Ultraviolette X-47 Crossover Gets A New Base Variant At Rs. 2.49 Lakh

GaadiWaadi -

Ultraviolette X47 Crossover (4)

The new base variant of the Ultraviolette X-47 has been priced Rs. 15,000 below the existing Original variant that previously sat at the bottom of the range

Ultraviolette has added a new entry point to the X-47 Crossover lineup – listing a base variant on its website at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom) – Rs. 15,000 below the existing Original variant that previously sat at the bottom of the range. The addition takes the total number of X-47 variants to six with the price list ranging from Rs 2.49 lakh to Rs 4.59 lakh for the top spec Desert Wing.

The one thing the new base variant does without is the Ultraviolette Hypersense radar system. On the Original and higher variants, Hypersense brings rear collision warnings, lane change assist, overtake alerts and blind spot detection – a suite of safety features that draws from automotive grade radar technology.

Dropping it for the base variant brings the price down while keeping the mechanical package the same for riders who want the X-47 crossover without the advanced safety tech. Everything else carries over unchanged as you might expect as it continues to be one of the sought after electric propositions from the Bengaluru-based manufacturer.

Variant Price (Ex-showroom)
X-47 Rs 2.49 lakh
X-47 Original Rs 2.64 lakh
X-47 Original+ Rs 3.09 lakh
X-47 Recon Rs 3.59 lakh
X-47 Recon+ Rs 4.09 lakh
X-47 Desert Wing Rs 4.59 lakh

The 27 kW electric motor is accompanied by a 7.1 kWh battery pack and the crossover boasts a 211 km claimed riding range. It gets a 145 kmph top speed and can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.8 seconds – identical across all six variants. The Rs. 2.49 lakh tag positions the base X-47 competitively against tourers at this price point.

It gives consumers who are primarily interested in the platform’s performance credentials a way in without paying for technology they may not prioritise. The Rs. 15,000 saving over the Original variant is modest in absolute terms but makes a difference at a price point where every rupee counts for a buyer already stretching toward a premium electric motorcycle.

Ferrari’s First EV ‘Luce’ Debuts With 1050 HP, 530 Km Range & 0-100 In 2.5 S

GaadiWaadi -

Ferrari-Luce-1.jpg

Ferrari Luce is equipped with four e-motors capable of over 1050 hp while torque measured at the wheels climbs to 11,500 Nm

Five seats, four electric motors, rear wheels measuring 24 inches and more than 1050 hp combined output were never part of Ferrari’s traditional formula. Yet here we are in the modern era! The newly revealed Ferrari Luce changes the historic perception completely as Maranello enters the fully electric era with its most radical road car architecture yet.

Presented in Rome at the Vela di Calatrava, the Luce becomes Ferrari first series production EV while opening an entirely new segment for the company. Ferrari says the car sits alongside its combustion and hybrid lineup instead of replacing existing powertrains. Development remained fully in-house with the battery, motors and electronic systems engineered directly in Maranello.

Dimensionally, the Ferrari Luce is among the largest models ever produced by the brand. Length stands at 5,026 mm while width measures 1,999 mm and height reaches 1,544 mm. The wheelbase stretches to 2,961 mm and weight distribution sits at 47 per cent front and 53 per cent rear with the kerb weight standing at 2,260 kg.

Ferrari-Luce-2.jpg

The design introduces a completely different visual direction shaped with assistance from LoveFrom – the design collective led by Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson. A shell like glasshouse dominates the silhouette while floating aerodynamic wings guide airflow around the body. Transparent light panels, halo style tail lamps inspired by the 360 Modena and flush surfacing further separate the Luce from traditional Ferraris.

Wheel sizes are enormous even by supercar standards. Front tyres measure 265/35 R23 while the rear uses 315/30 R24 rubber. Ferrari says this is the largest staggered wheel setup ever fitted to one of its production road cars. The cabin gains a cleaner architecture than current Ferrari interiors. Mechanical toggles, switches and rotary controls remain but they now work alongside Samsung developed multifunction digital displays.

Materials include recycled anodised aluminium, Gorilla Glass and premium leather upholstery. A 21-speaker 3000 watt audio system with 24 channel amplification is also available. Performance figures are extraordinary even within the hypercar category. Combined output from the four motors reaches 1050 hp while torque measured at the wheels climbs to 11,500 Nm.

Torque at the motors themselves is rated at 990 Nm. Ferrari claims 0 to 100 kmph in 2.5 seconds, 0 to 200 kmph in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of more than 310 kmph. Each wheel receives its own electric motor and dedicated control systems for traction, regeneration and steering. The front axle output stands at 210 kW while the rear axle alone produces 620 kW.

Ferrari-Luce-.jpg

The front electric motors spin up to 30,000 rpm while the rear units reach 25,500 rpm while power comes from a 122 kWh battery pack operating on an 800 volt electrical architecture. The battery uses 210 cells arranged across 15 modules and supports charging speeds up to 350 kW. The estimated driving range goes more than 530 km per charge.

