TVS adds new variants, electronics, connectivity features and colour options across the Apache RTR, Apache 310 and Ronin line-ups

TVS Motor Company has announced a sizeable festive-season update for its premium motorcycle portfolio covering the Apache RTR 160, RTR 160 4V, RTR 200 4V, RR 310, RTR 310 and Ronin. The revisions range from traction control and adjustable USD suspension to TFT connectivity, keyless operation and new variants. The updated motorcycles are available through TVS dealerships across India from September 17, 2026.

1. Apache RTR 160 Gets Traction Control

The Apache RTR 160 now gets a new dual-channel ABS variant with a Traction Control System. TVS has also added hazard lamps and LED TSLs. Colour choices comprise Matte Black and Pearl White with red alloy wheels, Arctic Teal and Granite Grey. The updated version costs Rs. 1,27,990 (ex-showroom Delhi).

2. Apache RTR 160 4V Gains TFT With Google Maps

The Apache RTR 160 4V receives a TFT display with Google Map Mirroring, along with Panic Brake Alert and a Type-C charging port. The updated model starts at Rs. 1,41,440 (ex-showroom Delhi). Available colours include Arctic Teal with Champagne Gold alloy wheels, Matte Black, Racing Red and Marine Blue.

3. Apache RTR 200 4V Gets Adjustable USD Forks

The biggest hardware addition for the Apache RTR 200 4V is front adjustable upside-down suspension. TVS has also added a TFT display with Google Map Mirroring, Panic Brake Alert and a Type-C charger. Prices start at Rs. 1,49,990 (ex-showroom) with Sepang Blue, Armoury Green, Racing Red and Matte Black colour choices.

4. Apache RR 310 Gets Black Diamond Edition

TVS has introduced a Black Diamond Edition for the Apache RR 310. The top-spec version with a quickshifter receives a new all-black livery and costs Rs. 2,87,790 (ex-showroom Delhi). The special treatment gives the fully faired 310 a darker visual identity for the festive season.

5. Apache RTR 310 Also Gets Black Diamond Treatment

The RTR 310 receives its own Black Diamond Edition with a new livery. The top variant with a quickshifter is priced at Rs. 2,48,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). The special edition extends the black-themed treatment to TVS’ flagship naked motorcycle.

6. Keyless Ride Added To Apache RR 310

Keyless Ride technology now reaches the Apache RR 310. The feature was already available on the RTR 310, so both motorcycles in the Apache 310 family now offer keyless operation. Existing 310-series electronics include Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control, cruise control, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, Launch Control and Drag Torque Control.

7. New Ronin Base+ Variant Introduced

The Ronin line-up gains a new Base+ variant priced at Rs. 1,42,490 (ex-showroom Delhi). It adds dual-channel ABS and a new livery over the lower specification. TVS offers the Base+ in Sunlit Yellow and Desert Mirage shades.

8. Ronin Mid Gets Connected Cluster

The upgraded Ronin Mid costs Rs. 1,51,540 and adds a connected instrument cluster plus a Type-C charger. Glacier Silver and Charcoal Ember are the two colour choices for this version.

9. Ronin Top Adds Traction Control

The Ronin Top receives Traction Control System, a Type-C charging port and a premium seat. Prices start at Rs. 1,63,640 (ex-showroom Delhi) with Nimbus Grey and Midnight Blue offered as colour choices. The addition of traction control gives the top-spec Ronin another electronic rider aid over the Mid and Base+ versions.

10. Updated Models Reach Dealers Immediately

TVS has made the revised Apache and Ronin line-ups available across its Indian dealership network from September 17. The festive update comes as the Apache family crosses seven million riders across 90 countries and the Ronin community exceeds 2,00,000 customers globally. The Apache Owners Group has also crossed 5,00,000 registered members.

Top 10 Most Sold MUVs August 2026 – Ertiga, Innova, Clavis, Rumion, Gravite

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga led the MUV space with 18,516 units as the top 10 models recorded 42,654 units with volumes up 7 per cent on a YoY basis

The MPV space recorded combined sales of 42,654 units in August 2026 as compared with 39,873 units in the same month last year with an increase of 7 per cent. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga retained first place with 18,516 units ahead of the Toyota Innova Hycross and Crysta at 8,963 units. Kia’s Carens and Clavis ranked third with 6,093 units.

