Triumph Tracker 400 uses a revised TR-series 350 cc engine that produces 40 PS at 8,750 rpm in a similar fashion to the Thruxton 400

Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its modern-classic portfolio with the introduction of the all-new Tracker 400 which is priced at Rs. 2,46,225 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Drawing heavy inspiration from flat-track racing, the motorcycle combines retro design elements with a street-based attire giving the motorcycle a minimalistic look.

Powering the new offering is a revised TR-series 350 cc engine that produces 40 PS at 8,750 rpm in a similar fashion to the Thruxton 400. The motor is said to be tuned to deliver responsive performance while maintaining everyday rideability with engaging character. As for the styling, the Tracker 400 gets race-inspired design elements.

It features a sculpted fuel tank with knee recesses, a compact flyscreen, a colour-matched seat cowl and a distinctive number board displaying “400”. The styling is further enhanced by aggressive graphics, racing stripes and mud-splatter detailing that extend across the bodywork. The rider’s triangle has been adjusted to suit its character.

Wide and flat handlebars combined with repositioned footpegs create a more commanding stance according to the brand. It is supported by a dedicated chassis setup which is said to focus on sharper handling and a more connected riding feel especially in city conditions. On the hardware front, the Tracker 400 is equipped with 43 mm upside-down big piston forks at the front offering 140 mm of travel.

The rear gets a gas-charged monoshock with preload adjustability and the same travel. The setup is paired with dual-purpose tyres featuring a block-pattern tread. The motorcycle also boasts a torque-assist clutch, switchable traction control and dual-channel ABS system. Instrumentation is handled by a single-pod analogue speedometer which is supported by a digital tachometer.

Braking duties are managed by a four-piston radial calliper setup and details like neatly concealed wiring, precision-machined engine fins and high-quality paintwork are some of the other highlights. The Tracker 400 is offered in three colour options namely Racing Yellow, Phantom Black and Aluminium Silver Gloss, and each carrying sporty branding and race-inspired styling cues.

Commenting on the new launch, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto, said: “The Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, and the Thruxton have seen strong acceptance, expanding Triumph’s appeal to younger riders. Building on this momentum, the Tracker 400 introduces greater choice. With its stripped-back flat track attitude, it delivers more fun, more style, and a distinctly sportier ride.”

Tata Safari EV To Be Launched In Late 2026 – 500 Km Range & AWD

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Safari EV Rendering

Tata Motors may offer the Safari EV in a standard seven-seat version and a more comfort-focused six-seat version

Following the launch of the Sierra EV this summer, the Safari will remain the only SUV in the Tata Motors line-up to not be available in an electric variant. The company is working on a Safari EV as well, though, with plans to launch it in the fourth quarter of the year.

Set to compete with the Mahindra XEV 9S, which went on sale in January, the Tata Safari EV will be the second EV adapted from a JLR D8 platform-based model. Codenamed ‘Tata Tayrona,’ the three-row electric SUV will feature Tata Motors’ second-generation EV architecture, dubbed ‘acti.ev+’.

Tata Motors will likely offer the Safari EV in a single-motor RWD variant and a dual-motor AWD variant. The company should use a Schaeffler-made permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 175 kW (235 hp) and 304 Nm of torque on the rear axle in both variants.

In the dual-motor AWD variant, Tata Motors should add a Tata AutoComp-sourced motor that develops 116 kW (156 hp) and 164 Nm of torque. The rear motor will likely gain a boost function that can temporarily increase the torque to 340 Nm. With 291 kW (390 hp) of total power and up to 504 Nm (468 Nm as standard), a 0-100 km/h sprint may take less than 7 seconds.

In addition to the change in the drivetrain layout from FWD to a rear-biased one, another major upgrade should be with the suspension. Tata Motors may use a multi-link rear suspension with Frequency Dependent Dampers (FDD) instead of the regular Safari’s torsion beam for improved ride quality.

Tata Safari Petrol (2)

Customers may get a choice of 65 kWh and 75 kWh LFP battery packs in the Safari EV, although the former is highly unlikely to be offered in the dual-motor AWD variant. The 65 kWh LFP battery pack may deliver a range of around 500 kilometres in the single-motor RWD variant, while the 75 kWh LFP battery pack may allow travelling distances of around 600 kilometres in both single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD variants. We expect the former to be chargeable at up to around 100 kW and the latter at up to around 120 kW.

Vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) bi-directional charging capabilities will likely be standard. Other additional features in the Safari EV may include a transparent chassis view function, Auto Park Assist (APA), UPI-based ‘DrivePay’ charging and FasTag payments, and Summon Mode.

