Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available in two battery packs and customer deliveries will begin in the weeks following its market launch
Maruti Suzuki has officially confirmed that the e Vitara will launch in January. From the outside, the e Vitara looks entirely different from the current crop of Maruti Suzuki models. The key design highlights are tilted Y-shaped LED DRLs, a closed-off front grille, sleek LED headlamps and tail lamps, a shark-fin antenna and large 18-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels doing the heavy lifting. Buyers will also have plenty of choice when it comes to colours, with a total of 11 shades on offer.
The dual-tone options pair a Bluish Black roof with Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, Arctic White and Nexa Blue. Those preferring simpler finishes can opt for Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, Arctic White, Opulent Red, Bluish Black or Land Breeze Green. The cabin uses a soft-touch dual-tone theme, complemented by soft-touch door pads and fabric seats.
Ambient lighting adds a bit of flair during night drives while thoughtful touches like footwell lighting and reading lamps should help improve everyday usability. The driving position benefits from tilt and telescopic steering adjustment. The e Vitara gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital driver display, connected car tech, an Infinity sound system and automatic climate control.

Other highlights are keyless entry, push-button start, multiple USB charging ports and an air purifier, drive modes, seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, front and rear parking sensors and an electronic parking brake. Importantly, the e Vitara has already secured a five-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests.
It is based on the dedicated skateboard Heartect-e platform which will give rise to a Toyota sibling in India in 2026. Both will share the 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs with the former capable of a claimed range of 344 km in the WLTP cycle while latter is certified to return a range of 543 km on a single charge. The e Vitara develops 174 PS and 192.5 Nm in the larger battery version courtesy of a single e-motor setup.

Maruti Suzuki is said to be developing a compact MPV that will slot in below the Ertiga in its lineup – targeting the sub-four-metre segment. Planned for a possible market entry around 2027 or 2028, the model is likely to take clear design and packaging cues from the Japan-market Spacia. Power is expected to come from a locally engineered strong-hybrid petrol setup.
