Updated Bajaj Pulsar NS125 Spotted At Dealership Ahead Of Launch

New full-colour TFT console, revised switchgear and black-red graphics are part of the 2026 Bajaj Pulsar NS125 updates

The updated Bajaj Pulsar NS125 appears to have started reaching dealerships ahead of its formal launch as multiple changes planned have been revealed online courtesy of an Instagram page. The new full-colour TFT instrument console stands out immediately and the dealership bike also gets revised switchgear and a new black and red graphics finish. The current Rs. 99,622 (ex-showroom Delhi) figure meant that we can expect a minor hike in the upcoming model.

The new TFT brings a much more modern cockpit to the NS125. It shows a large central speed readout, colour tachometer across the upper section, gear position indicator and multiple information fields. A dedicated mode button is now visible on the left hand switchgear along with revised controls that operate the new display. The E20 marking on the fuel tank cap can also be seen in the images.

Bajaj has kept the same NS125 bodywork around the new equipment intact. The motorcycle retains its existing headlamp assembly, muscular fuel tank, tank extensions, side panels, split-style seat profile and underbelly exhaust layout. The spotted example gets fresh red graphics across the tank shrouds, lower body panels and tail section with red-and-white NS125 lettering on the side panel.

The mechanical bits are expected to stay unchanged. The current NS125 uses a 124.45 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-valve engine that develops 12 PS at 8,000 rpm and 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine works with a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also boasts a 12-litre fuel tank, 805 mm seat height, 179 mm ground clearance and 144 kg kerb weight.

The chassis setup also carries over in the motorcycle spotted at a dealership. The NS125 gets a 31 mm telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear along with alloy wheels and a front disc brake. The existing range offers CBS and single-channel ABS configurations and Bajaj could retain the same braking choices with the updated version.

The current NS125 is available in LED BT and LED BT ABS versions, and Bluetooth connectivity already features in the range. Bajaj sells Fiery Orange, Burnt Red, Beach Blue and Pewter Grey shades and we expect new colours to be sold as well.

The NS125 will be one of the motorcycles to join Bajaj’s latest update cycle. The company introduced the new Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 in August with a 5-inch TFT, updated mechanicals, monoshock rear suspension, Crawl Tech and Google Maps navigation. The NS200 and N250 have also been spied with new TFT displays and the NS200 also appeared with WP Apex USD forks. The NS400Z TFT is also set to arrive soon.

10 New Cars Set To Launch In October 2026 In India – SUVs, EVs & Sedans

Luxury flagships, electric newcomers and updated mass-market models will crowd India’s festive season launch calendar in October 2026

The month of October 2026 will bring a packed sequence of new car activity in the domestic market. Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Volvo have firm dates for launches while Skoda, Renault, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai and VinFast have products lined up around the festive period as well and thus, the month will see plenty of action. Here are the confirmed and speculated arrivals:

1. Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Facelift – October 5

The facelifted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will arrive on October 5 with a larger illuminated grille, redesigned headlamps and star shaped DRLs. The cabin gets a 12.3-inch instrument screen, 14.4-inch central display and 12.3-inch passenger screen amongst a host of new additions. Overseas, the S 580 uses a 4.0-litre V8 rated at 537 hp and 750 Nm and it could be offered locally.

2. Volvo EX90 – October 12

Volvo will launch the EX90 as its flagship three-row electric SUV in India. The Ultra trim comes with a 106 kWh battery, dual electric motor AWD system and performance figures of 456 hp and 670 Nm with a claimed range of up to 625 km. A 14.5-inch touchscreen, 9-inch driver display, Bowers & Wilkins audio system and an extensive ADAS package feature on the equipment list.

3. Volvo ES90 – October 12

The ES90 will join the EX90 on the same date and will help Volvo consolidate its portfolio in the luxury sedan space in India. Global specifications include 92 kWh and 106 kWh battery options, and output extends from 333 hp to 680 hp based on version. The 800V electrical system supports up to 350 kW DC charging and the longest range derivative claims up to 696 km on the WLTP cycle.

