Total volume sales of Kia for 2025 stood at 2,80,286 units with a healthy 15 per cent rise on a YoY basis

Kia India wrapped up CY2025 on a high by posting its strongest annual performance since entering the domestic market. Its total wholesale volumes for the year stood at 2,80,286 units with a healthy 15 per cent rise over the 2.45 lakh units recorded in CY2024. The sustained growth indicates the brand’s acceptance among Indian buyers – supported by a product lineup that addresses customers across multiple segments.

The closing month of the calendar year proved to be particularly significant for the company. December 2025 turned out to be Kia India’s best-ever December with wholesales touching 18,659 units. It represented a sharp 105 per cent year-on-year jump when compared to the 8,957 units dispatched during the same period the previous year.

A major contributor to this performance was the Kia Sonet which once again crossed the one lakh unit sales milestone during the year. Achieving this feat for the second consecutive year, the compact SUV continued to anchor Kia’s volumes in one of India’s most competitive segments. The Sonet’s consistent demand was complemented by contributions from the Seltos.

The South Korean brand’s wider portfolio also witnessed good reception. Models such as the Carens, Carens Clavis and the Carens Clavis EV received a positive response from customers according to the brand. At the premium end, the fourth-gen Carnival Limousine and the EV6 helped draw interest from buyers. Looking ahead, Kia is optimistic about sustaining this momentum into 2026.

The recently debuted second generation Seltos is expected to play a central role in driving future volumes backed by the continued strength of established nameplates like the Sonet and Carens range. The official price list of the new Seltos will be revealed tomorrow in India and it gets a host of revisions inside and out, and is based on the global K3 architecture.

In addition to its product push, Kia India also focused heavily on expanding its retail and service reach. During CY2025, the company extended its nationwide footprint to 369 cities, operating through a total of 821 touchpoints. Speaking about the performance and outlook, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing said,

2025 was a year of consistent and sustainable growth for Kia India, driven by strategic product introductions like the Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV, trim optimization across key mass-selling models including the Seltos, Carens and Sonet; operational efficiencies, and continuous improvements across sales, service, and customer engagement.

New Gen Renault Duster Spied With More Detailed Design Changes

GaadiWaadi -

New Gen Duster

India-spec next-gen Renault Duster to carry several revisions with respect to design, safety, and other aspects for a more competitive positioning against rivals

Renault has begun dropping hints about the India-spec next-gen Duster. The company clearly revealed it has tweaked the exterior design with a teaser earlier this week, and now it has begun shedding camouflage on test mules to indirectly reveal more details and generate buzz ahead of the debut next month.

At the front, the India-spec Renault Duster does away with the Y-shaped daytime running lights of the global model and adopts a new look where the DRLs taper inwards. While the front fog lamps are part of the lower grille surround on the global model, on the India-spec model, they have been pushed out to the corners of the bumper.

The lower grille inserts are also unique to the India-spec Renault Duster, featuring fewer but wider inserts. The visible changes mean the front bumper will obviously be different, and it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect a unique look for the upper grille as well. Along the sides, the India-spec Duster appears to feature the 18-inch diamond-cut ‘exploration’ alloy wheels from the global model.

New Gen Duster (1)

At the rear, although not visible in the latest spy shots, the teaser earlier this week confirmed the use of light strips connecting the tail lights to the Diamond logo on the tailgate. Renault will use a low-cost conventional rear wiper, not a more discreet wiper hidden under the rear spoiler like on the Tata Sierra.

The interior of the India-spec Renault Duster should closely resemble the global model, but we expect the materials, colour schemes, and decor elements to be different. Renault does not offer any kind of sunroof on the Duster globally, and we’d be surprised to see it add one for India, as that could require significant re-engineering and entail high costs. We do expect it to swap the global model’s heated seats with ventilated ones, though.

New Gen Duster (2)

Renault will likely offer the all-new Duster in India with features like a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless smartphone charger, four USB Type-C ports, and an electronic parking brake. On the safety front, the test mule does appear to have a provision for a 360º camera, a feature not available globally. We expect a raft of Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems and six airbags to be available as well.

5+ Upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes In 2026 – 350 cc To 750 cc, EVs

GaadiWaadi -

Royal-Enfield-Himalayan-750-Himalayan-EV-2.jpg

Here we have listed the upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes in 2026 across different segments including the entry into the 750 cc space

Royal Enfield is lining up one of its busiest product cycles yet with multiple new motorcycles spanning internal combustion and electric powertrains scheduled to arrive over the next 12 months. Among the confirmed launches are two new 650 cc models and a pair of electric bikes under the Flying Flea sub-brand.

