Brands like Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata and VinFast are planning to launch new electric cars soon in India and here we have explained them
Plenty of automakers are preparing for a surge in new vehicle launches as the festival season arrives. Manufacturers from various categories aim to attract buyers seized by festive excitement particularly in the e-mobility space. Here you will find a rundown of what is expected to land in the EV arena over the next 6-9 months:
1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:

Production of the e Vitara will take place at Suzuki’s Gujarat site to serve customers in India and abroad. Buyers can select between two battery options: a 61.1 kWh pack estimated to cross 500 km per charge and a smaller 48.8 kWh unit. Fast charging can recharge the battery from zero to eighty per cent in approximately fifty minutes.
2&3. Mahindra XEV 7e & XUV 3XO EV:
Mahindra plans to introduce the XEV 7e as its first electric SUV with three rows of seats. It builds on the foundation set by the XUV.e8 concept and closely mirrors many aspects of the internal combustion XUV700 in both design and features. Production and official launch are expected early next year. Separately, the XUV 3XO EV has been spotted on regular roads during testing on multiple occasions. Upon arrival, it will sit below the XUV400.
4. Tata Punch EV Facelift:

Tata is expected to be preparing to debut an updated version of the Punch EV next year. Visible changes to both the exterior and the cabin are possible. At the moment, it is unclear whether any adjustments will be made to improve driving range. If Tata decides to introduce powertrain upgrades, the move could win over more buyers seeking an affordable EV with good range capabilities.
5&6. VinFast VF 6 & VF 7:

VinFast has commenced pre-bookings for the VF 6 and VF 7 in India ahead of their market launch this festive season. The company will produce both models right from the word go and they could be priced competitively. The VF 6 can deliver up to 480 km on a single charge in the WLTP cycle.
7&8. MG M9 & Cyberster:

MG will exclusively distribute the new Cyberster convertible and M9 luxury MPV through its MG Select dealerships across India. Bookings have already opened for both models. First revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the M9 is scheduled to enter the market in the coming days while the Cyberster is not far away either.