4. New-Generation Audi Q3 – October 16

Audi will launch the third generation Q3 after starting local assembly recently in India. The new SUV gets a redesigned exterior and cabin, and measures 40 mm longer than its predecessor. The India-spec variants are expected to get a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine rated at around 204 hp and 320 Nm, linked to a 7-speed DCT and a Quattro AWD system.

5. Renault Duster Hybrid

All set to launch on October 17, the new-gen Renault Duster’s range will see the inclusion of an 1.8-litre hybridized petrol engine with two electric motors to make a combined 160 hp and 172 Nm of torque. Supported by a 1.4 kWh battery pack and an eight-speed multi-mode automatic transmission, the system is designed to handle up to 80 per cent city driving on EV-only mode.

6. Honda Elevate Facelift

Honda will update the Elevate with exterior revisions, new alloy wheels and cabin changes and is expected to launch next month as well. Reports point to additions such as ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine should stay at around 119 hp and 145 Nm with six-speed manual and CVT gearbox choices.

7. Hyundai Bayon

Hyundai will reveal the new Bayon globally on October 12 in its European specification but the company has not announced its launch date yet. However, its local bookings have already opened at Rs. 11,000 confirming its arrival in the coming weeks. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine rated at around 115 hp and 144 Nm with manual and IVT gearbox options.

8. Toyota Glanza Facelift

Toyota will give the Glanza a styling and equipment update most likely in October considering that its sibling Maruti Suzuki Baleno has already gained a facelift. The hatchback should retain its close mechanical link with the Baleno. The familiar 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 82.93 hp and 112.4 Nm and comes with 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox options while a CNG/AMT combo is also a possibility.

9. VinFast VF3

VinFast already has plans to add the VF3 to its Indian EV portfolio and it could happen this month. The small two-door electric SUV has a tall stance and compact footprint which could help rival Tata Tiago, Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV.

10. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift

Volkswagen will update the Virtus with exterior revisions, cabin trim changes and additional equipment. The 1.0-litre TSI is likely to gain an 8-speed automatic and the 1.5-litre TSI should retain the 7-speed DSG as the upcoming Slavia. Reports also point to a 360-degree camera and revised infotainment software.

Bajaj’s Next Big Bike Is An Adventure Motorcycle: What We Know So Far

Bajaj is preparing its first proper adventure bike, with a 250 cc engine, dual-sport hardware and a possible late-2026 debut

Bajaj Auto is getting ready to enter a motorcycle segment it has never properly contested before. The company’s new adventure motorcycle has been spotted testing several times in India and is now expected to make its debut towards the end of 2026 or early 2027. Recent reports suggest the bike could be positioned as an affordable dual-sport machine, putting it directly in the path of motorcycles such as the Hero Xpulse 210.

The biggest talking point is the engine. Multiple reports point towards a 249 cc air or oil-cooled single-cylinder motor, likely related to the engine used in the Pulsar N250. The Pulsar N250 currently develops 24.2 bhp and 21.5 Nm, although Bajaj is expected to retune the motor for the adventure bike, with stronger low- and mid-range performance being more important than outright top-end power.

The test bikes seen so far have a distinctly different appearance from Bajaj’s existing motorcycles. There is a tall front end, slim bodywork, beak-style front mudguard, upright handlebar and long single-piece seat. The exhaust is also mounted high, while spoke wheels and dual-purpose tyres add to the adventure-bike theme.

The motorcycle is expected to use a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination. Suspension duties are likely to be handled by telescopic forks at the front and a linkage-type monoshock at the rear. These details suggest Bajaj is aiming for a bike that can handle broken roads and light trails rather than simply being a road-going motorcycle with adventure styling.

Despite its relatively simple mechanical package, the new Bajaj ADV does not appear to be short on technology. Spy shots show a full-colour TFT instrument cluster and multifunction switchgear. Turn-by-turn navigation is also expected, while features such as ride modes, switchable traction control and ABS functionality could be offered depending on the final variant. Bajaj has not confirmed the complete electronics package yet, so these features should be treated as expectations rather than final specifications.

There is also speculation around the motorcycle’s name. Bajaj has previously trademarked the Trekker name in India, leading to speculation that it could be used for this motorcycle. However, Bajaj has not officially confirmed the name yet. The motorcycle is expected to make its global debut around November-December 2026, with India either getting the bike around the same period or shortly afterwards. Some reports also suggest a price in the Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh range, although Bajaj has not announced pricing.