The first three positions alone generated 33,572 units – equivalent to 78.7 per cent of the segment. The Ertiga contributed more than half of that volume on its own and recorded a marginal 0.4 per cent YoY increase. The Innova Hycross and Crysta combination slipped 3.7 per cent and Carens along with the Carens Clavis recorded a 10.7 per cent decline.

Nissan placed the Gravite at 1,440 units but it was only good enough for seventh place and a 3.4 per cent share. It finished only 96 units behind its sibling, the Renault Triber, which recorded 1,536 units. The Triber fell 17.9 per cent from 1,870 units in August 2025 creating one of the larger declines among the volume models in the table.

Toyota posted contrasting results across its three entries. The Innova Hycross and Crysta’s sales fell to 8,963 units but the Rumion climbed from just 68 units last year to 2,396 units in August 2026. The numbers equate to YoY growth of 3,423.5 per cent and placed the Rumion fifth. The Vellfire sat much lower at 79 units – down 24 per cent from 104 units.

Maruti Suzuki accumulated 22,069 units from the Ertiga, XL6 and Invicto giving it 51.7 per cent share of the MUV market. The XL6, the more premium take on Ertiga, added 3,293 units and rose 10.8 per cent YoY and the Invicto recorded 260 units – up 9.7 per cent. The Ertiga still supplied nearly 84 per cent of Maruti Suzuki’s MUV volume across these three models.

Kia registered 6,171 units from the Carens, Clavis and Carnival. The Carens and Clavis supplied almost the entire figure at 6,093 units and the Carnival added 78 units after sales rose 56 per cent from 50 units last year. Toyota’s combined tally stood at 11,438 units with a 26.8 per cent share compared with Kia’s 14.5 per cent.

Its sales dropped steeply outside the first seven positions with the Invicto, Vellfire and Carnival recording a combined 417 units. The top five models, by contrast, generated 39,261 units and accounted for roughly 92 per cent of the entire top 10 tally.

Volkswagen ID.3 GTI Debuts As The Most Powerful GTI Ever

Volkswagen’s first electric GTI gets rear-wheel drive, 545 Nm, a 79 kWh battery, adaptive DCC sports suspension and launch control

Volkswagen has lifted the cloaks off the ID.3 GTI as the first fully electric production model to wear the GTI badge. Its rear-mounted motor develops 322 hp and 545 Nm – making it the most powerful series-production GTI in the nameplate’s 50-year history. The electric hot hatch reaches 100 kmph from rest in 5.6 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 200 kmph. Pre-sales will open in Europe at the beginning of 2027.

Traditional GTI references feature prominently inside the cabin. The sports seats feature a new interpretation of the tartan pattern associated with the original 1976 Golf GTI complemented by red stitching and a red strip across the dashboard. The multifunction sports steering wheel features a red 12 o’clock marker and an illuminated GTI button at six o’clock. A larger Digital Cockpit sits beside a 12.9-inch infotainment display and physical controls below the screen handle key climate functions.

A 79 kWh lithium-ion battery supplies the rear motor and supports a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 601 km. DC charging peaks at 183 kW with a 10 to 80 per cent recharge taking around 29 minutes under suitable conditions. Volkswagen has also added Vehicle-to-Load capability through an optional PowerSocket adapter as it enables the traction battery to supply electricity to external devices such as e-bikes.

Chassis bits separate the GTI further from regular ID.3 derivatives. Adaptive DCC sports suspension, direct progressive steering and Launch Control are standard. Five drive profiles are available as well: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Individual and GTI. Selecting the dedicated GTI setting sharpens motor response, steering and suspension calibration and it turns the ambient lighting red and switches the Digital Cockpit to GTI-specific graphics. A synthesised combustion-engine soundtrack also accompanies the mode.

The exterior carries several visual links to earlier GTIs. A red horizontal strip runs across the nose above the illuminated light bar and VW badge, recalling the grille treatment of the first Golf GTI. LED matrix headlamps, vertical bumper lighting, a gloss-black honeycomb lower intake and red front detailing distinguish the flagship version. In addition, new 20-inch Wörthersee alloy wheels pay tribute to the long-running Austrian GTI gathering.

