GaadiWaadi -

tata avinya electric concept

Here we have listed the upcoming Tata cars that are expected to launch in the coming years in India across different segments

A wide sweep of additions and updates is on the cards as Tata Motors outlines its next phase in the passenger vehicle space. The product roadmap stretches across both new nameplates and revisions to models already in the line up. According to the company’s internal targets, no fewer than 30 new offerings are expected to be rolled out before the end of the decade.

Tata’s future product range will see seven completely new nameplates added. Between internal combustion and electric drivetrains, the company is now working to nearly double its existing passenger vehicle range. The expanded portfolio is part of a wider product blitz, unfolding just as the race for the number two spot in India’s PV market heats.

With the refreshed Altroz already on sale and the Harrier EV now officially in motion, Tata will soon begin rolling out its long term expansion strategy. The timing is not incidental. Both Mahindra and Hyundai are gearing up to flood the market with new models over the next five years, intensifying competition across every price bracket. Tata’s expanded push signals a clear intention: to fortify its current foothold while keeping pace with the fast evolving segments.

The reborn Sierra is set to rejoin Tata’s lineup later this financial year – offered in both electric and ICE versions. Alongside it, the Avinya range is being readied to give the brand a stronger foothold in the premium segment. Meanwhile, work is ongoing on 23 internal combustion models with the new-generation Nexon and an updated Punch featuring prominently in that batch.

We can expect mid-cycle updates for its entry-level models such as the Tiago and Tigor. The electric Sierra will precede the launch of its ICE counterpart. Tata has set aside as much as Rs 35,000 crore for its passenger vehicle operations between FY2026 and FY2030. Reports also indicate that Tata is exploring the possibility of bringing in hybridised models in the coming years.

The allocation covers a wide spectrum, ranging from next-generation powertrain engineering and upgraded electronics to deeper investments in in-house software and connected systems. Much of this financial backing will also drive development of upcoming models that are already in the pipeline.

Both the Harrier and Safari are set to receive a petrol engine option by the end of the current financial year. The new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit is expected to produce 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque – introducing a long-awaited alternative to the existing diesel lineup. Alongside this, the company is also working on a mid-cycle update for the Punch EV while the Nexon EV will also get updates in the near future.

New Kia Seltos

Hyundai and Kia will launch the new-generation models of their popular midsize SUVs namely Creta and Seltos, respectively, in the next 12-18 months

The South-Korean brands Hyundai and Kia will introduce the new-generation model of their popular midsize SUVs in the coming 12-18 months in the Indian market. The SUVs in question here are Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which will receive generational change. The new-gen models have been confirmed to carry a hybrid powertrain setup, which will be a first for both the SUVs. Here in this piece, we will talk in detail about the upcoming new-gen Hyundai Creta and new-gen Kia Seltos in the domestic market.

1. New-gen Hyundai Creta Hybrid

The third-gen Hyundai Creta, slated to launch by early 2027, will become the brand’s first model to get the hybrid tech. Besides the regular petrol and diesel engines, for the first time, it will come with a hybrid engine option. The naturally-aspirated 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine will get the hybrid treatment as the SUV will lock horns with the Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Renault Duster hybrid and the new Nissan hybrid SUV.

Hyundai India, in view of the upcoming CAFE 3 emission standards, is planning to introduce hybrid versions of its SUV models in the range of Rs 15-30 lakh. Needless to state, Hyundai Creta hybrid will be more efficient than before while sold in the domestic market as well as exported to multiple global markets.

2. New-Gen Kia Seltos Hybrid

The new-gen Seltos will come with a petrol-hybrid engine setup as confirmed by the brand on the 2025 Investor Day. It will launch at least six months before the new-gen Creta hybrid, which is expected to debut in early 2027. So, the new-gen Kia Seltos hybrid is likely to hit the Indian roads by mid 2026 while sharing the petrol-hybrid powertrain with the Creta hybrid.

The front fascia will flaunt redesigned headlight assembly while riding on newly designed alloy wheels, revealed the spy images. The rear profile has also been transformed heavily to differ from the ongoing model.