Upcoming Honda compact SUV To Use Horse Powertrain Developed Engines

Honda’s all-new compact SUV is still two years away from arriving in showrooms, with production scheduled to start in Q4 2028

In line with its new strategy to leverage external resources for new products, Honda will outsource the powertrains for its upcoming compact SUV, specially designed for India, to Horse Powertrain. There’s a strong possibility that one of these powertrains would be shared with the Renault Bridger, which will arrive earlier.

According to a new report from Autocar Professional, Honda plans to offer a 1.2-litre engine in petrol, petrol-electric hybrid, and petrol-CNG variants in the upcoming India-focused SUV, which will measure no longer than 4,000 mm. This engine capacity and restricted length will qualify the model for a low 18% GST.

This model would be in an extremely competitive segment, so Honda is under pressure to price it right. Developing a new 1.2-litre engine in multiple variants may prove to be too costly, which has pushed Honda to explore outsourcing. Horse Powertrain, owned 45% each by Renault and Geely and 10% by Aramco, already manufactures a 1.2-litre multi-fuel engine, codenamed H12. The company showcased it at ACMA Automechanika in New Delhi this February.

Horse Powertrain is expected to develop a hybrid system based on a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine for the Renault Bridger. Honda may license the same for its sub-4 metre SUV. Of course, each brand may opt for a different state of tune based on their priorities for driving performance and fuel efficiency. Whether the conventional petrol and petrol-CNG engines of the two compact SUVs will also be related remains to be seen.

Outsourcing the powertrain is a clear indication that Honda is going beyond the norm to cut costs and reduce development time. The company is in talks with Tata Technologies for the design and engineering of the sub-4 metre SUV and is expected to involve TCS in the development of the infotainment system. It wants to be ready with the all-new India-focused model in approximately 30 months instead of the usual time of around 49 months.

For the platform, Honda is considering an existing one already commercialised in Indonesia, as per the report. Perhaps the company is evaluating the platform of the second-generation WR-V, not to be confused with the renamed Elevate sold in Japan and Latin America.

Despite the various cost-cutting measures, Honda is targeting a price range of Rs. 9-12 lakh for the upcoming compact SUV. This means that, in the base trim, it could be around Rs. 1 lakh more expensive than the Hyundai Venue, around Rs. 1.5 lakh more than the Maruti Brezza, and around Rs. 1.6 lakh more than the Tata Nexon. The company has set October 2028 as the SOP timeline, aiming for a festive season launch.

Mahindra’s Next Big Product Offensive: 4 New Cars Coming By 2027

Mahindra has a busy product pipeline for the upcoming months, with a global lifestyle pickup, new-generation SUVs and another electric model on the way

Mahindra is preparing for another major expansion of its SUV portfolio, with several new products expected to arrive in India over the next year. The line-up will span very different segments, from the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup to the electric BE.07, while the new NU_IQ architecture will bring a fresh generation of Mahindra SUVs. Here is what to expect.

1. Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler

The Scorpio Lifestyler will be Mahindra’s new lifestyle pickup, based on the Global Pik Up concept first shown in 2023. It uses a new body-on-frame architecture and has been developed in India for global markets. Mahindra says it combines payload capability with everyday usability and adventure-focused design. The India launch is confirmed by April 2027, with prices starting below Rs 19.79 lakh, ex-showroom.

2. Mahindra Vision S

The Vision S will be one of the first production SUVs based on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ multi-energy platform. The concept previews a compact SUV with a sub-four-metre footprint and a claimed 2,665 mm wheelbase, which could translate into a spacious cabin. The platform supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, as well as FWD and AWD layouts, although the final engine options for production are yet to be confirmed. It is expected to arrive in 2027.

3. Mahindra BE.07

The BE.07 will be Mahindra’s next major electric SUV and will sit above the BE 6. The production version is expected to measure around 4.6 metres and use the INGLO born-electric architecture. Reports indicate battery capacities in the 60 to 80 kWh range, while its positioning will put it against models such as the Tata Harrier EV and VinFast VF7. Mahindra has confirmed the BE.07 for 2027.