Volkswagen has also revised the ID.3’s colour treatment around the roof and tailgate. The GTI adopts body-coloured treatment across the roof, spoiler and rear section instead of the contrasting black areas seen on the previous ID.3 GTX. Five exterior colours are presented: Tornado Red, Moonstone Grey, Scale Silver metallic, Grenadilla Black metallic and Glacier White metallic. Tornado Red returns as the shade with the closest historical association to earlier GTI generations.

Optional equipment comprises a panoramic glass roof, massage and memory functions for the front sports seats, a 480-watt Harman Kardon audio system and an augmented-reality head-up display. Park Assist Pro adds a memory function and the latest Travel Assist can detect red traffic lights and automatically stop the car.

Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 Gets New Parachute White Colour In India

The warm white finish with black detailing and blue accents joins Flea Green and Storm Black on Royal Enfield’s first Flying Flea electric motorcycle

Flying Flea has introduced Parachute White as the third colour option for the C6, with the new shade also confirmed for India. The finish combines warm white bodywork with contrasting black sections and signature blue accents, giving the electric motorcycle a noticeably different visual treatment compared with Flea Green and Storm Black. The existing C6 costs Rs. 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru), though separate pricing for Parachute White has not been announced.

The C6 draws several visual references from Royal Enfield’s original lightweight Flying Flea motorcycle from the 1940s. Its exposed forged-aluminium exoskeleton, finned magnesium battery enclosure, circular display and distinctive girder front suspension establish much of its character. The frame has a weld-free construction, and the compact rear section keeps bodywork to a minimum. The C6 design has also received a Red Dot Design Award.

At 124 kg, the C6 has a relatively low kerb weight for a full-size electric motorcycle. It measures 2,089 mm in length, 831 mm in width and 1,122 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,366 mm. Seat height stands at 823 mm and minimum ground clearance measures 207 mm. Both ends ride on 19-inch cast alloy wheels fitted with 90/90-section tubeless CEAT tyres.

A 3.5-inch circular colour TFT touchscreen sits at the centre of the cockpit and runs Flying Flea’s Fleaware OS. The connected package includes phone-as-key functionality, navigation, app connectivity, cruise control, an electronic handlebar lock, remote tip-over alerts and location sharing. Five preset ride modes are available along with rider customisation, bi-directional Crawl Mode and Auto-Hold. The storage compartment also houses 27W USB-C charging and 15W Qi-compatible wireless charging.

Power comes from a permanent-magnet synchronous motor rated at 15.4 kW peak output and 60 Nm. A two-stage belt system sends power to the rear wheel, and the motorcycle has a claimed top speed of 115 kmph. The 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery contains 224 laser-welded NCA cells inside a magnesium casing, with pack voltage rated at 101.9 ± 0.5V. Claimed IDC range stands at 154 km.

The front end features a girder-linkage hydraulic twin suspension setup with 100 mm of travel, backed by a direct-acting rear monoshock with an internal floating piston and 110 mm travel. Braking hardware consists of a 260 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. Electronic assistance includes dual-channel ABS with three sensitivity settings, switchable rear ABS and lean-angle-sensitive ABS, along with lean-sensitive traction control.

Charging hardware is built into the motorcycle, so owners can connect the C6 directly to a regular 16A socket without carrying a separate charging brick. Flying Flea quotes around 65 minutes for a 20 to 80 per cent charge and approximately two hours 16 minutes for 0 to 100 per cent. Parachute White now expands the C6 palette to three shades, with the mechanical package unchanged from Flea Green and Storm Black.

Hyundai Bayon Sketches Revealed Ahead Of Full Unveil

Hyundai is gearing up to unveil their new offering for India, the Bayon, in the coming days. The Hyundai Bayon will be positioned between the Venue and Creta. It is going to follow a new design langugae inside out and is expected to come with a lot of modern and tech-laden touches.

The Korean automaker has revealed the first set of teaser images of the upcoming Bayon to showcase some of its design elements. The Bayon is already on sale in global markets and we will get the same model but there are likely to be a few India-specific changes. While Hyundai hasn’t announced the specs yet, we can expect the vehicle to get 1.0-litre turbo petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options with manual and automatic gearboxes.

The Hyundai Bayon will be launched towards the end of October 2026.

