Eighth gen 2026 Lexus ES 350h arrives in Exquisite and Luxury trims with a new 2.5-litre self-charging hybrid system, redesigned cabin and expanded tech suite

Lexus India has commenced bookings for the all-new ES 350h as it has expanded the eighth generation ES family shortly after introducing the battery electric ES 500e. The locally manufactured luxury sedan is priced from Rs. 66.10 lakh (ex-showroom) and continues Lexus’ electrification roadmap by offering a self-charging hybrid alternative. Along with an all-new exterior and cabin, the executive sedan receives a newly developed hybrid powertrain, additional passenger space and a broader technology package.

In contrary to the previous generation, it will be offered globally with both hybrid and battery electric powertrains while India receives the ES 350h as the latest locally assembled Lexus model. The sedan gains Lexus’ Clean Tech x Elegance design philosophy which effectively moves away from the sharper styling of its predecessor.

The front receives slimmer L-shaped LED lighting signatures integrated into a cleaner fascia while the rear features redesigned LED lighting and a more appealing stance. The new generation is also larger in every key dimension with a longer wheelbase, increased width, taller roofline and higher ground clearance resulting in a roomier cabin for both rows.

The interior has been completely redesigned around the company’s Tazuna cockpit philosophy. Dominating the dashboard is a 14-inch high-definition touchscreen paired with a fully digital instrument cluster running Lexus’ latest multimedia interface. The cabin also introduces the world’s first Responsive Hidden Switches allowing physical controls to remain concealed within the dashboard until required.

Connected vehicle functions enable owners to remotely operate climate control, engine start, door locks, windows and the slide roof while also providing vehicle tracking and emergency assistance through the Lexus Connected application. Mechanical revisions are equally comprehensive. The ES 350h receives a newly developed 2.5-litre four-cylinder self-charging hybrid powertrain hooked with an updated eAxle incorporating the Power Control Unit into the transaxle.

Lexus has also introduced a new lithium-ion battery which is made to reduce weight while improving power delivery and fuel efficiency. The revised hybrid system has been engineered to deliver smoother acceleration, lower noise levels and improved ride quality compared to the outgoing model. Safety equipment has also expanded with the latest Lexus Safety System+.

The package comprises an enhanced Pre-Collision System, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist and a Driver Monitor on the Luxury variant. Together with multiple active safety technologies, the systems are developed to provide more natural driver assistance during everyday driving as well as longer highway journeys.

Ownership benefits continue to remain a key area as the ES 350h is backed by an 8-year/2,00,000 km warranty covering both the vehicle and hybrid battery. Consumers also receive five years of roadside assistance while Lexus is offering Assured Buy Back programmes and Lexus Luxury Care service packages extending up to 8 years/1,60,000 km. The ES 350h will be offered in Exquisite and Luxury trims with a choice of White Nova, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome, Graphite Black, SOU and Sonic Copper exterior finishes.

India-Bound Toyota Land Cruiser FJ (Mini Fortuner) – What To Expect

GaadiWaadi -

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ (3)

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is expected to go on sale within the next two years and it will be based on the IMV ladder-frame architecture

Toyota is expected to consolidate its SUV portfolio in India over the next couple of years with several new launches and the Land Cruiser FJ is believed to be among the products under consideration. Positioned below the Fortuner, the compact off-roader was first showcased at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 and takes strong visual inspiration from the iconic FJ40 Land Cruiser while using a more compact footprint.

Measuring around 4.5 metres in length with a wheelbase of approximately 2,580 mm, the Land Cruiser FJ is considerably smaller than the Fortuner. The reduced dimensions should make it easier to manoeuvre in urban conditions while also improving agility on narrow off-road trails. Despite its smaller size, the SUV is expected to retain the traditional Land Cruiser formula with a body-on-frame construction.

The Land Cruiser FJ is based on a more affordable take on Toyota’s IMV ladder-frame architecture which also underpins models such as the Fortuner and Hilux. A part-time four-wheel-drive system could be offered as in the global markets. The ladder-frame chassis is also expected to deliver the durability associated with the Land Cruiser badge.