4. New-Generation Mahindra XUV 3XO

The fourth product is slightly different because Mahindra has not officially confirmed that it will be called the new-generation XUV 3XO. However, the production version of the Vision X concept is widely expected to occupy the same compact SUV space and could eventually replace the current 3XO. It will use the NU_IQ platform, which supports multiple powertrains, including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric configurations. Production of the NU_IQ-based SUVs is scheduled to begin in 2027.

Hyundai’s Big 4 Launches In The Next Few Months

Hyundai is preparing a major product offensive for India, with two new SUVs arriving this year followed by the next-generation Creta and i10

Hyundai is gearing up for one of its busiest product cycles in India in recent years. The company has confirmed multiple new products as part of its India roadmap, including the upcoming Bayon, an all-new Creta, a new compact electric SUV and the next-generation i10. While the Bayon is now close to launch, the other three models are expected to arrive over the next couple of years.

1. Hyundai Bayon

The Bayon is the most immediate launch on this list. Hyundai has already opened bookings for the SUV, with deliveries expected to follow shortly. It is based on the Global K Enhanced platform and will be offered with a petrol engine paired with manual and IVT transmissions.

Hyundai has also confirmed an in-built generative AI voice assistant as one of its key technology highlights. The SUV gets Hyundai’s latest Art of Steel design language, with a prominent SUV stance and distinctive lighting elements. It is expected to sit below the Creta and strengthen Hyundai’s presence in the roughly 4.2-metre SUV space.

2. Next-Gen Hyundai Creta

The Creta is set for a much bigger change. Hyundai has officially confirmed an all-new generation, with the SUV expected to arrive in India by 2027. Test mules have already been spotted, pointing towards a larger and more upright design. The new Creta is expected to move to Hyundai-Kia’s newer K3 platform, which also underpins the latest-generation Seltos. This could bring changes to its dimensions, cabin space, technology and safety equipment. A more advanced infotainment system and expanded ADAS functionality are also expected.

3. Hyundai’s New Compact Electric SUV

Hyundai is also preparing a locally produced compact electric SUV. The model is expected to arrive towards the end of 2026 and will sit below the Creta Electric in Hyundai’s EV line-up. The upcoming EV is expected to use a dedicated/localised electric architecture and will target the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and other compact electric SUVs. Reports suggest it will use locally sourced Exide batteries as Hyundai increases localisation of its EV portfolio.

4. Next-Gen Hyundai i10

Current Nios

The fourth major product is the next-generation i10. It will replace the current Grand i10 Nios, bringing a comprehensive redesign rather than another facelift. Details remain limited at this stage, but the new i10 is expected to receive a thoroughly redesigned exterior and cabin, along with more connected technology and safety features. The existing 1.2-litre petrol and CNG powertrains could continue, although Hyundai has not confirmed the final specifications.

Nissan Tekton Outsells Renault Duster In August – What’s Going Wrong?

Similar pricing and shared mechanicals have not prevented a notable fall in monthly wholesales for either midsize SUV

The Nissan Tekton outsold the Renault Duster in August 2026 by recording a total of 491 units as against 406 units for its Renault sibling. The bigger concern is the direction of their monthly numbers. The Duster’s sales peaked at 2,359 units in April before falling every month thereafter and Tekton dropped from 1,670 units in July to 491 units in August. Thus, both SUVs posted their lowest monthly wholesales since launch.

Price and specifications do not explain the decline though. Both start at a competitive Rs. 10.49 lakh, share their 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo petrol engines and come from the Chennai manufacturing facility and are available in an expansive range. The 1.0-litre motor generates 100 hp and 160 Nm while the 1.3-litre turbo unit kicks out 163 hp and 280 Nm.

As for the transmissions, the smaller turbo mill gets a six-speed manual in both SUVs. The larger unit gains either a six-speed manual or a six-speed wet-clutch DCT with e-shifter in the duo. The similarities stretch further as equipment levels are also competitive and almost the same with large touchscreens, digital instrumentation, panoramic sunroofs, wireless charging, six airbags and several camera-based features available across the respective ranges.

