MG June 2025 Sales Analysis – Windsor, Astor, Hector, Comet

GaadiWaadi -

MG Windsor EV

MG recorded a domestic total of 5,829 units in June 2025 as against 4,644 units with a YoY sales growth of 26 per cent

In the month of June 2025, JSW MG Motor posted a domestic total of 5,829 units – recording a 26 per cent improvement over the same month last year. However, the month-on-month numbers dipped 8 per cent compared to May 2025. At the top of the list sits the recently introduced Windsor – accounting for 3,799 units last month.

The midsize EV has been the best-seller for the brand since its market launch and it continues to draw volumes – helping the British brand to register decent monthly sales. However, compared to the previous month of May 2025, the Windsor EV’s sales slipped slightly – down by 4 per cent as 3,939 units were garnered.

The Comet, which has been MG’s most accessible product, contributed 856 units. The figure represents a 34 per cent decline from June 2024 – though it saw a mild 4 per cent improvement compared to May 2025. Meanwhile, the Hector – once MG’s headline SUV -continued its decline. Sales stood at 757 units in June – nearly halved from the 1,713 units sold a year earlier.

Gloster 34 132 -74%
Astor 66 938 -93%
Total 5,829 4,644 26%

The drop from May was sharper still with volumes down 31 per cent month-on-month. The electrified ZS EV saw a drop in both directions: 317 units in June 2025 – down 43 per cent from June 2024 and 12 per cent lower than the previous month. The Astor and Gloster, two models that hold strategic importance in MG’s portfolio, have now slipped into marginal territory.

The Astor midsize SUV’s sales plummeted to just 66 units in June – a 93 per cent collapse compared to June last year while Gloster managed only 34 units. Notably, the latter had posted zero deliveries in May. MG is now preparing to expand its premium portfolio with the arrival of the M9 luxury MPV – the longest electric MPV in the market.

Bentley EXP 15 Design Vision Concept Revealed

Bentley EXP 15 Front

Bentley EXP 15 Design Vision Concept Revealed, Features Design Cues Which Will Be Utilised On The Brand’s Future EVs

Bentley Motors has revealed the EXP 15 Concept, a bold vision of future luxury and design. Showcased inside its new design studio, the concept honours Bentley’s Grand Tourer heritage. It merges 1930s elegance with modern innovation to preview the brand’s electric future.

Styling

Inspired by the 1930 Bentley Speed Six “Blue Train,” the EXP 15 features an upright grille and elongated bonnet. These classic elements are combined with sharp surfacing and futuristic lighting. Active aerodynamics and modern materials ground the design in present-day technology.

Though not intended for production, EXP 15 influences future Bentley models, including its first fully electric car. New proportions and body language are highlighted by the concept. It also explores creative ways to repurpose traditional elements for electric platforms.

Five exterior design principles define EXP 15’s form: Upright Elegance, Iconic Grille, Endless Bonnet Line, Resting Beast, and Prestigious Shield. These principles shape the vehicle’s balance of heritage and innovation. Each detail reinforces Bentley’s new design language.

The concept enhances the front grille, now incorporating light technology for digital artistry. Slim, split headlights define the car’s width and edges. Together, they create a strong and recognisable front identity.

The side profile features muscular haunches and sleek proportions that suggest motion even at rest. Flowing lines connect past and present. Twin bonnet panels recall vintage piano-style engine covers.

The rear design incorporates clean surfacing and diamond-patterned lighting. Twin spoilers and an active diffuser add function and flair. A new Bentley emblem crowns the tailgate with authority.

Interior

Inside, the EXP 15 introduces a three-seat, three-door layout. The driver has a dedicated door and cocooned seat. The passenger side features coach doors and a swiveling seat for elegance and ease.

The seat can rotate outward for graceful entry and exit. It also adjusts into different configurations: Co-pilot, Standard, or Relax. Rear-seat comfort is enhanced by footrests and pet-friendly floor storage.

A blend of tradition and technology characterises materials throughout the cabin. Wool textiles from Fox Brothers meet 3D-printed titanium details. Historic silk fabrics sit beside glowing metal mesh for a unique sensory mix.

The dashboard, called the Wing Gesture, fuses physical craftsmanship with digital flexibility. It can display infotainment or vanish to reveal wood veneer. At its centre, a mechanical “clock” provides functional and aesthetic delight.

This element, known as the Mechanical Marvel, merges analogue beauty with digital intelligence. It shows direction, battery state, or just serves as art. Bentley’s belief in blending tactile and virtual worlds is reflected in it.

Unique Features

Bentley EXP 15’s user experience predicts needs and adapts to driver mood. The technology can appear or melt away on command. This interaction provides both luxury and calmness.

