Volvo To Launch 13 New Cars By 2030 In Its Biggest Product Push Yet

Seven models will target Western markets and six will be developed for China as Volvo reshapes its global range

Volvo Cars has announced the largest product programme in its 99-year history with 13 all-new cars due by the end of 2030. of which, seven will target Western markets and six will be developed for China. The plan centres on battery electric models and third generation hybrids with more region-specific products planned for Europe, the US and China.

China will follow its own development route through Volvo’s partnership with Geely. The two companies will work on shared platforms, a dedicated technology stack for the Chinese market and common parts and supply arrangements. Volvo says this setup should reduce development costs and support a separate range of six electrified cars tailored specifically to China.

The Western market cars will rely on Volvo’s SPA2 and SPA3 architectures and the HuginCore computing platform. The company expects greater technical commonality across software, electronics and vehicle architecture to reduce future investment in manufacturing and technology. Volvo has also confirmed that some of the 13 cars will enter segments where the brand does not currently compete.

The third generation hybrids will sit alongside the new electric cars through the rest of the decade. The Swedish luxury brand sees these models as an important option for customers who are not yet ready to switch fully to battery power. The company also expects the expanded electric range to increase the number of market segments it can target.

The product programme is tied to a larger business goal. Volvo aims to double its market share and reach an EBIT margin above 8 per cent over time. President and CEO Håkan Samuelsson said the company’s showrooms will look very different by 2030 with future models developed more closely around regional requirements.

Volvo also plans changes to how customers purchase its cars. The company has outlined simpler pricing, streamlined offers and special versions configured for faster delivery. Regular over-the-air software updates will stay part of the package and Volvo will also expand its Care programme across future models.

The company will reveal more details during its Strategy Update in Stockholm including the sequence of the 13 new cars and the exact split between electric and third-generation hybrid models.

Production-Spec Mahindra Vision S Interior Spotted Revealing Plenty Of Details

Latest spy shots of the Mahindra Vision S show a near-production dashboard, manual gearbox and several exterior elements on Mahindra’s upcoming compact SUV

The Mahindra Vision S concept based compact SUV has been spotted again and the images expose far more of the production-spec cabin than earlier test mules. The exterior still wears full camouflage but the new test prototype shows finished-looking headlamps, grille elements, tail-lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The cabin image also reveals a manual transmission and most of the dashboard layout.

The interior shot gives away a large central horizontal touchscreen placed high on the dashboard with a separate digital instrument display behind the steering wheel. Physical controls sit below the infotainment screen and two rotary climate-control knobs are visible lower down. A manual gear lever occupies the centre console with additional switches positioned beside and behind it. The layout looks simple and upright with a tall centre tunnel.

The front seats are finished in black fabric with contrast stitching and the round steering wheel gets a three-spoke layout. The dashboard carries a dark finish across most of its width and the central screen sits above the air-vent area. The test setup also shows wiring and temporary development equipment and thus, some trim details may differ on the final production car.

The front image reveals a high-set bonnet, squared-off nose and headlamp modules positioned at the outer edges. Vertical grille slats dominate the centre section and give the SUV a clear Mahindra family face. The bumper gets a wide lower opening and the door-mounted mirrors sit high on the body. The upright windscreen and prominent front track add to the boxy stance.

The rear image shows an almost vertical tailgate with a full-size spare wheel mounted at the centre. Slim vertical tail lamps sit near the outer corners and a high-mounted stop lamp is positioned above the rear glass. The rear bumper has a wide lower section and the tailgate itself looks flat and broad. The short rear overhang also reiterates the compact proportions visible in the spy shots.

Pronounced wheel arches are visible through the camouflage. Based on the NU_IQ modular monocoque platform, the Vision S is expected to make its debut in its production guise sometime next year. It could share engine options with the XUV 3XO and will likely be slotted below the Scorpio N in the brand’s expansive SUV lineup.

