Hyundai To Bring In 26 New Cars By 2030 – SUVs, EVs & Hybrids Coming

Hyundai plans 26 new products for India by 2030 as it looks to regain lost ground; new SUVs, EVs and hybrids are in the pipeline

Hyundai is bracing for a major expansion of its India range after dropping to fourth position in the domestic passenger vehicle market. The company plans to introduce 26 new products by 2030 covering all-new SUVs, electric vehicles, hybrid models, facelifts and other updates. A new locally developed electric SUV has already been confirmed for this FY and it will be heavily localised.

Another all-new IC-engined SUV is also part of the roadmap as the global Bayon in its next generation avatar is expected to hit showrooms sometime next year. The Korean auto major also plans to launch five new EVs by the end of this decade as it will look to step into volume-based and premium segments. It is also preparing a huge augmentation of its hybrid portfolio.

The company plans to introduce eight hybrid models by 2030 supported by its SAHI hybrid technology. The next-gen Creta, which has already been caught testing multiple times, will arrive with substantial upgrades inside and out while it will likely lead the way in terms of hybrid tech as the existing 1.5L NA petrol mill could work alongside an electric motor and a battery pack to form a hybrid system.

In addition, a three-row SUV sitting above the Alcazar with a hybrid heart will arrive in the coming years codenamed Ni1i. The scale of the upcoming launches comes after a difficult FY26 in the domestic market. Hyundai sold 5,84,906 units in India during the financial year – registering a decline of around 2.3 per cent year-on-year.

Its passenger vehicle market share fell from 17.36 per cent in FY21 to 12.29 per cent in FY26 resulting in the company losing its No.2 position behind Maruti Suzuki. Mahindra and Tata Motors have gained ground during the same period through a rapid expansion of their SUV portfolios. Mahindra recorded around 6.60 lakh sales in FY26 with a growth of around 20 per cent while Tata crossed 6.42 lakh units – up by around 15 per cent.

Hyundai’s dependence on the Creta has also become more evident as rivals have added successful SUVs across several segments. The Creta accounts for almost one-third of Hyundai’s domestic sales. Exports provided some support during FY26 as Hyundai shipped 1,90,125 units – up 16.4 per cent year-on-year. The range expansion will be backed by an investment of around Rs. 45,000 crore by FY30.

A large portion of this investment will go towards new products, research and development, electrification, manufacturing capacity and localisation. Hyundai is also increasing production capacity in India. Its Pune plant, formerly known as Talegaon, is expected to begin operations at an annual capacity of 1.7 lakh units with the company targeting an eventual capacity of 2.5 lakh units.

Honda Independence Day Offers Bring Attractive Benefits On Elevate, City And Amaze, Making Them More Appealing To Buyers

Honda Cars India has rolled out its Great Honda Fest campaign for Independence Day, and if you have been waiting to buy a Honda, this could be a good time to walk into a showroom. The company is offering benefits across the Elevate, City and Amaze, with the biggest deal reserved for the Elevate. Here’s a closer look at what Honda is offering.

Honda Elevate

The Honda Elevate gets the biggest offer under the Great Honda Fest campaign, with benefits of up to Rs 2.45 lakh. That’s a sizeable amount for an SUV in this segment and could make the Elevate a more attractive proposition, particularly for buyers who were already considering the SUV. Honda is also offering complimentary accessories with the Elevate ZX, including a 360-degree surround-view camera and a smart dashcam covering the front and rear.

Honda City

The Honda City gets benefits of up to Rs 95,000 under the Independence Day campaign. The current City is already fairly well-equipped, and Honda is highlighting features such as active ventilated front seats and a 360-degree surround-view camera in its current campaign.

The company is also advertising a lowest EMI starting from Rs 999 per lakh, making the City worth considering for buyers looking at the sedan segment. For someone who still wants a proper three-box family car instead of jumping onto the SUV bandwagon, the City remains one of the more interesting options around.

The new-generation Honda Amaze gets benefits of up to Rs 66,000. The Amaze is currently priced from Rs 7.65 lakh, and the combination of the introductory price point and the festive-season benefits could make it an interesting option for buyers shopping for a compact family sedan.

The new Amaze also has a strong safety card to play, having scored a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult occupant protection.

Bonus: Honda Amaze 2nd Gen

Honda is also continuing to sell the second-generation Amaze, and this model gets benefits of up to Rs 58,000. The older Amaze starts from Rs 6.97 lakh, which puts it below the new-generation car by a decent margin. For buyers who aren’t particularly concerned about having the latest design or equipment, the outgoing model could make more sense, especially with the additional benefits on offer.