Ferrari says the Luce introduces several firsts including electric all wheel drive, active aerodynamic grilles, elastically mounted rear subframe and a new Vehicle Control Unit capable of processing vehicle dynamics inputs 200 times every second. Four wheel steering, torque vectoring, adaptive suspension and regenerative braking systems work together simultaneously. The brand has engineered an authentic sound system using accelerometers mounted around the drivetrain to capture vibrations and mechanical textures.

7-Seater Kia Sorento SUV Spied Testing Again Fueling Launch Rumours

GaadiWaadi -

Kia Sorento (4)

Kia Sorento is expected to be amongst the next lineup of launches planned as it could arrive in its hybrid avatar in India

A heavily camouflaged three row SUV wearing upright proportions and vertical lighting elements has been spotted once again and all signs now point towards Kia preparing the Sorento for India. While the company has not officially confirmed the model yet, repeated road tests suggest development work for local conditions is already underway.

The latest sighting arrives shortly after Kia outlined its long term India strategy during the 2026 CEO Investor Day presentation where the brand confirmed plans to expand its domestic lineup to 10 products before the end of the decade. Electrification will play a major part of this expansion with hybrids and EVs expected to dominate upcoming launches.

Among the products believed to be part of the roadmap is the Sorento Hybrid alongside the electric Syros and a hybrid version of the Carnival. If launched here, the Sorento would become Kia’s first hybrid SUV for India while also pushing the company deeper into the premium three row SUV category currently dominated by diesel models.

Kia Sorento 2026 Spied India 1

Internationally, the SUV measures close to 4.8 metres in length and rides on a wheelbase of around 2.8 metres giving it noticeably larger proportions than products such as Seltos and Carens. Under the bonnet, Kia is expected to introduce a 1.6-litre turbo petrol hybrid setup for India. In overseas markets, the standard hybrid version develops around 238 hp while the plug in hybrid derivative produces nearly 288 hp.

Transmission duties are handled through automatic gearboxes including six speed and dual clutch units depending on the variant and market. All wheel drive configurations may also likely be part of the package considering the positioning and global specifications. For India though, Kia could eventually localise certain components and recalibrate the powertrain package to improve pricing competitiveness and fuel efficiency under local driving conditions.

Kia Sorento 2026 Spied India

Even beneath the camouflage, the SUV reveals several styling cues linked to Kia latest global design direction – the upright stance, squared body sections and vertically stacked lighting signatures. The company reportedly wants annual production volumes to approach 50,000 units with both domestic sales and export operations under consideration.

Pricing for the Sorento Hybrid could land near the Rs. 40 lakh mark (ex-showroom) placing it directly against products such as Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster and soon-launching Honda ZR-V hybrid.

All-New Toyota Compact Land Cruiser SUV To Likely Debut In 2028

GaadiWaadi -

Toyota Electric Land Cruiser Se Concept-5

Toyota Land Cruiser Se Concept is expected to spawn a new lifestyle monocoque SUV By 2028 for the global markets different from the FJ

Toyota is developing a monocoque based SUV under the Land Cruiser nameplate drawing directly from the Land Cruiser Se Concept first shown at the Japan Mobility Show in 2023. Expected to reach production around 2028, the model takes the Land Cruiser portfolio in a direction it has never gone before – away from body-on-frame construction and hardcore off-road priorities toward a design led proposition for customers.

The Land Cruiser Se Concept gave the first indication of where this is heading. At 5,150 mm long, 1,990 mm wide and 1,705 mm tall, the concept carried a noticeably sleeker and lower stance than any existing Land Cruiser model. The production version is expected to be considerably more compact – measuring around 4.4 metres in length and sitting in the global midsize SUV bracket.

It is a segment where lifestyle off-roaders and family-based SUVs overlap. This positions it below the LC 300 and LC 250 in the hierarchy while reaching a profile neither of those models currently addresses. The architecture underneath will speculatively be a flexible platform capable of supporting both battery electric and hybrid electric powertrains.

Toyota Electric Land Cruiser Se Concept-3

The ability could give Toyota the chance to sell the model across different global markets with varying degrees of electrification depending on infrastructure readiness and regulatory requirements. A next generation DIRECT4 all wheel drive system is expected to manage torque distribution dynamically – retaining credible all-terrain capability despite the transition towards monocoque construction.

The SUV could be engineered as a software defined vehicle built around Toyota’s Arene platform. Over the air updates, advanced driver assistance systems and continuous software improvements are part of the brief. Seating may span three rows for most markets with a two row layout likely for select regions where seven seat configurations are less commercially relevant.

Toyota Electric Land Cruiser Se Concept-2

Alongside this rumored project, Toyota boasts smaller Land Cruiser FJ – a more compact and body-on-frame model which surfaces separately and even considered for markets like India. The two models serve different ends of the Land Cruiser buyer spectrum.

