Mahindra’s premium three-row ICE SUV getting a major overhaul next month, along with a new name to better align with the company’s new nomenclature
The Mahindra XUV 700 is set to undergo a mid-life facelift soon, and with this update, it will be renamed to ‘Mahindra XUV 7XO.’ The new model will feature a range of upgrades across aspects, including styling, comfort, convenience, connectivity, and safety. Mahindra opened the order books for its XUV 7XO yesterday. Interested buyers can place a reservation by paying a booking amount of Rs. 21,000. Here are the top five changes you can expect on the upcoming SUV:
1. New front

The Mahindra XUV 7XO will feature a bolder and more assertive front fascia. Sharper headlamps, a more imposing six-slot upper grille, a larger lower grille, and an edgier bumper are among the updates one can look forward to here.

2. Bigger wheels

Mahindra has confirmed that it will offer the XUV 7XO with wheels in multiple sizes ranging up to 19 inches. The 19-inch alloy wheels will feature a two-tone finish and be wrapped in Ceat SportDrive 235/55 R19 tyres. They should give the new model a more commanding stance and a greater road presence.
3. New rear

The Mahindra XUV 7XO will have new tail lamps, with a partly clear bottom section featuring a honeycomb pattern. This design will likely closely resemble its pure electric equivalent – the XEV 9S. Like on the electric model, the tail lamps should feature a simple tailgate appliqué instead of a cliché light strip between them.

4. Two-spoke steering wheel

Mahindra could equip the XUV 7XO with a two-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated brand logo, aimed at giving the new model a more luxurious and high-tech appearance. The new design might not appeal to customers who prefer conventional, authentic SUV styling, though.
5. Triple dashboard displays
The Mahindra XUV 7XO could feature a redesigned dashboard with a trio of 12.3-inch high-definition displays, including a passenger touchscreen. The passenger touchscreen will likely have built-in and downloadable apps to play casual games, stream TV series, movies, and music, and shop online.

Mahindra plans to start accepting pre-bookings for the XUV 7XO with a deposit of 21,000 rupees at 12:00 PM on 15 December, although some dealerships have already started taking reservations unofficially. The company will announce the new model’s prices on 5 January 2026 and commence deliveries in the same month.
