2026 Kia Seltos Launched, Priced From Rs. 10.99 Lakhs

2026 Kia Seltos - Price List

Second generation Kia Seltos debuts with new platform, larger size & premium features

Kia India has launched the second-generation Seltos in India at an introductory starting price of Rs. 10.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Bookings for the midsize SUV have been open since December 11 for a token amount of Rs. 25,000, with deliveries scheduled to begin from mid-January.

The new Seltos is underpinned by an all-new platform and is larger than its predecessor, marking a significant generational update. Introductory prices range from Rs. 10.99 lakhs to Rs. 19.99 lakhs, positioning it firmly in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.

Design and dimensions

The latest Seltos adopts Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, resulting in a sharper and more upright appearance compared to the outgoing model. Key exterior elements include a wide grille housing the primary headlamp units, vertically stacked LED daytime running lights, gloss black cladding, retractable door handles, blacked-out pillars and a full-width LED light bar at the rear.

In terms of size, the new model measures 4460 mm in length, 1830 mm in width and 1635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2690 mm. Compared to the previous generation, it is 95 mm longer, 30 mm wider and gains an additional 80 mm in wheelbase, translating into improved cabin space.

Interior and features

Inside, the cabin has been redesigned to offer a more premium experience. The dashboard is dominated by twin 12.3-inch screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, separated by a 5-inch display for climate controls. A new flat-bottom steering wheel with an offset Kia logo and a mix of physical buttons and touch controls add to the modern layout.

The feature list is extensive and includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera and a 10-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. Audio duties are handled by an eight-speaker Bose sound system, while connected car technology is also offered.

On the safety front, the SUV comes with six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, disc brakes on all four wheels, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child-seat mounts and a reverse camera. The new platform is claimed to offer higher bodyshell rigidity, which could help the Seltos achieve a high safety rating under Bharat NCAP.

Powertrain options

Mechanically, the new-generation Seltos continues with the same engine lineup as the outgoing model. Buyers can choose from three 1.5-litre engines: a naturally aspirated petrol producing 115 HP, a diesel delivering 116 HP and a turbo-petrol unit developing 160 HP.

Transmission options include a six-speed manual and CVT for the naturally aspirated petrol, a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic for the diesel, and a six-speed iMT or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic for the turbo-petrol variant. Kia has also confirmed that a petrol-hybrid powertrain is in development, with an expected launch timeline around 2027.

Market positioning

The new Seltos will continue to compete in one of India’s most crowded segments, taking on rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Tata Sierra and the upcoming Renault Duster.

With a new platform, expanded dimensions and a comprehensive feature set, the second-generation Seltos represents a major step forward for Kia in the Indian market.

2026 Tata Punch Facelift Teased Again – Turbo Engine & New Features Confirmed

GaadiWaadi -

2026-Tata-Punch-Facelift-Teased.jpg

2026 Tata Punch will go on sale on January 13 in India with a comprehensive makeover inside and out

Tata Motors is looking to significantly raise the bar in the micro SUV space with the upcoming Punch facelift – officially scheduled to launch on January 13, 2026. Recent teaser drops confirm that this update goes far beyond surface level styling changes. The most transformative change lies under the bonnet. For the first time since its launch in late 2021, the Punch will be offered with a turbocharged petrol engine in its new avatar.

The brand has confirmed the addition of its iTurbo powertrain moving the Punch into a more performance-oriented territory. Expected to be the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol unit used in the Altroz Racer to be featured. It should generate outputs close to 120 PS and 170 Nm, hooked with a six-speed manual transmission.

Teaser images reveal a reprofiled driver’s seat with enhanced under-thigh support, a feature borrowed from the bigger Sierra. The updated Punch will feature a fully digital instrument display, 65W fast charging support, touch-operated controls for key functions and an automatic climate control function. Additionally, the inclusion of Hill Descent Control should install confidence in drivers while driving up the mountains.

On the design front, the Punch facelift adopts a more assertive visual finish while retaining its upright proportions as the influences from Tata’s larger SUVs are evident. The front end receives a complete overhaul with a new bumper design, pronounced black cladding and contrasting silver accents. The lighting setup is also new featuring vertically stacked LED headlamps.

Unlike the electric Punch, the ICE version skips the continuous light bar in favour of a blacked-out centre element flanked by slim LED Daytime Running Lights. The facelifted Punch is expected to offer a 360-degree camera system hinted at by a visible front camera and revised ORVM housings. The rear sees the introduction of connected LED tail lamps while new alloy wheel designs, updated branding and new paint options complete the exterior updates.

India’s Car Industry Eyes High Q4 Sales To Achieve 8% Growth In FY2026

GaadiWaadi -

New-2025-Maruti-Suzuki-Dzire-3.jpg

To close FY26 with eight per cent growth and record sales of around 4.73 million units, the sector will need a particularly strong January–March 2026 performance

The passenger vehicle industry is staring at a decisive final quarter as automobile manufacturers endeavour to meet an ambitious full-year target. To close FY26 with around eight per cent growth and record sales of roughly 4.73 million units, the sector will need a particularly strong January–March 2026 performance – a period that historically contributes a large share of annual volumes.

The urgency is driven by recent signs of demand moderation. After buoyant festive season momentum, retail sales growth eased noticeably in December expanding by only about three per cent. The slowdown stands in contrast to the double-digit growth recorded in October and November period. Financial conditions are also influencing buying behaviour.

Household net financial savings have declined to approximately five per cent of GDP raising concerns over consumers’ ability to fund discretionary purchases such as passenger vehicles. While policy rate cuts have provided some relief, banks remain selective with auto loans, prompting carmakers to move with finance schemes, subvention offers and non-bank credit channels.