Tata Tiago Facelift To Be Launched On 28th May

Tata Tiago EV Blitz Edition

The vehicle will get redesigned exteriors to match the design philosophy that Tata has followed with the Altroz and Punch facelift. It will have sleeker headlamps, new bumpers, new wheels and a slimmer grille. The tail gate will also be redesigned a little and we can expect Tata to rejig the colour options as well. The EV could get a different grille to differentiate it from the ICE version.

On the inside, the Tiago already comes with a good set of features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, illuminated steering wheel, etc. Expect the facelift to get a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and maybe adjustable rear headrests. A new upholstery colour theme is also on the cards.

The ICE Tiago won’t have any mechanical changes as such. It will continue with the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, Revotron petrol engine which comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. The hatchback also gets a factory-fitted CNG option. The Tiago EV is likely to deliver a little more range.

Skoda Epiq Unveiled; Compact EV May Come To India To Rival Creta EV

Skoda Epiq 1

The all-new Skoda Epiq has finally been revealed in production form, and it marks an important step in Skoda’s EV journey. Positioned as the brand’s smallest and most affordable electric SUV globally, the Epiq is aimed at buyers who want a practical EV without spending premium money.

Despite being the entry-level EV in Skoda’s international lineup, the Epiq doesn’t look basic. The SUV adopts Skoda’s new design language, which gives it a clean and futuristic appearance while still retaining the rugged SUV stance buyers like. The upright proportions, slim LED lighting and chunky bumpers help it stand out.

Inside, the Epiq appears modern but practical which is something Skoda has traditionally done well. The cabin gets a large 13-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting, wireless smartphone connectivity and even features like a panoramic sunroof and ADAS on higher variants. Thankfully, Skoda has also retained physical controls for key functions, which is becoming increasingly rare in modern cars and will definitely be appreciated by everyday users.

What makes the Epiq more interesting is the variety on offer. Buyers can choose between two battery packs — 38.5 kWh and 55 kWh — with power outputs ranging from 116 HP to 211 HP. The claimed range of up to 440 km from the larger battery also sounds promising for daily commuting as well as occasional long-distance drives. Fast charging support further adds to its practicality.

Globally, compact electric SUVs are becoming extremely important as customers move away from traditional hatchbacks. The Epiq enters this space as a well-rounded product that focuses on usability, practicality and affordability rather than just outright performance or flashy gimmicks.

For India, however, the big question remains whether Skoda will eventually bring the Epiq here. The compact dimensions, practical cabin and strong focus on value could make it a very interesting option for Indian buyers, especially as the EV market continues to grow. Pricing will ultimately decide its success, but on paper, the Epiq certainly looks like one of Skoda’s most sensible EVs yet.

Hero MotoCorp Plans To Launch 12+ New Models In FY27 In India

GaadiWaadi -

2025_Hero_Karizma_XMR_210.jpg

The growth plan of Hero MotoCorp in FY27 revolves around its sub-brand Vida’s EVs, Xoom scooters and upcoming premium bikes

Tripling electric scooter production, doubling Xoom capacity and preparing more than a dozen new launches are now part of Hero MotoCorp’s next expansion phase. After recording notable gains during FY26, the country largest two wheeler manufacturer expects another year of double digit growth with scooters, EVs and premium motorcycles.

For years, Hero’s growth relied on commuter motorcycles but the company’s product versatility is now changing towards higher value categories. Scooters are becoming increasingly important within this transition and Hero has already expanded manufacturing capability for the Xoom lineup while work on increasing Destiny production is nearing completion.

Hero is rapidly scaling production of its Vida range of e-scooters and expects manufacturing output to nearly triple before the end of calendar year 2026. The brand also believes electric scooters could account for more than half of its total scooter volumes by 2030 as adoption increases gradually across Indian cities and smaller towns.

Contrary to attempting extremely rapid nationwide EV expansion immediately, Hero is focusing on a more region specific rollout. Retail and service operations for Vida are being expanded market by market while localisation levels and supply chain integration are also being improved simultaneously. The company is preparing more than 12 new products in the current FY

It will look to bring in new offerings in both electric and petrol powered two-wheeler categories. Premium motorcycles and 125 cc plus models are expected to contribute a larger share of overall sales than before as customer preferences gradually move towards more feature rich and performance oriented products.

Hero MotoCorp sold nearly 55 lakh motorcycles and over 5.7 lakh scooters in the last financial year. Rural demand recovery, improved export business and appreciable premium bike sales helped quarterly profit rise by around 30 per cent during the final quarter while revenue growth approached 29 per cent prompting it to expand its reach across multiple segments.

It is expected to spend nearly Rs. 1,500 crore in FY27 covering EV production expansion, research and development activities, scooters and future technologies. Earlier, the company had already announced plans to achieve nearly 90 per cent PLI coverage for electric vehicles before FY27 and exports are expected to remain another important contributor.

The two-wheeler maker has expanded its overseas operations across multiple developing markets while also adapting products for local conditions. Honda, TVS, Bajaj and several startup EV manufacturers are also expanding aggressively with new launches and capacity additions in line with the growing market across different spectrums.