At the forefront of the electric charge is the Flying Flea range which is set to become Royal Enfield’s first production EV. Inspired by the brand’s historic military motorcycle, the C6 adopts a stripped-back neo-retro design highlighted by minimalist body panels, a girder-style front suspension and an ultra-lightweight aluminium-intensive structure. It prioritises agility and simplicity and is expected to enter series production in late 2026.

Taking a different approach, the Flying Flea S6 builds on the same electric architecture. Featuring scrambler-like proportions, increased suspension travel and dual-purpose wheels, the S6 carries slightly tougher visual bits and a reinforced chassis. Royal Enfield has confirmed that this model will go on sale before the end of 2026 sharing battery components with the C6.

On the internal combustion front, the Bullet 650 will become one of the most awaited launches from the brand. Recently unveiled, it retains the Bullet’s classic styling elements but introduces the familiar 648 cc parallel-twin engine producing around 47 bhp and over 52 Nm of torque. Power is sent through a six-speed gearbox paired with a slip-and-assist clutch.

Staying true to its heritage, the Bullet 650 features a round headlamp, metal-heavy construction, pinstriped fuel tank and an upright riding posture. While the chassis has been strengthened to handle the twin-cylinder motor, Royal Enfield has ensured the motorcycle preserves its old-school character. Positioned below the Classic 650 Twin, it is expected to be priced around Rs. 3.65 lakh (ex-showroom) when it goes on sale soon.

Royal Enfield also celebrated its125th anniversary with the reveal of a limited-run Classic 650 Anniversary Edition at EICMA 2025. Finished in an exclusive “Hypershift” paint scheme that shifts between red and gold, the motorcycle features extensive blacked-out components including the exhaust, engine cases and wire-spoke wheels.

While mechanically identical to the standard Classic 650, it is also expected to be launched in the coming weeks. In addition to the confirmed models, Royal Enfield’s roadmap may also include a production-ready Himalayan 750 later this year along with new 450 cc and 650 cc derivatives and special editions in the 350 cc lineup.

New Renault Duster & Nissan Tekton Spotted Testing Together In India

2026 Renault Duster & Nissan Tekton Spotted

New gen Renault Duster & Nissan Tekton spotted testing together ahead of launch

The third generation Renault Duster and its Nissan counterpart, the Nissan Tekton, have been spotted testing together on Indian roads ahead of their respective launches. The two compact SUVs were seen undergoing road tests alongside the Hyundai Creta, offering a clear size and positioning reference.

Renault has confirmed that the new generation Duster will make its India debut on 26 January, while the Nissan Tekton is expected to follow in the second quarter of calendar year 2026. Both SUVs are part of the Renault–Nissan alliance strategy and will share platforms and powertrains while maintaining distinct brand identities.

Design similarities and differences

Built on the CMF-B platform, the new Duster and Tekton share a similar overall shape. The test vehicles reveal comparable proportions, including the beltline, window layout, roofline, roof-mounted spoiler and ground clearance. Elements such as the raked windshield and exhaust placement also appear identical.

That said, each model will feature unique exterior styling once the camouflage is removed. The upcoming Duster is expected to showcase Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps and tail lamps, while the Tekton will adopt Nissan’s signature C-shaped lighting design. Differences will also extend to the grille design and front and rear bumpers.

From the side, both SUVs are likely to get different alloy wheel designs and distinct door cladding, though shared elements such as pronounced wheel arches, dual-tone ORVMs with integrated indicators and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles will remain common. Brand-specific colour options are also expected.

Cabin layout and features

Inside, the new Duster and Tekton are expected to offer a largely shared feature set with a focus on modern technology and everyday usability. Both SUVs are likely to benefit from improved sound insulation, a spacious cabin layout and ample storage solutions.

Expected features include automatic climate control with dual-zone functionality, wireless phone charging, keyless entry, electric parking brake, premium upholstery and a higher-end audio system. Test mules spotted earlier suggest that India-specific features such as a triple-screen dashboard layout and a powered tailgate could also make it to production models.

Safety and technology

Safety will be a key focus, with both SUVs expected to offer six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start and hill descent assist, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Higher variants could additionally get a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system and ADAS Level 2 features.

