Suzuki’s iconic off-road-oriented SUV gains new convenience and safety features and a more rugged exterior styling in Malaysia

Suzuki has launched two new variants of the Jimny in Malaysia: Allgrip Plus and Rhino Plus. The company offers both new variants in the 3-door version of the mini off-roader. The Suzuki Jimny Allgrip Plus brings a raft of additional features over the standard Jimny. It features power-folding side mirrors with a heating function and a 9-inch touchscreen for enhanced convenience.

An mmWave radar, a monocular camera, and a reverse camera have also been added. Unlike the regular Suzuki Jimny, the Suzuki Jimny Allgrip Plus features Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Prevention, Weaving Alert, Automatic High Beam, Emergency Stop Signal, and side and curtain airbags.

The new variant is thus significantly better on the safety front. Other highlights include automatic LED headlamps with washer, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 50:50-split rear seat.

Under the hood, there’s the familiar K15B 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 101 hp and 130 Nm of torque. A 4-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel drive system work together to send drive to the wheels. Imported from Japan, the Suzuki Jimny Allgrip Plus retails at MYR 158,900 (excl. insurance), which converts to roughly Rs. 37.28 lakh.

The Suzuki Jimny Rhino Plus is all about exclusive styling. It flaunts the iconic Rhino logo on the spare wheel in reference to the Suzuki SJ series, the Suzuki Heritage grille, “Real Offroader” branded red, gray, and black decals on the hood and the side doors, red mud flaps with “Jimny” lettering, and side and front bumper under garnish.

Similarly, a 4-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel drive system are responsible for channeling power to the wheels. This variant is also imported from Japan, and it’s even more expensive, costing MYR 173,900 (excl. insurance), which converts to approximately Rs. 40.80 lakh.

3 New Hyundai Creta Rivals Arriving Soon In India – Key Details

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Sierra EV

Competition in the mid-size SUV segment, dominated by the Hyundai Creta, to become more intense with three new launches in the coming months

The mid-size SUV segment in India has seen plenty of interesting launches since the arrival of the all-new Tata Sierra in November. Three more mid-size SUVs are expected to be launched in the coming months, adding to the excitement in the booming segment.

On July 9, Nissan will unveil the Tekton, its long-overdue successor to the Terrano. The Nissan Tekton will be based on the same platform and feature the same shape as the all-new Renault Duster. However, it will have a sharper and more elegant exterior, with some inspiration drawn from the Japanese brand’s global flagship SUV – the Nissan Patrol.

Nissan will likely launch the Tekton towards the end of July and offer it with the same 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engines as Renault’s Duster. Similarly, 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-wet-clutch automatic transmissions should be offered, with the latter exclusive to the 1.3-litre engine. A hybrid variant with a 1.8-litre direct-injection petrol engine and an electric motor may follow in early 2027.

Later this month, Tata Motors is expected to unveil the pure electric variant of the all-new Sierra – the Sierra.ev. The company has already revealed the Sierra.ev will feature a cleaner front-end that would better align with the zero-tailpipe-emission nature of its powertrain while also providing it a distinctive visual identity. The rest of the exterior and the interior are expected to be largely identical to the ICE donor.

The Tata Sierra.ev will likely be offered in standard-range RWD, extended-range RWD, and extended-range AWD variants. In addition to the rear-biased drivetrain layout, a multi-link rear suspension and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) bi-directional charging function will differentiate it from the ICE Sierra. The Sierra.ev will likely deliver a range of up to around 600 kilometres in the extended-range RWD variant.

In the third quarter, Honda will likely launch a facelifted version of the Elevate. The facelifted Elevate should come with changes such as redesigned bumpers, tweaked headlamps and tail lamps, and new 17-inch alloy wheels, and ventilated front seats. Honda is not expected to roll out any mechanical changes for the Elevate with the mid-cycle refresh.

Honda ADV 160 derives power from a liquid-cooled engine producing 15.8 hp and it features a ground clearance of 165 mm

Honda could finally be preparing to bring the ADV 160 to India with a report suggesting that the company is currently working on localising the premium maxi-scooter for the domestic market. While an official announcement is yet to be made, speculations indicate that a launch could take place before the end of 2026 or during the early months of 2027.

Unlike traditional scooters sold in India, the ADV 160 has been developed with an adventure-based approach. The model features a tall windscreen, upright riding position, long single-piece seat, muscular bodywork and a distinctive beak-style front section. 1,000+ PS Audi Nuvolari Breaks Cover – Fastest & Most Powerful Audi Ever

GaadiWaadi -

Audi Nuvolari

Production of Audi Nuvolari is limited to just 499 units globally and deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2027

Audi has pulled the wraps off the Nuvolari – a limited-production hybrid supercar that rewrites the company’s performance record books. Producing a staggering 1,001 PS and capable of exceeding 350 kmph, the Nuvolari becomes the fastest and most powerful road-going Audi in history. Limited to just 499 units globally, deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first half of 2027.