5 Upcoming Tata Car Launches In 2026-27 In India

GaadiWaadi -

Tata-Avinya-X.jpg

5 new Tata models set to arrive in showrooms in 2026-27, including the first car from the new Avinya brand

Having built a diverse range of value-priced ICE and electric cars over the last decade and rolled out timely updates, Tata Motors has risen to become India’s second-largest carmaker. The company will continue being offensive on the product front this year to sustain the momentum. It started sales of the all-new Sierra, the new Punch, and the new Punch.ev in the first quarter, and it has 5 more vehicles in the pipeline for 2026-27.

Later this month, Tata Motors will likely unveil the pure electric variant of the all-new Sierra – the Sierra.ev. The company partially revealed the Sierra.ev’s exterior design in a promotional video of the all-new Sierra last year, showing a cleaner exterior that more strongly conveys the presence of an electric powertrain. The interior is expected to look nearly identical to the ICE donor.

Tata Motors will likely launch the Sierra.ev in RWD and AWD variants and give a choice of two battery packs, although it may offer only the latter with the larger unit. The extended-range RWD variant should be able to cover a distance of around 600 kilometres on a single charge. Vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) bi-directional charging functions will likely be standard.

Tata Sierra EV

Sometime in the middle of the year, Tata Motors may roll out a facelift for the Tiago and Tiago.ev. The company recently started testing an updated version of these cars and is expected to introduce changes such as a new radiator grille, restyled bumpers, redesigned headlamps and tail lamps, and new 15-inch alloy wheels. No major interior or mechanical changes are expected with this update.

Around October, Tata Motors will likely launch the pure electric variant of the Safari, presumably called Safari.ev. The Mahindra XEV 9S rival should be offered in six- and seven-seat variants with the same powertrains and battery packs and with mostly the same features as the Harrier.ev. However, the three-row model may travel only up to around 500 kilometres with the 65 kWh LFP battery pack and up to around 600 kilometres with the 75 kWh LFP battery pack.

Tata Motors likely to debut first Avinya EV in December or early next year. It is worth noting that Avinya will be a new brand, not a sub-brand under the Tata Motors line-up. The first model of the new brand will likely be the production version of the first concept showcased in 2022. Designed from the ground up, the low-slung EV will be based on a skateboard platform. It should have extremely short overhangs, a long wheelbase, and a truly spacious interior.

Tata Motors was initially planning a low-cost version of JLR’s EMA platform and an operating voltage of somewhere in the 300-400-volt range for the electrical architecture. Plans have since changed, though, and it’s unclear what the final specifications will be. That said, we expect the company to provide a high charging capacity of somewhere in the 175-200 kW range and a range exceeding 700 kilometres in the top configuration.

Mahindra To Launch Multiple New ICE & Electric SUVs Soon In India

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra Vision S

Four new SUVs with a starting price of around Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom) likely to arrive in Mahindra showrooms by next year

Mahindra has been on a new product offensive since last year, having introduced multiple new premium SUVs. The company will continue to flood the market with new products by next year, covering both ICE and electric segments.

The next major launch from Mahindra will be a facelifted version of the Scorpio-N, the second generation of the company’s most coveted body-on-frame SUV. Originally introduced in June 2022, the Scorpio-N is likely to undergo a minor redesign later this summer to remain fresh on the market.

Spy shots suggest that the facelifted Scorpio-N will feature tweaked headlamp and tail lamp graphics, restyled bumpers, a new radiator grille, and newly designed 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels. Substantial revisions are expected on the inside, including a redesigned dashboard, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and new, horizontal centre AC vents.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift (1)

The second-gen Mahindra Thar, launched in October 2020, will also get a comprehensive facelift likely in the third quarter of this year. The biggest change with this update will be a new front fascia that looks similar to the newer Thar Roxx. This means the new Thar will feature LED headlights with a C-shaped LED daytime running light and a six-double-slot grille. Mahindra may also introduce a 19-inch wheel option on the Thar with the upcoming refresh.

The new Mahindra Thar will have some interior changes as well. We expect new features such as smart entry, push-button start/stop, a wireless smartphone charger, ventilated front seats, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

Sometime early next year, Mahindra will likely launch the production version of the Vision.S, which will be a compact SUV based on the company’s new NU_IQ platform. This model will fill the whitespace between the XUV 3XO and Thar, blending the comfort and refinement of a monocoque SUV with the ruggedness and strong road presence of a body-on-frame SUV model. It could be offered in petrol, diesel, and petrol-electric hybrid variants,

In the second quarter of next year, Mahindra may launch its fifth Born Electric series EV, which could be called BE 7 or BE.07. This model should measure around 4.6 metres in length, 1.9 metres in width, and 1.7 metres in height and have a wheelbase of around 2.8 metres. It will challenge the Tata Harrier.ev and VinFast VF 7.

Mahindra BE07 (1)

Mahindra may launch it in 228 hp/380 Nm and 282 hp/380 Nm single-motor RWD variants, powered by 59 kWh and 79 kWh LFP battery packs, respectively. The former may have a range of approximately 530 kilometres and the latter of approximately 650 kilometres.