Toyota Land cruiser FJ (6)

The design follows a distinctly retro theme with upright body panels, squared proportions and circular LED headlamps paying tribute to the classic FJ40. Chunky wheel arch cladding, high ground clearance, short overhangs and a flat roofline further enable a purposeful appearance. The overall styling keeps the traditional Land Cruiser familiarity intact while introducing new detailing.

Power is expected to come from a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine developing around 163 PS and 246 Nm of torque. The engine will likely be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Toyota could also evaluate additional powertrain choices for different regions and a diesel engine would make considerable sense for the domestic market considering the popularity of diesel-powered ladder-frame SUVs in the segment.

Toyota Land Cruiser FJ

On the inside, the Land Cruiser FJ will pack modern equipment. High-spec variants could feature a 12.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, connected car technology and an ADAS suite. The cabin is expected to be brimmed with practicality and durability without compromising on necessary features.

Toyota has not officially confirmed the Land Cruiser FJ for India. However, the company’s continued emphasis on adventure-focused products including the Fortuner, Hilux and Land Cruiser range shows that an Indian launch remains a possibility.

India’s EV Sales Could Hit 30.4 Million Units In The Near Future

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Sierra EV (16)

A new report suggests India’s electric vehicle market could reach 30.4 million annual unit sales by 2032 if demand, charging infrastructure and policy support continue to improve

India’s electric vehicle journey has only just begun, but the next six years could completely transform the market. According to a new industry report, annual EV sales in the country could touch 30.4 million units by 2032 under a high-growth scenario. That would represent a twelve-fold jump from current levels and underline just how quickly the segment is expected to evolve.

The projection is based on multiple factors coming together rather than one single catalyst. Growing charging infrastructure, a wider choice of products and falling battery costs are expected to encourage more buyers to switch to electric vehicles. Government policies and localisation of key components are also likely to play a major role in keeping prices in check over the next few years.

The biggest contributor to this number are going to be two-wheelers. Electric scooters have already become a common sight in several Indian cities and there are new models coming almost every month. Last mile delivery vehicles, electric three-wheelers, buses and trucks are gradually showing acceptance. These have started to become a common sight.

Mahindra XEV 9S (17)

That said, there are still a few hurdles to overcome. Public charging infrastructure remains inconsistent outside major cities and many buyers continue to have concerns around charging time, battery life and resale value. Not only do OEMs need to increase the charging network, they need to increase the number of chargers at each location as well. The growing number of EVs is going to increase wait times at public stations. The pace at which these issues are addressed will ultimately determine whether India can achieve the report’s most optimistic forecast.

The encouraging part is that the industry no longer revolves around a handful of manufacturers. Established carmakers are expanding their EV portfolios while newer brands continue to bring fresh products to the market. The segment is getting competitive. At the same time, battery manufacturing, charging networks and component localisation are attracting significant investments, creating an ecosystem that barely existed a few years ago.

Whether the 30.4 million-unit mark is eventually achieved remains to be seen, but the direction is quite clear. Electric vehicles are steadily moving from being a niche choice to a mainstream one. If infrastructure keeps pace with new product launches, the next decade could prove to be the biggest transformation the Indian automotive industry has witnessed in recent years.

More Powerful Hero Karizma XMR 250 Caught Undisguised, Launch Soon?

GaadiWaadi -

karizma XMR 250

Hero Karizma XMR 250 has surfaced online without camouflage hinting at an imminent market debut

The undisguised test motorcycle confirms that Hero has retained the aggressive silhouette of the Karizma XMR while introducing subtle changes to distinguish the quarter-litre version. The motorcycle seen in the images wears a gloss black paint scheme with contrasting red graphics across the fairing, fuel tank extensions and tail section.

The front end remains instantly recognisable with its aerodynamic full fairing, tall transparent windscreen and projector LED headlamp positioned beneath the signature boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The indicators continue to be mounted on the fairing and are LED units. From the side, the motorcycle carries over the sculpted fairing panels and split seats.