It is also worth remembering that the two Amaze generations are positioned differently. The older car is essentially Honda’s more affordable sedan option, while the new Amaze brings a newer design and more modern equipment.

One thing to keep in mind, these are maximum advertised benefits, so the actual amount available to an individual buyer can vary depending on the applicable offer and dealership terms.

Mahindra To Launch A New SUV On August 14, What Could It Be?

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra Vision S

Mahindra is planning to bring in a new SUV on August 14, 2026 for India and here we have listed the possible launches

Mahindra has an aggressive product pipeline lined up over the next two years covering IC-engined SUVs and electric models. Several upcoming vehicles have already been showcased as concepts while others have been repeatedly spotted undergoing road tests across India. The company is also preparing comprehensive updates for some of its existing SUVs to keep them afresh in an increasingly competitive market.

Ahead of this product offensive, Mahindra has officially confirmed the launch of a new SUV on August 14, 2026. While the company has not revealed its identity, a few models stand out as the possible contenders and here we have listed them.

1. Updated 3-Door Thar

The three-door Thar is set to receive a facelift as camouflaged prototypes have been spotted testing. Influenced by the Thar Roxx, the front end is expected to receive a redesigned grille, new bumper styling and a new lighting signature. On the inside, Mahindra may introduce several upgrades carried over from the five-door Thar Roxx such as a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a more premium cabin and additional features.

2. Mahindra Vision S

Mahindra Vision S (13)

Mahindra is also preparing an all-new compact SUV based on the Vision S concept. It will occupy the space between the XUV 3XO and the Scorpio N. It will also become another monocoque SUV and the new NU_IQ platform will underpin the model while the design is expected to retain the upright proportions previewed by the Vision S concept. Under the bonnet, Mahindra may offer the familiar turbo petrol and diesel engine options already seen in the XUV 3XO.

3. Mahindra BE7

Mahindra BE07

The Mahindra BE7 will sit above the BE 6 in the company’s EV range. The upcoming SUV is expected to ride on the dedicated INGLO skateboard architecture and may receive a larger battery pack than its sibling – resulting in a longer claimed driving range. Mahindra is also expected to offer multiple motor configurations and the cabin could feature three 12.3-inch displays stretching across the dashboard, Level 2 ADAS, bi-directional charging tech, etc. It could be showcased in its near production form next week ahead of launch in 2027.

4. Updated Mahindra BE6

Mahindra is also working on a mid-cycle update for the BE6. While the exterior changes are expected to be minimal, the cabin is set to receive a noticeable overhaul. A leaked image has already revealed a redesigned dashboard while the two-spoke steering wheel and dual-screen arrangement appear to have been retained.

Reports also indicate that Mahindra is evaluating a triple-screen setup similar to the one offered on the XEV 9e and XEV 9S but it remains unclear whether this feature will be reserved for higher variants. The interior is also expected to receive a new upholstery combination – replacing the current black and grey theme with a more premium black and tan finish.

Maruti Suzuki Hints At Wider EV Lineup, Entry-Level SUV Under Evaluation

Maruti Wagon R Flex Fuel

Maruti Suzuki has indicated that it is planning a broader expansion of both its electric vehicle and SUV portfolios as it looks to strengthen its position in India’s evolving passenger vehicle market. While the upcoming eVitara will mark the company’s entry into the mainstream electric SUV space, Maruti says its long-term EV strategy will extend across multiple vehicle segments.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer – Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said the company’s electric vehicle plans are not limited to a single product. According to him, Maruti intends to introduce battery electric vehicles across almost every passenger vehicle segment, with offerings positioned both above and below the eVitara.

Although Banerjee did not comment on specific future products, his remarks suggest that Maruti is working towards building a comprehensive EV portfolio covering different price points and customer requirements. Industry reports indicate that the carmaker is also developing a three-row electric MPV, internally codenamed YMC, while more affordable electric models are also said to be under consideration.

The company’s expanding EV strategy comes at a time when demand for electric passenger vehicles continues to rise in India. According to the latest data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), electric passenger vehicle retail sales reached 31,823 units in June, more than doubling compared to the same month last year. EV penetration also increased to 7.7 percent during the month. Maruti recorded 1,919 retail sales, placing it behind Tata Motors, Mahindra and JSW MG Motor India in the segment.