Adorning Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy seen on the Syros and EV9, the new-gen Seltos hybrid will also undergo substantial updates inside the cabin. It will borrow several high-end premium features from the EV5 and EV9. The new-gen Kia Seltos will carry the same naturally-aspirated 1.5L petrol, 1.5L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L diesel engines.

This article lists the 4 upcoming Hyundai Creta rival SUVs in India from key brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Renault among others

Hyundai Creta has single-handedly dominated the midsize SUV segment for last decade as it originally went on sale in July 2015 in the Indian market. For the last five consecutive years, it is the best-selling SUV model in India while also being Hyundai’s third best-selling car globally since 2019. In the coming 8-12 months, Hyundai Creta will get newer contenders from leading brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Renault among others. In this piece, we will talk in length about the 4 new Creta rival SUVs launching soon in the domestic market.

1. Maruti Escudo

Internally codenamed as Maruti Y17, it will be launched in the next 2-3 months in the Indian market. The Escudo will be slotted between the Brezza and Grand Vitara while sold via the regular Arena dealerships. The SUV has already been spotted testing multiple times and the spy-shots have confirmed a 5-seater layout, contrary to earlier reports that it will have a three-row, seven-seater configuration.

Several media reports claim that the Maruti Escudo will be longer in length than the Brezza to offer an extended boot capacity. For reference, Maruti Brezza measures under 4 metres in length to avail the subsidy benefits of the government. Mahindra starts preparing for the first cosmetic update for its flagship ICE model, which mainly competes with the Tata Safari

Launched in September 2021, the Mahindra XUV700 is nearly four years old now. A mid-cycle refresh is in the works for the brand’s flagship ICE model, and many of the revisions coming with this update have already been revealed.

Mahindra has begun testing the facelifted XUV700 on public roads, and spy shots captured during this process have helped us understand some of the planned design changes. These images have shown the facelifted XUV700 featuring revised headlamps with dual U-shaped clusters and a new six-slot radiator grille.

One of the prototypes has been spotted with what appears to be a revised rear bumper with a new design for the reflectors. Additionally, we expect Mahindra to incorporate a new front bumper and use new 18-inch alloy wheels on the refreshed XUV700. The company will likely offer one or two new paint options as well.

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift1

Inside, the new Mahindra XUV700 could feature a revised dashboard design and a new colour scheme for a fresh look. The third display could allow the front passenger to set or make changes to the route of navigation, watch videos, play games, and even make video calls, making their journeys fun and more engaging.

Mahindra currently offers the XUV700 with three engine options and two transmission choices, and it is expected to keep all of them unchanged with the facelift. A 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that 147 kW (197 hp) and 380 Nm of torque is the base option, linked to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

GaadiWaadi -

Modified innova hycross3

Toyota India posted a strong sales growth in May 2025 with sales numbers close to 30k units in the domestic market

Toyota India became the fifth largest four-wheeler brand in the Indian market by retailing 29,280 units in May 2025. The biggest contributors in this success were the Innova, Hyryder and Glanza which accounted for nearly 72 percent of the overall sales numbers. The company sold more than 21k units of these three passenger vehicles last month in the domestic market. In particular, Toyota Hyryder registered its highest-ever monthly sales till date with 7573 units with a YoY growth of 94 percent (May 2024: 3906 units).

Toyota Innova has been the brand’s highest-selling model for the last so many years. In May 2025, the Japanese brand sold a total of 8882 units of the MPV in the Indian market against 8548 units in the same month last year. Though the YoY growth was minimal at 4 percent, these numbers were enough for Toyota to clinch the fifth spot in the list of top 10 OEMs in India.

Toyota Glanza, the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, too had a decent outing with sales numbers of 4753 units in May 2025. It was the second best-selling model in the premium hatchback segment, surpassing the volumes of Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz which stood at 4090 and 2779 units, respectively. Maruti Baleno was the top selling premium hatch with 11,618 units.

Toyota India had launched the Fortuner hybrid earlier this month in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 44.72 lakh (ex-showroom), it comes with a 48V battery which is paired with the 2.8L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. Being the rebadged version of the Maruti e-Vitara, it will be manufactured by Maruti Suzuki and supplied to Toyota, akin to the Glanza and Rumion.