Dealer reach could be one of the bigger obstacles though as both Renault and Nissan operate much smaller retail and service networks than Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra and Kia. It affects showroom visibility, access to test drives and servicing convenience particularly outside larger cities. For a customer spending Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, confidence in the dealer and service network can carry almost as much weight as the SUV itself.

The competitive landscape has also changed dramatically since the original Duster arrived in 2012. Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq now occupy the same space. Powertrain choice is another issue. The Duster and Tekton currently depend mainly on turbo-petrol engines at a time when customers can also choose diesel, CNG, strong-hybrid and electric alternatives.

Perception around after sales support, spare parts availability and resale value could also affect conversion from showroom interest to actual sales. Individual ownership cases differ but established brands often benefit from greater familiarity in these areas. Renault and Nissan also face another task – creating distinct identities for two SUVs that share engines, architecture, dimensions and manufacturing infrastructure. Styling provides some separation and Tekton’s more upright design may have helped it edge ahead in August but the lead of 85 units is too small to establish a clear preference.

Exports show that weak domestic wholesales do not automatically point to a weak product. Nissan exported 1,340 Tektons in August and Renault shipped 1,457 Dusters overseas between April and August. The more immediate problem in India appears to sit around retail conversion, network reach, powertrain spread and brand confidence. Renault and Nissan also plan three-row SUVs which will give both companies another chance to expand their portfolios while the hybridized Duster may salvage things upon arrival next month.

Duster still has the larger cumulative tally at 6,957 units but its slide from 2,359 units in April to 406 units in August is difficult to ignore. Tekton moved ahead last month yet its own 70.6 per cent fall from July shows a similar loss of momentum. The next few months will show whether both SUVs settle into stable volumes or whether the current decline points to a profound retail challenge.

TVS Invites Partners For New Paddock Premium Motorcycle Dealerships

Partner recruitment begins as TVS moves ahead with its dedicated retail network for premium TVS and Norton motorcycles

TVS Motor Company has begun inviting entrepreneurs and motorcycle enthusiasts to join its new Paddock premium retail network. The campaign carries the line, “Turn your passion for motorcycling into a business opportunity,” and asks applicants to “Become a TVS Paddock Partner.” TVS first announced Paddock a few months ago with the rollout scheduled for July to September 2026 period.

The recruitment campaign now arrives near the end of that original rollout window. TVS positions Paddock as an exclusive retail and ownership ecosystem for its premium portfolio and Norton motorcycles. The format covers product discovery, sales, Build-To-Order personalisation, community activities, merchandise, accessories, specialised servicing and aftersales support.

The Hosur-based brand describes the concept around “Precision Performance and Engineering Mastery,” giving its premium motorcycles a separate retail identity from the company’s mainstream commuter business. The showroom format introduces several elements not associated with a regular TVS dealership as well in particular.

TVS plans an end-to-end digital retail journey, dedicated Build-To-Order consultation and customisation zones, premium community spaces and separate merchandise and accessories areas. Paddock will also use what TVS calls an industry-first “swim-lane” product presentation concept. London-based retail design agency Checkland Kindleysides worked with TVS on the store design.

The new Norton Atlas and Atlas GT have already been linked to Paddock as part of Norton’s India expansion. TVS might have also discussed the Manx R and Manx as part of Norton’s new generation international portfolio. Paddock gives Norton a dedicated sales, consultation and service environment in India as opposed to placing the brand inside TVS Motor’s conventional retail network.

Reports have also pointed to premium TVS motorcycles such as the Apache RR 310, Apache RTR 310 and Apache RTX 300 as likely candidates for the Paddock network. They also suggest the channel could eventually accommodate premium EVs and future premium scooters. The partner campaign now shifts attention to the commercial requirements for prospective operators.

TVS has not publicly disclosed the investment needed, minimum showroom area, working-capital requirement, security deposit, partner margin, expected return, service-bay specifications or eligibility conditions. The company has also not confirmed the complete first-city list or the number of Paddock outlets planned in the initial rollout.

Tata Motors today rolled out the most comprehensive update for the Tigor since its launch in 2017 and changed its name to Aeris. The new sub-4 metre sedan has been priced very economically, and here are all the details of each of its variants, along with a breakdown of their prices:

Tata Aeris Smart

Smart is the entry-level variant of the Tata Aeris and comes with basic features such as 14-inch steel wheels, tilt steering, rear-seat headrests, and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster. On the safety front, it includes ABS with EBD & CSC, six airbags, a seatbelt reminder for all seats, and rear parking sensors.