Mahindra XEV 9S 3

The industry had earlier received a temporary boost following the introduction of GST 2.0 in September 2025 which improved affordability and triggered new purchases across multiple segments. However, the spike is now showing signs of tapering. As a result, the new quarter will determine whether GST-derived gains translate into sustained demand or merely represent a short term pull of sales.

Manufacturers and dealers are responding with calibrated pricing and inventory strategies. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have already announced price hikes effective January ranging between 0.6 per cent and 2 per cent. At the retail level, inventory levels are being consciously maintained at around 30 to 35 days with dealers preparing for a faster clearance cycle in Q4.

New Hyundai Venue (18)

Maruti Suzuki continues to hold a commanding lead in the passenger vehicle segment. Hyundai remains the second largest PV maker by dispatches in the first half of FY26 shipping over 373,000 units. However, in the domestic market during calendar year 2025, both Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have outperformed Hyundai due to having strong SUV portfolios and increasing electric vehicle penetration.

Urban markets are showing signs of saturation and aspiration fatigue particularly in higher priced categories. In contrast, rural and semi-urban regions are emerging as key growth drivers aided by a stable monsoon, healthy crop output and rising replacement demand for compact cars and entry-level SUVs.

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Sierra EV is one of the three new EV launches confirmed by the brand in 2026 alongside the new Punch EV and Avinya

Tata Motors has been rigorously testing the upcoming Sierra EV on Indian roads. Camouflaged prototypes have been spotted multiple times, confirming that validation is underway ahead of its early 2026 launch. The electric Sierra will play a crucial role in Tata’s next phase of EV expansion – sitting alongside upcoming launches such as the facelifted Punch EV and the brand’s first Avinya-based model in 2026.

While the overall silhouette will remain familiar, the Sierra EV will receive a range of electric-specific exterior updates. At the front, the SUV is expected to feature a closed-off grille flanked by a full-width LED daytime running light bar. Split headlamp units, a revised bumper design with darker inserts and a skid plate will add to its overall appearance.

Viewed from the side, the Sierra EV will continue to showcase its boxy proportions, pronounced shoulder lines and squared wheel arches. Key highlights are expected to include flush door handles, newly designed alloy wheels and the iconic Sierra window treatment. At the rear, Tata will offer a connected LED light strip, a clean tailgate layout and subtle EV badging to distinguish it from the ICE model.

Step inside and the Sierra EV is expected to push Tata’s in-car technology further. The cabin layout will closely mirror the combustion-powered Sierra but with a stronger emphasis on digital interfaces. A triple-screen dashboard setup will take centre stage, comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a dedicated display for the front passenger.

Premium upholstery, layered dashboard textures, ambient lighting and a panoramic glass roof will be other additions. In terms of features, the Sierra EV is tipped to be one of Tata’s most technologically advanced SUVs to date. Level 2 ADAS, connected car tech, a premium sound system, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control and a comprehensive safety suite are expected on higher trims.

The electric Sierra will share its battery packs with the Harrier EV. The larger battery is expected to deliver a real-world range of over 500 km while support for DC fast charging and bi-directional charging is also anticipated. The new ICE Sierra has already generated massive momentum even before the EV’s official unveiling.

Maruti Suzuki Sets New Production Record With 22.55 Lakh+ Vehicles Built In CY 2025

GaadiWaadi -

2024-Maruti-Suzuki-Swift-Red-1.jpg

Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest-ever annual production of over 22.55 lakh units in CY 2025 while the yearly exports also reached an all-time high

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has set a new benchmark in domestic automobile manufacturing by producing over 22.55 lakh vehicles in calendar year 2025. The numbers resulted in the brand posting its highest-ever annual output. The new achievement also makes 2025 the second consecutive year in which the company has crossed the production milestone of 20 lakh units.

The volumes reaffirm the sustained scale-up of India’s largest carmaker and the growing strength of the country’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem. A look at Maruti Suzuki’s production trajectory over the past five years indicates this consistent ramp-up. Output stood at 16.29 lakh units in CY 2021 – increasing in a encouraging manner to 19.16 lakh units in 2022.

The upward momentum continued in CY 2023 with 19.34 lakh units – followed by 20.63 lakh units in CY 2024. The jump to around 22.55 lakh units in CY 2025 shows the strongest year-on-year expansion in this period emphasising improved capacity utilisation and demand and a wider product portfolio especially in the SUV space.

Maruti-Suzuki-Export-Milestone-2.jpg

The 2025 production figures include vehicles manufactured for domestic sales, exports and OEM supplies. Models such as the Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire and Ertiga emerged as the top five contributors by volume – mirroring strong customer demand in both India and overseas markets. More notably, the exports also reached an all-time yearly high for the auto major.

Compact cars and utility vehicles together continued to form the backbone of the company’s production portfolio. Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing journey began in 1983 with its first plant in Gurugram, Haryana. Over the decades, the company has expanded its footprint with facilities in Manesar and Kharkhoda in Haryana and the integration of its Gujarat plant – creating a geographically diversified and highly scalable production network.

New-2025-Maruti-Suzuki-Dzire-4.jpg

These plants collectively manufacture 17 models and over 650 variants supported by a deep and multi-tier supplier ecosystem now. Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki has outlined plans to further strengthen its manufacturing base by scaling total annual capacity to 4 million units. Commenting on this remarkable feat, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said,

“This record production is a result of the dedication of our employees and the strong synergy that we share with our supplier partners. A high degree of localization has enabled us to achieve such scale while maintaining world-class quality, highlighting the strength and global competitiveness of India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem. We remain committed to expanding our manufacturing footprint and strengthening India’s automobile manufacturing capabilities in line with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.”