Apart from electric vehicles, Maruti Suzuki is also evaluating opportunities to strengthen its SUV portfolio. Responding to a question regarding the absence of a direct rival to the Tata Punch after the Ignis was discontinued, Banerjee acknowledged that the company currently does not have a product in that space and hinted that it could address the gap in the future.

Reports suggest Maruti is studying the feasibility of launching a new compact SUV positioned below the Brezza. The model is expected to adopt a boxy, upright design inspired by Suzuki’s Xbee sold in Japan and could target buyers looking for an affordable urban SUV.

The move would allow Maruti to compete more directly in one of India’s fastest-growing SUV segments. The Tata Punch has emerged as a strong performer in the category, recording over 21,000 wholesale units in June and leading SUV sales during the first quarter of FY27.

Maruti Suzuki also stated that it currently holds a 54 percent share of India’s “clean and green” vehicle market, which includes CNG, hybrid and electric vehicles. As the company expands its electric and SUV offerings, it aims to strengthen its presence across multiple segments in the coming years.

Tata recorded 62,611 unit sales in July 2026 as Punch, Nexon and Sierra helped post a 58 per cent year-on-year increase in India

Tata Motors recorded another healthy month in the PV space in July 2026 after dispatching a total of 62,611 units and registering a massive 58 per cent increase over the 39,521 units reported during the corresponding month last year. E3-Trion-2.jpg

E3 Electric.AI has entered electric scooter market with the all-new E3 Trion boasting predictive intelligence, modular battery options, connected tech

Bengaluru-based E3 Electric.AI has officially entered electric two-wheeler market after unveiling the all-new E3 Trion. Endorsed as India’s first AI-powered intelligent electric scooter, the new model gets predictive software, connected technology and a modular platform developed to improve both the riding and ownership. Pre-bookings have commenced in Bengaluru through the company’s official website while expansion into additional markets will follow.

The E3 Trion has been introduced in three variants. The entry-level C1 is priced at Rs. 99,999 while the C1x carries a sticker price of Rs. 1.10 lakh and the flagship C2 is available at Rs. 1.20 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The company is also offering an extended warranty of up to eight years or one lakh kilometres.

As opposed to conventional electric scooters, the E3 Trion has been developed around a new Tri axis frame modular architecture. The platform has been created to accommodate portable and fixed battery configurations while supporting future product expansion across multiple body styles and use cases. The C1 features a removable 2.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery – enabling riders to charge it separately at home, offices or public charging stations.

E3-Trion-2.jpg

The C1x and C2 switch to a larger fixed 3 kWh LFP battery developed to prioritise longer range and overall capability. The C1x delivers an IDC-certified driving range of 165 km while the C2 provides Sport mode alongside Eco and Power modes. The flagship version accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 82 kmph. Power is supplied by a high-efficiency PMSM hub motor paired with the company’s Rotoring detachable rim system.

It has been developed to simplify servicing while lowering maintenance costs. Artificial intelligence is the centrepiece of the E3 Trion. The scooter operates through the proprietary E3 CommandCenter platform powered by the company’s IoT Core and cloud-based intelligence system. It continuously monitors vehicle health, predicts faults before they develop into breakdowns and delivers software improvements throughout the ownership period.

E3-Trion-2.jpg

More than 100 connected functions have been integrated into the package. AI HealthScan completes a vehicle diagnostic in around 10 seconds while predictive service reports identify potential issues before they require workshop attention. Smart Trip Planner incorporates charging station locations into navigation and the connected suite also supports live vehicle information, remote battery monitoring, remote vehicle controls, dashcam functionality, geo-fencing and SOS assistance.

The technology is displayed through the new TripSense intelligent cockpit coupling a five-inch display with smartphone integration to keep navigation, ride information and connected services within easy reach of the rider. The design draws inspiration from the Mars Rover and 14-inch wheels have been fitted at both ends.

E3-Trion-2.jpg

The electrical system carries an IP67 weather protection rating alongside intelligent safeguards against voltage fluctuations. Lighting is handled by the dual projector LED headlamps and LED tail lamps. The seating package has been developed around anthropometric studies to improve seating posture, handlebar reach and visibility.

Storage capacity reaches 52 litres after combining the under-seat compartment, floorboard and glove box providing ample room for daily essentials. Customers can choose from six exterior colours comprising Solar Red, Misty Green, Graphite Grey, Nova Blue, Teal Blue and Luna White. Optional accessories include a backrest, helmet, phone holder and ladies’ footrest.