Tata Aeris Pure

The Pure variant brings Bluetooth connectivity to the 5-inch digital instrument cluster and two speakers, allowing customers to enjoy music on the go. It also adds steering-mounted audio controls, front and rear power windows, and 15-watt USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, speed-sensitive auto door locks, follow-me-home headlamps, and central locking with flip key for convenience.

Wheel covers and body-coloured door handles enhance the car’s exterior styling, while a rear defogger improves its safety.

Tata Aeris Pure+

The Pure+ variant further enhances style with 15-inch (petrol)/14-inch (CNG) alloy steel wheels with wheel caps designed to give an alloy wheel look, as well as a shark fin antenna that integrates GPS. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 65-watt USB Type-C ports, and a vanity mirror on the front passenger side for added convenience. Two additional speakers enhance the audio experience.

The Pure+ variant also brings cruise control, although it is worth noting here that Tata Motors excludes this feature in the CNG AMT configuration. A front centre armrest with storage space, rear AC vents, and a rear centre armrest with cupholders improve comfort. Electronic Stability Program with Traction Control (TC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Hill Hold Control, and HD reverse parking camera improve safety.

The Creative variant brings some significant upgrades on the styling front, such as LED headlamps and DRLs, chrome door handles, 15-inch alloy wheels (petrol-only), and LED tail lamps.

An auto headlamp on function, auto-folding ORVMs, passive keyless entry with start-stop button, one-touch power-down driver window, a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, rain-sensing wipers, and cooled glove box provide more convenience. Two tweeters further elevate the audio experience. An automatic climate control system improves comfort, while a 360-degree camera system provides enhanced safety.

JSW Combat PHEV To Launch In India Before The End Of This Year

The five-seater JSW Combat SUV is expected to get a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol PHEV system, twin electric motors and around 90 km electric range

The JSW Combat PHEV is expected to launch in India before the end of 2026 as the company prepares its new five-seat SUV for the local market as its first entry. The Combat is based on the Jetour T2 sold overseas and will likely enter the country as a plug-in hybrid SUV. It could be priced in the upwards of the Rs. 30 lakh and could rival recently launched Kia Sorento and MG Hector Tomahawk.

The cabin is expected to centre on a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system as JSW positions the Combat in the premium SUV space. The equipment list will comprise wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 12-speaker audio system, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof. The front seats will get power adjustment and ventilation too.

The design comes with upright and squared-off proportions of the Jetour T2. It gets LED headlamps, roof rails and 20-inch alloy wheels, and sits on a monocoque chassis. The plug-in hybrid system is expected to revolve around a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine and two electric motors. The India-bound model could get an 18.4 kWh battery pack and an electric-only range of around 90 km.

The global Jetour T2 PHEV gets a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission. The PHEV makes around 360 hp and 610 Nm internationally and the same figures could be available in India too. It will arrive in a front-wheel-drive configuration. The Combat will also gain a substantial camera and driver assistance systems as a 360-degree camera unit, a 540-degree view that can show imagery beneath the vehicle, adaptive cruise control, etc are likely.

JSW currently has a joint venture with MG and is actively expanding its automotive business with a solo entry set to become the key highlight in its plans. The brand is also testing multiple Chery-based products for India as PHEVs, range extenders, strong hybrids and fully electrified vehicles will take the spotlight in its initial phase.

Top 15 Electric Scooters August 2026 – iQube, Chetak, Vida, Rizta, Indie, Orbiter

Bajaj Chetak headed the top 15 electric scooter standings at 52,248 units as sales rise 131 per cent on a YoY basis in August 2026

The electric scooter market garnered a domestic total of 1,88,714 units in August 2026 – up 131.04 per cent against 81,681 units sold during the same period a year earlier. The Bajaj Chetak led the rankings at 52,248 units and secured a 27.69 per cent share. The TVS iQube stood second at 42,882 units as the top two scooters accounted for 50.41 per cent of the total.