Hyundai Bayon Design Sketches Revealed Ahead Of India Launch

The upcoming SUV previews Hyundai’s Art of Steel design language with H-Edge lighting, pronounced fenders and a premium cabin

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has released the first design sketches of the upcoming Bayon shortly after confirming the name for its new SUV. The preview provides the first official look at the vehicle’s exterior and cabin ahead of further disclosures. Developed as a global product, the Bayon uses Hyundai’s evolving Art of Steel design language and combines an upright SUV stance with sharp body lines and distinctive lighting elements.

The front sketch reveals one of the Bayon’s defining design elements in the form of its H-Edge lighting signature. The lighting sits beneath a sculpted bonnet with pronounced fenders adding visual width to the nose. Hyundai has also incorporated substantial lower-body elements and sharply defined surfaces across the front fascia. The combination gives the Bayon a noticeably muscular SUV profile compared with a conventional crossover.

A separate interior sketch previews a tech heavy dashboard with a driver-oriented layout. Hyundai has not disclosed individual screen sizes or the final equipment list yet but the illustration points to a highly digital cockpit with connected functions forming an integral part of the cabin. The company describes the Bayon as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle and says intuitive interaction will become one of the central themes inside.

The Bayon also introduces a more prominent interpretation of Hyundai’s Art of Steel philosophy. The design approach relies on precisely shaped metal surfaces, architectural proportions and defined character lines to create a muscular exterior. Hyundai Design Center head Simon Loasby said the team wanted the Bayon to deliver a high-tech cabin within a tough exterior, with the bonnet, fenders and H-Edge lighting forming some of its principal visual signatures.

Hyundai has designed the Bayon around customers who spend much of their time in city environments but still want the visual character associated with an SUV. Its tall stance and prominent fender volumes and substantial lower sections address that brief and the sketches point to a youthful exterior treatment.

The final production model could tone down some concept-sketch exaggeration but Hyundai has confirmed that these elements preview the basic character of the road-going SUV. The company recently announced the Bayon name and said it takes inspiration from Bayonne in the French Basque Country. Hyundai has positioned the model around its “Intelligence ON” theme with technology, connectivity and design central to its initial communication.

Top 15 Most Sold 7-Seaters Aug 2026 – Ertiga, Scorpio, Innova, Carens, Safari

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga led with 18,516 units as Mahindra placed four models inside the top seven and the overall segment grew 27.7 per cent YoY

The seven-seater PV space recorded 86,703 units in August 2026 – up 27.7 per cent from 67,875 units in the same month last year. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga stayed at the top with 18,516 units and a 21.4 per cent segment share. The Mahindra Scorpio ranked second at 15,576 units – up 58.3 per cent from 9,840 units in August 2025.

The Mahindra XUV7XO range garnered 8,541 units and took fourth position with volumes up 72.3 per cent YoY. The Bolero added another 8,159 units in fifth and the XEV 9S finished seventh with 4,508 units. Along with the Scorpio, Mahindra’s four entries inside the top seven contributed 36,784 units or about 42.4 per cent of the entire segment.

The Toyota Innova and Hycross combination secured third position with 8,963 units – down 3.7 per cent from 9,304 units a year earlier. Its sibling, the Fortuner registered 3,504 units as it endured a 39.7 per cent increase and ranked eighth. The Rumion reached 2,396 units against only 68 units in August 2025 which produced the largest percentage increase among models with a comparable year-ago figure.

The Kia Carens and Clavis combined for 6,093 units in sixth place, -down 10.7 per cent YoY. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 recorded 3,293 units and grew 10.8 per cent giving the largest car producer in the country a second model inside the top 10. The Tata Safari posted 1,953 units – up 31.2 per cent from 1,489 units during the corresponding month last year.

The Renault Triber slipped 17.9 per cent to 1,536 units and the Hyundai Alcazar fell 27.9 per cent to 856 units. The Nissan Gravite entered the chart with 1,440 units and the MG Majestor registered 602 units. Three recently updated/new nameplates – the Mahindra XEV 9S, Nissan Gravite and MG Majestor – collectively added 6,550 units to the August tally.

The concentration at the top was substantial with the first five models accounting for 68.9 per cent of all seven-seater volumes. The top 10 contributed 91.8 per cent and the Ertiga and Scorpio alone registered 39.3 per cent.