The images also reveal golden upside-down front forks, a red rear monoshock, clip-on handlebars mounted above the top yoke and aluminium rider footpegs. The exposed steel trellis frame is visible beneath the fairing while the compact engine casing shows Hero’s newer liquid-cooled quarter-litre powertrain. The rear section gets sporty graphics carrying XMR 250 branding on the side panels.

A sleek LED tail lamp sits neatly below the razor-sharp styled tail section and is accompanied by integrated LED turn indicators. The motorcycle also gets a split grab rail and a side-mounted saree guard as well. The spy images further show a wide rear tyre, rear disc brake and a box-section swingarm. The short side-slung exhaust has a brushed metallic finish.

The alloy wheel design also appears unchanged from the smaller Karizma XMR. The riding posture visible in the images indicates that Hero has retained the sport-touring ergonomics of the Karizma. The rider sits slightly leaned forward without adopting an extreme supersport stance. It will be part of the multiple new launches planned by the brand this FY which should include the flagship Xpulse 420 adv.

Renault India has introduced the Duster Adventure Edition in the domestic market with prices starting at Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Unveiled on Bastille Day, the special edition celebrates the legacy of the Duster nameplate which established itself as one of India’s pioneering SUVs in the midsize space more than a decade ago.

It has also earned recognition for its ride quality, handling characteristics and touring capability. The launch ceremony was attended by H.E. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India, and StĂ©phane Deblaise, CEO, Renault Group India as the event honoured the French roots of the brand and the significance of the Duster in Renault’s Indian journey.

The Adventure Edition is based on the latest generation Duster which was launched only a few months ago and will be available with Turbo TCe 100 MT, Turbo TCe 160 MT and Turbo TCe 160 DCT powertrain options. Renault says the Adventure Edition draws inspiration from one of the themes most closely associated with the Duster over the years.

Toyota Innova Hycross Facelift Spotted Testing For The First Time

GaadiWaadi -

Toyota-Innova-Hycross-Facelift-Spied.jpg

Updated Toyota Innova Hycross seen on Indian roads ahead of launch with refreshed styling, revised lighting and expected feature additions

Toyota has commenced road testing of the Innova Hycross facelift in India for the first time. The heavily camouflaged prototype reveals that Toyota is preparing a comprehensive mid-life update for the popular people mover. While the body is concealed beneath thick camouflage, several design details and proportions remain visible.

The prototype seen in these spy images carries extensive camouflage over the front, sides and rear confirming that multiple styling revisions are in store. The front fascia is expected to receive a redesigned grille, updated bumper, sleeker LED headlamps and a new daytime running light signature. The bonnet also appears to feature subtle revisions while the front overhang and overall dimensions remain unchanged.

From the side, the facelift continues with the familiar window line and body profile but a closer look shows what appears to be the same alloy wheel design. Flush-fitting body panels, conventional door handles and roof rails continue unchanged while the ORVMs remain the same as well. The rear section is also completely covered but the outline of the tailgate and spoiler can still be identified.

The test vehicle appears to feature revised LED tail lamps with a different internal lighting signature. Toyota is also expected to introduce a redesigned rear bumper and updated trim elements to distinguish the facelift from the outgoing model. The current Innova Hycross is already among the most feature-rich MPVs in India and the facelift is expected to build on that.

Top-end variants could receive an updated infotainment interface, refreshed instrument cluster, revised upholstery and additional soft-touch materials. The Japanese brand may also introduce new connected car functions while retaining features such as the panoramic sunroof, powered Ottoman captain seats, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, wireless charger and premium JBL audio system.

The facelift will continue with six airbags, ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera and the Toyota Safety Sense Level 2 ADAS package featuring adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, lane trace assist, automatic high beam and a pre-collision system.

Mechanically, no major changes are likely. The updated model is expected to retain the existing 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 173 hp and 209 Nm coupled with a CVT automatic transmission. Toyota will also stay put with the 2.0-litre strong hybrid powertrain which develops a combined 184 hp through an e-CVT gearbox while delivering a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.24 kmpl.