The rear boot opens to reveal fold-out seats and a mini fridge. It transforms into an upscale picnic space. Painted in Pallas Gold, the car’s body uses advanced aluminium pigment. It allows radar and Lidar signals to pass through.

This innovation ensures compatibility with autonomous driving systems. Four interior themes combine British heritage with modern aesthetics. Jacquard silk and acrylic mesh create glowing quilted patterns.

These backlit materials form an “active 3D quilt” across surfaces.

Powertrain

The concept’s electric powertrain offers all-wheel drive and long range. The brand has not revealed specific information other than the fact that it supports fast charging. However, it is safe to assume that performance will be central to the EXP 15.

Outlook

The Bentley EXP 15 is not retro, nor is it a direct preview of a production car. It boldly points to the future as a celebration of craftsmanship, emotion, and innovation.

Top 10 Hatchbacks June 2025 – Swift, WagonR, Tiago, Altroz, Glanza

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Altroz

In June 2025, Maruti Suzuki Swift finished on top of the hatchback sales table ahead of WagonR, Baleno, Tiago and Alto

The hatchback segment, long a cornerstone of the Indian passenger vehicle market in the past, showed more wear than resilience in June 2025. While volume leaders held on to familiar positions, the year-on-year comparisons reveal consistent declining signs in some of the biggest names in the auto industry.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift retained its place at the top but the numbers tell a different script. With 13,275 units dispatched in June, the model registered a 19 per cent drop from its June 2024 total. The WagonR, also from Maruti Suzuki’s long running hatchback stable, ended the month narrowly behind at 12,930 units which represented a 6 per cent decline year-on-year.

Further down, the Baleno’s sharp reversal stood out. The model, once a fixture among the top three, reported 8,966 units for June 2025 – down 40 per cent from the same period last year, the steepest slide in the list. Fourth spot went to Tata Motors’ Tiago. Unlike most of its peers, the small hatch saw an uptick in total domestic volumes.

10 Maruti Suzuki Celerio (-32%) 2,038 2,985

The homegrown manufacturer recorded 6,032 units in June – a 17 per cent rise over last year’s 5,174. The tally placed it ahead of Maruti Suzuki Alto which, in contrary, dropped to fifth position with 5,045 units – registering a 35 per cent year-on-year drop. The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios came in sixth – slipping 14 per cent to 4,237 units.

Tata’s Altroz followed with 3,974 units – just a one per cent gain over its performance a year ago. In eighth was the Hyundai i20, down 29 per cent from June 2024 to 3,785 units. The Toyota Glanza premium hatchback, also affected by the downturn, mirrored the i20’s fall rate with 2,938 units for the month in the domestic market.

The Maruti Suzuki Celerio, last on the list, ended at 2,038 units – a 32 per cent decline year-on-year. Even with five models in the top ten, Maruti Suzuki faced noticeable setbacks across the board. The company’s long dominant hatchback portfolio is contending with different buyer priorities and increased competition from feature loaded compact SUV alternatives.

Mahindra will launch an all-new 7-seater electric SUV by the end of 2025; Renault Boreal 7-seater SUV to go on sale next year

Currently, the 7-seater SUV segment in India is flourishing at a rapid pace, fuelled by the growing demand for large SUVs that can cater to the requirements of family-oriented customers. In line with this, a slew of new 7-seater SUVs are scheduled to go on sale in the domestic market in 2025-2026. Let’s look at the upcoming 7-seater SUVs launching in India.

1. Mahindra XEV 7e

Mahindra-XEV-7e-XUV-700-EV.jpg

Mahindra will likely introduce a new electric SUV in the Indian market in the form of the XEV 7e. The electrified version of the XUV700 has already been spotted testing in India, and it will be the first mass-market 7-seater electric SUV in the country. Expected to launch by the end of 2025, the EV SUV will be based on the INGLO skateboard platform shared with the XEV 9e and BE 6. The XEV 7e will likely be offered in two battery pack options, i.e. 59 kWh and 79 kWh, with rear wheel drive as standard. We expect both 6-seater and 7-seater layouts to be offered at the time of launch.

Based on the Dacia Bigster, the Boreal will likely be offered in India in a 7-seater configuration. Underpinned by the CMF modular platform, the SUV measures 4,556 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,702 mm. Internationally, the Renault Boreal is powered by a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, putting out 163 hp and 270 Nm in its flex fuel guise. The petrol-only version gets a 138 hp/156 hp state of tune with 240 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

3. MG Majestor

JSW MG Motor India is ready to launch the Majestor SUV in the country. The 7-seater full-size SUV is the facelifted model of the Gloster, featuring a refreshed exterior design, which resembles the Maxus D90 SUV sold in international markets. MG will continue to sell Gloster alongside the new SUV. Under the hood, the SUV will likely be powered by the familiar 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, putting out 216 bhp and 479 Nm of peak torque. It will be paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, channelling power to the rear wheels. Much like the Gloster, the 4WD setup will also be on offer.

