability upgrades such as reverse mode, regenerative braking profiles and cruise assist. The inner hardware and electronic enhancements are shared across variants. The Roadster X lineup comprises five trims. Prices begin at Rs. 99,999 for the entry-level 2.5 kWh model.

The mid-spec 3.5 kWh version is tagged at Rs. 1,09,999 and the 4.5kWh trim sits slightly above at Rs. 1,24,999. The Roadster X+ 4.5 kWh follows at Rs. 1,29,999. At the top of the range, the Roadster X+ 9.1kWh – featuring the new 4680 Bharat Cell – offers a claimed range of 501 km per charge and is listed at Rs. 1,99,999 (all prices, ex-showroom).

The base version clocks a top speed of 105 kmph and handles the 0 to 40 kmph sprint in 3.4 seconds delivering a claimed range of 140 km on a single charge. Stepping up, the mid-level variant bumps the top speed to 118 kmph, cuts the sprint time down to 3.1 seconds and stretches the range to 196 km. At the top of the trio, the 4.5 kWh model matches the same acceleration and top speed as the 3.5 kWh but offers a higher range of up to 252 km.

On June 3, Tata will officially launch the Harrier EV in two battery configurations with e-AWD system in the top-end variants. It will boast a claimed range of over 500 km per charge. The much-anticipated 1.5L GDi petrol engine is set to debut in the Harrier and Safari before this fiscal year closes.

Delivering 168 PS and 280 Nm, this turbocharged unit will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Additionally, plans to revive the Sierra nameplate in both internal combustion and electric versions are underway this FY.

Renault has confirmed the Boreal nameplate for its upcoming 7-seater SUV. Based on the Dacia Bigster, the Boreal is expected to arrive in India in the second half of 2026. The new three-row SUV will share the CMF-B platform with the Duster, and it will measure 230 mm longer than the Duster with an extended wheelbase of 43 mm. Under the hood, the Boreal will share the powertrain with the Duster, including the 154 bhp 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine and the 140 bhp 1.6-litre petrol strong hybrid option is also under consideration for India-spec models.

3. Honda New 7-Seater SUV

Honda will introduce a 7-seater SUV in its India line-up and it is expected to be launched in 2027. Likely to be positioned above the Elevate, the upcoming 7-seater SUV will likely be the first model to be based on the new PF2 platform. The design and development of the three-row SUV is said to be handled by Honda’s Japan and Thailand-based R&D centres with major input from India. We expect the 7-seater SUV to get the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and strong hybrid engine options.

4. Hyundai 7-Seater Hybrid SUV

Internally codenamed Ni1i, Hyundai is developing a new 7-seater hybrid SUV for India. Expected to launch in 2027, the 3-row SUV will rival the likes of Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. It will be positioned above Alcazar in the brand’s line-up. The 1.6-litre strong hybrid setup doing duty in multiple Hyundai and Kia models internationally could power the 7-seater SUV. However, the Korean carmaker could plonk a hybrid system to its 1.5 NA petrol engine, in order to get a cost advantage, which will also be shared with the next-gen Creta.

5. Kia Hybrid 3-Row SUV

Kia is considering a new 7-seater SUV for the Indian market and it will be based on the Sorento SUV sold in overseas markets. Internally codenamed MQ4i, the 3-row SUV is expected to launch in 2027 and will be positioned above the Seltos in the brand’s line-up. As per the reports, the Kia hybrid SUV will use the 1.5-litre NA petrol engine paired with a strong hybrid setup and it will be shared with the next-gen Seltos, which is due for a launch next year.

6. Volkswagen Tayron

Volkswagen Tayron is ready to go on sale in India and it is expected to arrive around the festive season. Based on the brand’s MQB EVO platform, it is essentially the 7-seater version of the latest Tiguan, which is currently selling in its R-Line guise in the domestic market. The India-spec Tayron will most likely use the familiar 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, putting out 204 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox with AWD as standard. We expect the Tayron to be priced at around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Motors introduced the refreshed Altroz in the Indian market a few days ago with a handful of visual revisions to keep the premium hatchback feeling current. The update brings in a redesigned grille, a reworked front bumper and flush-fitting door handles. Tata has replaced the earlier projector setup with a complete LED lighting system up front. At the rear, a new connected LED tail lamp strip stretches across the width, lending a more modern appearance. Buyers can now choose from Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S trim levels.

Built on Tata’s ALFA architecture, the updated Altroz maintains its focus on occupant safety and ease of access featuring six airbags, electronic stability control and doors engineered to open a full 90 degrees.