Engine options

Both SUVs will share the same powertrain lineup. The initial offering is expected to be a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine, with strong hybrid and CNG options planned for a later phase. An all-wheel-drive option is also reported to be under consideration. More official details will be revealed during the Duster’s India debut later this month.

Hyundai Creta Clocks Highest Ever Yearly Sales Of 2 Lakh+ Units In 2025

GaadiWaadi -

Hyundai Creta (1)

Hyundai Creta has been the unassailable leader in the midsize SUV segment for over a decade in India

The Hyundai Creta has hit a landmark moment in India – clocking its best-ever calendar year performance with 2 lakh units sold in a single year. The numbers associate to 550 Cretas finding new homes every single day in the domestic market showing just how deeply entrenched the SUV is in the country’s buying psyche. Even after ten years on sale and relentless competition, the Creta continues to dictate terms in the midsize SUV space.

What makes this achievement more telling is the environment it has come in. The midsize SUV segment is now crowded with newer and feature-packed rivals yet the Creta has managed not just to hold ground but extend its lead at the top. With a segment share of over 34 per cent, it comfortably leaves the rest of the field in its wake.

The year also indicates a decade since the Creta first went on sale in India – a journey during which the nameplate has grown consistently. Between 2016 and 2025, the brand has recorded a compound annual growth rate of more than 9 per cent – an uncommon feat in a segment known for rapid changes in buyer expectations.

Hyundai creta King Edition1

Since its debut, the Creta has finished as the highest-selling midsize SUV in every completed year – making it less of a product success and more of a category-defining phenomenon. A major reason behind this sustained appeal is the sheer breadth of choice the Creta offers. Buyers can pick from multiple powertrains and gearboxes including a 1.5-litre MPi petrol, 1.5-litre CRDi diesel and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol mill.

It is coupled with manual, automatic, IVT or DCT options depending on the variant. Earlier this year, the Creta’s range saw further expansion with the inclusion of the electric variant. Commenting on its successful reign this calendar year and beyond, Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO designate, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said,

Mahindra Outsells Tata & Hyundai To Finish 2nd, Maruti Tops Car Sales In 2025

GaadiWaadi -

Updated Mahindra Thar

Vahan data from January to November 2025 shows Maruti Suzuki finishing ahead of Mahindra, Tata and Hyundai in car sales charts in India

Mahindra & Mahindra’s climb to the second position in passenger vehicle market in 2025 has been led by its traditional SUVs. Vahan data from January to November 2025 shows how the brand’s popular nameplates continued to dominate its volumes. Leading the way was the Scorpio range which remains Mahindra’s single biggest contributor.

With 1.61 lakh units registered in the first eleven months of the year, the Scorpio range alone accounts for well over a quarter of Mahindra’s total PV volumes. Not far behind is the Thar which has cemented its position as a lifestyle icon in the domestic market. With 1.07 lakh units sold during the same period, the Thar continues to punch well above its niche positioning.

The Mahindra Bolero also delivered impressive numbers. At 93,436 units, it remains a backbone model for Mahindra – particularly in semi-urban and rural parts of the country. The XUV 3XO clocked 90,608 units proving that Mahindra’s renewed focus on the sub-four-metre segment is paying off. Similarly, the XUV700, once a runaway hit, contributed 80,251 units.

Tata Harrier EV6

Electric vehicles are still a relatively small but growing part of Mahindra’s portfolio. The combined tally of BE 6 and XEV 9e stands at 38,841 units while the XUV 400 added 2,764 units. At the bottom of the chart sat the Marazzo with just 328 units. Overall, Mahindra recorded total registrations of 5,74,657 units between January and November 2025 locally.

Based on Vahan registration figures till December 25, Mahindra emerged as the second largest passenger vehicle manufacturer in India and represented the first occasion where Mahindra closed a calendar year ahead of both Hyundai and Tata Motors. Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate the market – retaining the top spot with total registrations of around 17.50 lakh units.

The total sales indicated a significant improvement over the 4.90 lakh units registered in CY2024 translating into a year-on-year growth of around 18 per cent for the period. Meanwhile, the fight for the remaining podium positions had been extremely tight. Tata Motors is expected to finish third overall in CY2025 with registrations estimated at around 5.52 lakh units placing it marginally ahead of Hyundai with 5.50 lakh units.