While the details regarding the Nissan 7-seater SUV are scarce at the moment, the powertrain setup will be shared with the Renault Boreal, comprising the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a DCT automatic gearbox.

Skoda VW Sales Analysis June 2025 – Kylaq, Slavia, Taigun, Golf

GaadiWaadi -

Skoda Kylaq SUV

Kylaq gives Skoda its much-needed push in sales in June 2025 while Volkswagen managed to drop from the same month last year

Volkswagen Group’s core brands Skoda and Volkswagen had a decent month in India in June 2025. While both continued struggling with a minuscule market share, individually their sales performance was good, given the slow overall time for the Indian car market.

Skoda particularly performed well in June 2025, selling 5,014 cars and registering a 95% year-over-year growth. For reference, 2,566 Skodas were sold in the same month last year. As expected, the locally manufactured, MQB A0 IN platform-based models were the top sellers.

The Kylaq outsold all other Skodas by a big margin, registering 3,196 units. The Kushaq and Slavia both were below 1,000 units, interestingly with the latter recording a higher figure despite being a sedan. Skoda delivered 792 units of the Kushaq and 896 units of the Slavia. Compared to June 2024, these figures marked a year-over-year decline of 34% and 27%, respectively.

As for imports, Skoda delivered 130 units of the Kodiaq, which it assembles in India from imported knocked-down kits. Compared to June 2024, its sales were 5% down. It has yet to be seen if the recently launched second-gen model, which is very expensive, picks up steam in the coming months.

Volkswagen saw its sales decline in June 2025, but not by a big margin. The company sold 3,089 cars last month, 5% lower than in June 2024 (3,260 units). Unlike Skoda, it does not have an affordable sub-4 metre model on sale that can achieve big volumes. Rumour has it a corporate cousin in the name of VW Tera, similar to the one sold in Brazil, could be headed our way.

The Tiguan recorded just five units in sales for obvious reasons, 94% lower than in June 2024 (85 units). The recently launched Golf (GTI) saw 138 units being delivered in its first month of sales.

4 New Compact Electric SUVs Set To Arrive Soon From Big Brands

GaadiWaadi -

Hyundai-Inster-3.jpg

Here we have listed the soon-arriving four new compact electric SUVs from brands like Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra and Kia in India

The compact electric SUV segment is heading for a crowded grid as multiple manufacturers prepare to introduce new models over the next year and a half. Activity is expected to intensify particularly at the lower end of the EV market where the focus remains on affordability, practicality and usable range.

Tata, Hyundai, Mahindra and Kia each look set to bring new contenders to the segment as a handful of launches are in the pipeline:

1. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV:

Mahindra-XUV-3XO-EV-Spied.jpg

Mahindra’s electric derivative of the XUV 3XO has been spotted undergoing multiple test cycles – suggesting that its launch may not be far off. Expected to sit below the XUV400 in the brand’s EV hierarchy, the new model could use its sibling’s battery and drivetrain setup. Though the overall profile is likely to stay close to the ICE version, minor visual changes inside and out may be introduced to mark its electric identity. Once launched, it will line up against the Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, etc.

2. Hyundai Inster Based EV:

Hyundai-Inster-4.jpg
Hyundai Inster

Hyundai is lining up several electric offerings for the Indian market with the global Inster-based compact SUV slated to be one of the first models to arrive. Expected to reach showrooms in late 2026, the Inster EV has already made its presence felt overseas but it will likely boast India-specific changes and could be sold with two battery packs.

3. Kia Syros Electric:

Kia Concept EV2
Kia Concept EV2

The battery-powered version of the Syros which has drawn decent attention in its petrol form will more likely arrive on Indian roads in 2026. Built on foundations likely shared with the forthcoming Carens Clavis EV, the Syros EV is expected to be positioned squarely against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 in the compact electric SUV bracket. Range figures could exceed 480 km per charge at least on paper.

4. Tata Punch EV Facelift:

tata punch facelift

A mid-cycle refresh for the Tata Punch EV which currently sits among the top-selling electric vehicles in the country is expected to land sometime in early 2026. The updated model is set to inherit Tata’s latest design cues seen on newer products. Beyond the styling revisions, an extended equipment list and enhancements to overall driving range could be on the cards.