The Nuvolari also serves as a technology showcase bringing Formula 1-inspired engineering to a production vehicle for the first time under the four-ring brand. At the heart of the supercar sits an advanced hybrid powertrain combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and three axial-flux electric motors. The V8 alone develops 800 hp and 730 Nm while revving to an extraordinary 10,000 rpm.

Supporting it are three 110 kW electric motors fed by a 7.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Combined system output stands at 1,001 PS, enabling a 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 2.6 seconds and 0 to 200 kmph in 6.8 seconds. Two electric motors are positioned on the front axle generating up to 2,150 Nm and enabling advanced torque vectoring functions while a third motor sits between the engine and transmission.

A significant innovation is Audi’s new Quattro Predictive Ride system. The system predicts traction loss using steering, acceleration, yaw rate and traction data. Torque distribution, braking interventions and aerodynamic adjustments are made proactively to maximise stability and cornering performance. Drivers can choose between E-Hybrid, Balanced, Dynamic and Dynamic+ modes while Track Mode allows further adjustments for wet, dry and race conditions.

The Nuvolari also debuts an all-new lightweight architecture. Audi has combined its Space Frame construction with a carbon-fibre exterior for the first time in a production model. Nearly every exterior panel is crafted from carbon-fibre reinforced polymer using Formula 1-derived prepreg autoclave manufacturing processes. Lightweight forged centre-lock wheels make their production debut as well – helping to reduce unsprung mass while improving handling precision.

A Formula 1-inspired active aero package continuously adjusts downforce and drag according to driving conditions. The deployable rear wing operates in Closed, Low Downforce and High Downforce modes while a DRS system can be activated to reduce drag on straights. In maximum downforce configuration, the Nuvolari is capable of generating more than 400 kg of aerodynamic load – significantly boosting high-speed stability and cornering capability.

Audi Nuvolari Interior

The braking package is equally extreme. Audi’s new Ceramic Pro system employs ten-piston front calipers clamping 420 mm discs and four-piston rear calipers working on 410 mm rotors. A motorsport-derived brake-by-wire setup integrates hydraulic braking and regenerative deceleration allowing energy recovery while maintaining a consistent pedal feel.

Audi claims the system can absorb up to 2.8 megawatts of energy during heavy braking – in the same league as current Formula 1 machinery. It gets a minimalist cockpit layout that places all critical controls within immediate reach. Lightweight carbon-fibre seats, anodised aluminium trim elements and a race-inspired user interface are some key bits.

Audi Nuvolari 1

The supercar also becomes the first production Audi to follow the company’s new design philosophy characterised by a cleaner exterior, integrated technology and highly functional aero. Named after legendary racing driver Tazio Nuvolari, the new flagship model could influence future Audi performance vehicles while establishing a new benchmark for the brand.

Top 10 SUVs May 2026 – Fronx Heads Punch, Nexon, Scorpio & Creta

GaadiWaadi -

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The list of top 10 SUVs in May 2026 saw Tata places 2 models in top 3 as Fronx holds off Punch And Nexon

Four of India’s ten best-selling SUVs recorded growth of more than 50 per cent in May 2026 – showing just how quickly demand continues to expand across the utility vehicle space. While the Maruti Suzuki Fronx finished on top, Tata Motors managed to place both the Punch and Nexon inside the top three.

Hyundai and Kia also enjoyed a positive month with three SUVs collectively crossing 32,000 units. The Fronx emerged as the country’s best-selling SUV with 20,686 units – up 52 per cent over May last year. Right behind it sat the Tata Punch at 20,208 units – registering a 54 per cent increase. The homegrown brand’s momentum did not end there as the Nexon followed with 19,100 units and a 46 per cent improvement.

Combined, the Punch and Nexon accounted for nearly 40,000 units – giving Tata two of the three best-selling SUVs in the country during the month. Hyundai and Kia registered some of the highest growth numbers in the segment. The Venue surged 56 per cent to 11,714 units while the Seltos recorded an even bigger 74 per cent jump to 10,597 units – the fastest-growing SUV among the top ten.

The Creta remained Hyundai’s volume leader with 15,253 units. Mahindra’s performance came from two very different ends of the SUV spectrum. The Scorpio continued to be the brand’s highest-selling utility vehicle with 15,774 units and a 10 per cent increase. The Thar added another 10,787 units and continued to be the most sold lifestyle SUVs in the country.

Combined sales of the two models crossed 26,500 units during the month. A notable entrant was the recently launched Maruti Suzuki Victoris which secured a place among the top ten SUVs with 10,853 units. The Brezza was the only major volume player in the top ten to post a double-digit decline with sales dropping 14 per cent to 13,245 units.

Mahindra Thar 2025 3-Door Updated

Despite the fall, it still remained ahead of the Venue, Victoris, Thar and Seltos. The decline also meant that the Fronx established itself as Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling SUV for the month. Compact SUVs now account for the majority of segment volumes with the Fronx, Punch, Nexon, Brezza and Venue alone contributing more than 84,000 units.

As new launches continue to enter the market and competition intensifies across price points, the SUV segment stays put as the primary growth engine of India’s PV section.
