2022 Hyundai Tucson Review 6

Hyundai Tucson gets the highest benefits of up to Rs. 1 lakh in June 2025 in India while other models are also sold with good deals except Creta

Hyundai’s nationwide retail slab for June places a wide spread of incentives across hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. Among the more accessible entries in the lineup, the Grand i10 Nios finds itself backed by the highest savings across Hyundai’s hatchback portfolio this month with overall benefits reaching up to Rs 65,000 in the domestic market.

The Aura sub-four-metre sedan and i20 premium hatchback, positioned just above in the volume segment, settle on a uniform offer range of up to Rs 55,000 in June 2025, matched by the Exter — the micro SUV that has been decently received amongst customers. Hyundai’s midsize sedan and three-row crossover models also fall under the brand’s June offer umbrella.

The Verna and Alcazar each carry discounts stretching to Rs 60,000, providing some breathing room for prospective buyers in their respective categories. Hyundai introduced the SX+ variant of the Verna recently. The five-seater is expected to get a mid-life update in the near future. The Alcazar, slotted above the Creta, share identical deal caps with the Verna, though specifics may change between powertrain and trim options.

The second largest car producer in the country is currently developing the next generation Venue ahead of its market launch later this year.

Updated 2025 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE Launched At Rs. 10.30 Lakh

GaadiWaadi -

2025-Suzuki-V-Strom-800DE.jpg

2025 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE gets its 776 cc parallel-twin updated to meet OBD-2B compliance and three new colours have been added

Suzuki has updated its middleweight adventure tourer in India as the V-Strom 800DE has received OBD-2B compliance for 2025. The overall mechanicals remain unchanged but Suzuki has thrown in three new paint schemes to keep things visually current. Pricing stands at Rs. 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and availability is limited to the brand’s large-capacity motorcycle outlets across the country.

The new colours spreads across the range with subtle contrasts and wheel colour treatments doing most of the talking. The Pearl Tech White brings a clean base paired with blue spoke rims while Champion Yellow No.2 leans into Suzuki tradition with dark panel inserts and matching blue wheels. The third option, Glass Sparkle Black, gets more subdued with black rims and layered grey-red graphic work.

Performance continues to come from a 776 cc parallel-twin motor built around a DOHC head and a 270-degree crank, which leans heavily on a loping, V-twin style character. The engine’s tuning walks the line between tractable low-end torque and a freer-revving top end. It develops a maximum power output of 84 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of peak torque at 6,800 rpm.

Chassis duties are handled by a steel main frame while the long wheelbase, upright handlebar sweep and tall riding stance give the 800DE off-road leverage. Suspension for the 2025 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE comes from Hitachi Astemo – better known as SHOWA – with long-travel inverted forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, preload adjustable by hand.

What really expands the 800DE’s footprint off the asphalt is the 220 mm suspension stroke at both ends along with identical ground clearance. Both numbers are higher than anything else previously seen on a V-Strom. Other highlights are a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear rims in aluminium, coupled with wire-spoke wheels and Dunlop’s Trailmax Mixtour tyres.

Key features of the motorcycle are a quickshifter that works in both directions, three ride modes via the SDMS system, traction control with a dedicated gravel mode and a two-step ABS setup. Also fitted are throttle-by-wire, low-RPM assist to prevent stalling and a simplified start button function to get moving quicker.

Commenting on the new launch, Deepak Mutreja, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “With the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE now OBD-2B compliant and available in updated colours, we continue to provide adventure seeking riders with an option that is ready for diverse riding conditions. These updates focus on offering more choice while staying aligned with evolving government norms and rider preferences.”

Tata Safari & Harrier To Get New Diesel & Petrol Engines In Near Future

GaadiWaadi -

Updated Tata Safari Spied1

After licencing the rights for the development of Fiat’s 2.0-litre MultiJet diesel engine, Tata Motors is set to bump up the power output for Harrier and Safari

Tata Motors recently took a huge step for its upcoming powertrain strategy by acquiring the licence for further development of the Fiat’s 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine. This motor powers the brand’s flagship SUVs i.e. Harrier and Safari. Currently, these SUVs are diesel only models and the company is also working on a brand new petrol engine, which is expected to debut in this financial year.

The Harrier and Safari has been powered by the sole 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine since their launch, putting out 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. Now that the Indian carmaker has the right to develop it further, we can expect some changes to the engine, in order to enhance its performance. The agreement gives Tata Motors independent control over the engine’s design, thereby ensuring the liberty to modify and upgrade it as per the requirements.

While the Fiat’s 2.0-litre MultiJet II diesel engine is a potent motor, it somehow fell short in front of its rivals, which offered higher output numbers. The company will likely upgrade the turbo diesel engine to produce higher power, and reports suggest that we could be looking at around 180 bhp.

The torque output figures are also expected to get a bump, and we could see anywhere around 380 Nm, which has become the industry norm for big SUVs. In addition to this, the diesel engine will likely be made available in a lower state of tune as well, particularly for the lower trims of the Harrier and Safari. However, these developments are yet to be officially confirmed.