The Chetak posted the largest volume gain among the leading established scooters as sales increased by 38,234 units from 14,014 units in August 2025 courtesy of the increase in production. The iQube rose by 18,448 units over the same period and recorded 75.50 per cent YoY growth. The gap between first and second place stood at 9,366 units.

The two Indian auto giants have a long battle in their hands as the zero-emission two-wheeler space gets more traction. The Hero Vida occupied third position at 25,558 units as sales more than doubled from 12,273 units last year. The Ather Rizta ranked fourth at 22,586 units after a 30.22 per cent rise. The leading quartet registered 1,43,274 units and controlled 75.92 per cent of the August market.

The TVS Orbiter made its presence felt as well and ranked fifth at 14,641 units by securing a 7.76 per cent share. The Ampere Magnus stood sixth at 9,772 units as volumes increased 98.46 per cent on a YoY basis. The Ather 450 took seventh position at 6,891 units as its volumes were up 27.30 per cent from 5,413 units sold during the same period twelve months ago.

The River Indie followed at 6,567 units as its sales climbed 194.62 per cent from 2,229 units. The Ampere Reo ranked ninth at 1,911 units after a 271.79 per cent increase. The Honda QC1 stood tenth at 1,902 units and the Bajaj Yulu reached 1,500 units after sales rose from just 150 units a year earlier.

The Ampere Nexus occupied 12th place at 756 units and recorded 106.56 per cent YoY growth. The Suzuki e-Access ranked 13th at 668 units as it finished ahead of the Yamaha ECO6 at 475 units and Ather Konarc at 217 units.

Fifth generation Hyundai Tucson grows in size as Hyundai introduces Pleos Connect, Gleo AI and new safety tech along with longer wheelbase

The all-new 2027 Hyundai Tucson has made its global debut in South Korea as Hyundai introduces the fifth generation of its popular SUV. The new model gets a 242 hp hybrid system, a touchscreen measuring up to 17 inches, Pleos Connect infotainment and plenty of new driver-assistance functions. The SUV has also grown in every key area as Hyundai increases length, width and wheelbase over the previous Tucson.

The new Tucson measures 60 mm longer and 40 mm wider than before as the wheelbase increases by 30 mm. The extra size contributes to 29 mm more rear seat headroom and the rear doors now open to 83 degrees instead of 73 degrees. The aerodynamic coefficient also drops from 0.33 to 0.30 as Hyundai revises the rear spoiler, wheel designs and active air flaps.

The safety package brings in several functions not offered on the previous model. The emergency power door unlocking system uses a backup power supply to release the doors if the main electrical system fails after a collision. The pedal-misuse assist can identify accidental accelerator input at low speeds and reduce acceleration or apply the brakes. The reversing assistant can memorise the previous path and control steering as the vehicle travels backwards along it.

The cabin gains Hyundai’s Pleos Connect system alongside a new digital layout. The centre touchscreen comes in 12.9-inch and 17-inch sizes based on specification and both utilise a 16:9 aspect ratio. The Gleo AI generative assistant supports conversational commands, information searches and route recommendations. The Pleos App Market supports downloadable applications and the display can divide its content between driver and passenger functions.

The equipment list includes dual wireless smartphone chargers, a 100W USB port, relaxing front seats and an available Bang & Olufsen audio system. The steering wheel gets flattened upper and lower sections and fewer physical buttons now occupy the dashboard. The cabin should also become quieter as Hyundai installs thicker insulation behind the dashboard and thicker glass for the front doors.

The exterior comes with Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language as the Tucson uses a more angular SUV profile. The front gets H-shaped daytime running lights and the rear features prismatic lamps inside three-dimensional lenses. The XRT receives its own grille, fender cladding and skid plate. The colour catalogue consists of eight shades including five new finishes such as Driftwood Grey Matte, Redrock Orange Matte and Goyo Copper Pearl.

The 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine kicks out 190 hp through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The new hybrid raises combined output from 231 hp to 242 hp as Hyundai estimates fuel consumption at 5.7 litres per 100 km compared to 6.7 litres previously. The chassis also gets extra rigidity around the front and rear suspension mounting areas and the hybrid receives E-Traction for greater control across uneven surfaces. Plug-in hybrid details have not been disclosed yet.