Talking about the petrol powertrain, it will be a completely new addition to the Harrier and Safari. Tata Motors has been working on a new 1.5-litre tGDi petrol engine for a long time now, and it is expected to debut this financial year. As per the information revealed by the company, the 1.5-litre four-cylinder tGDi gasoline motor will come with a power output rated at 168 bhp and 280 Nm of peak torque.

Updated Tata Safari Spied3

It will likely be mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Since this is an in-house developed engine, we expect the Tata Harrier and Safari petrol to be priced around Rs. 1 lakh lower than the current diesel range.

The upcoming TVS 450cc fully-faired bike will be based on the BMW Motorrad’s 450cc parallel-twin platform; new 450cc Norton motorcycle and an electric scooter are also on the cards

TVS Motor Company is reportedly working on a new 450cc twin-cylinder motorcycle for the Indian market. The development has been confirmed by the senior management of the company, revealing that a slew of new models, including an electric scooter are under works and expected to launch in the near future.

Taking ahead its partnership with BMW Motorrad, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer will launch a new 450cc motorcycle in the country. The upcoming will likely be based on the new 450 twin-platform, which debuted at the EICMA 2024. The BMW Motorrad F 450 GS will be the first motorcycle to use the new underpinnings. It was spotted testing for the first time in India in May this year.

As per the reports, the upcoming 450cc offering will be a fully-fired supersport motorcycle, which will be positioned above the Apache RR 310. It could be dubbed the TVS Apache RR 450, however, nothing can be confirmed as of now. For reference, the current 310cc platform is co-developed with BMW Motorrad and the BMW G310 RR shares the familiar components.

This will be the first engine in the world to sport a 125-degree firing angle. The TVS Apache 450cc motorcycle will use the same powertrain, albeit in a different state of tune in order to suit the characteristics of a supersport bike. In addition to this, the upcoming 450cc motorcycle from the TVS-owned Norton brand is also expected to use the same powertrain with a milder tune, which will go well with the neo-retro roadster.

The company is also working on the development of a new electric scooter, which will likely target the performance end of the segment. It will be completely different from the brand’s current family-friendly iQube range. This new e-scooter will go on sale in this financial year.

Honda Civic Type R Set For India Launch, To Rival Volkswagen Golf GTI

Honda Civic Type R

Honda Civic Type R India debut likely, to challenge Volkswagen Golf GTI

Honda is preparing to introduce its high-performance Civic Type R hatchback to the Indian market, a move set to excite automotive enthusiasts across the country. The Japanese manufacturer is finalising plans to bring the globally acclaimed model, marking a strategic effort to tap into India’s growing niche of performance car buyers.

Unlike the standard Civic sedan previously sold in India, the Civic Type R arrives as a sporty, front-wheel-drive hot hatch. The current generation holds the NĂ¼rburgring lap record for the fastest front-wheel-drive production car, reinforcing its credentials as a serious performance contender. With this launch, Honda is aiming to position itself alongside other premium hot hatches, most notably the recently introduced Volkswagen Golf GTI.

The Golf GTI, launched at Rs. 53 lakhs (ex-showroom), saw strong demand despite its premium pricing. With the Civic Type R, Honda could offer a compelling alternative—depending on the final specification and pricing strategy adopted for the Indian market.

Design and Styling

The Civic Type R sports an aggressive exterior, including a sharp front fascia, wide grille and a prominent rear wing. Smoked tail lamps and a triple centre-mounted exhaust system, with active valves, enhance its performance-oriented aesthetic. It rides on 19-inch matte-black alloy wheels and features aerodynamic upgrades such as a functional diffuser and front lip spoiler.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Civic Type R is driver-focused, highlighted by red suede sports seats and a distinctive red-themed Honda logo. The feature list includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 9-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, red LED ambient lighting, wireless charging and dual-zone climate control. Additional sporty touches include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminium gear knob.

Powertrain and Performance

The car is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged VTEC petrol engine delivering 325 BHP and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, contributing to its performance-focused identity. The Civic Type R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 275 km/hr.

Performance hardware includes Brembo brakes with 350 mm front discs, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, and an adaptive suspension system with a Dual-Axis MacPherson strut at the front and multi-link rear setup, designed for precise cornering and enhanced ride dynamics.

Dimensions and Practicality

Measuring nearly 4.6 metres long and 1.9 metres wide, the Civic Type R maintains a low stance at just over 1.4 metres in height. It offers a 410-litre boot and a 47-litre fuel tank, combining everyday usability with sporty intent. The ground clearance stands at 122 mm, similar to global models.

Pricing and Market Position

While Honda has yet to reveal the official pricing for India, expectations suggest it will be positioned close to the Golf GTI. The final price and feature list will determine whether the Civic Type R can attract buyers seeking a performance hatch that blends track capability with daily usability. It remains to be seen if Honda offers the full global spec or modifies features to hit a more competitive price point.