New Hyundai Bayon Teased: Here’s What The Upcoming SUV Could Look Like

Hyundai has released a series of teasers revealing the Bayon’s LED lighting and alloy wheels, giving us a clearer picture of the new SUV ahead of its festive-season launch

Hyundai is gradually revealing its upcoming Bayon SUV, with the latest teasers offering the clearest look yet at its exterior design. The company has shown the front LED daytime-running lights, alloy wheels and rear LED tail-lamps, following the design sketches revealed earlier this week. The Bayon will be positioned between the Venue and Creta and is expected to launch in India during the 2026 festive season.

The Bayon teasers reveal slim, inverted-L-shaped LED DRLs positioned high on the fascia, while the main headlamps appear to sit lower down on the bumper. Creating a split-headlamp arrangement, with the lighting signature giving the SUV a distinctive face. sketches also reveal a sculpted bonnet, pronounced front fenders and sharp character lines. Hyundai calls the lighting treatment its H-Edge signature, while the overall design follows the company’s evolving Art of Steel philosophy. The lower bumper appears fairly chunky, with a rugged-looking skid plate adding to the SUV character.

The side profile has not been fully revealed yet, but earlier spy shots combined with the latest teaser give us a reasonable idea of what to expect. The Bayon has a rising window line, a noticeable kink around the C-pillar and pronounced wheel-arch cladding. The latest teaser reveals 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with an elaborate geometric pattern. The black cladding around the wheel arches should contrast with the bodywork and give the SUV a more rugged appearance. Roof rails are also expected.

The India-spec Bayon is expected to measure around 4.18 metres, making it considerably longer than the Venue while remaining below the Creta. Despite sharing its name with Hyundai’s overseas Bayon crossover, the Indian model gets a substantially different body design.

The rear teaser reveals another distinctive element. The Bayon gets slim, angular LED tail-lamps positioned high on the rear corners, with a horizontal black section visually connecting the two sides. The overall rear design appears relatively upright, with a roof spoiler and chunky bumper adding to its crossover character. The lighting treatment also mirrors the angular theme seen at the front, giving the SUV a consistent design identity.

Hyundai has already shown an interior design sketch, and this could be another major highlight. The dashboard features twin connected screens, a three-spoke steering wheel and a vertically oriented centre section for the HVAC controls. Physical controls and a wireless charging pad are also visible in the sketchThe cabin bears a strong resemblance to the recently revealed fourth-generation i20, although the Bayon gets its own SUV-oriented treatment. Hyundai says the interior has been designed around technology, connectivity and everyday usability.

Mahindra has expanded the XUV 3XO REVX range with new EDGE variants, more powertrain choices and additional premium features

Prices for the REVX EDGE start at Rs 9.39 lakh, while the new range brings features such as a 26.03 cm infotainment system, cruise control, leatherette seats and a rear-view camera to a wider set of buyers. The REVX EDGE (O) also gets a panoramic sunroof, passive keyless entry and automatic headlamps and wipers, with prices starting at Rs 9.89 lakh. Mahindra has also introduced a petrol automatic version of the REVX M(O) at Rs 9.99 lakh.

What Does The REVX EDGE Get?

The REVX EDGE gets a dual-tone roof, body-coloured/gunmetal grille and R16 steel wheels with black wheel covers. At Rs 9.89 lakh, this makes the panoramic sunroof one of the biggest talking points of the new XUV 3XO variant, particularly for buyers who want a more feature-loaded compact SUV without moving to the more expensive variants.

New Petrol Automatic REVX M(O)

Alongside the new EDGE variants, Mahindra has added a petrol automatic transmission option to the REVX M(O). It is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh, expanding the choice of automatic XUV 3XO variants below the Rs 10 lakh mark. The new REVX range therefore covers a fairly broad spread of requirements. Buyers can choose the entry-level EDGE with a manual gearbox, move to the petrol automatic, or opt for the diesel-powered versions with either a manual or AMT gearbox. The new variants are available in Everest White, Stealth Black, Tango Red, Nebula Blue and Galaxy Grey.

These Maruti Suzuki Cars Are Coming To India By 2027

Maruti Suzuki has a busy product pipeline, with a new electric MPV, updated Wagon R, Fronx facelift and a new compact SUV expected to arrive over the next year

Maruti Suzuki is preparing for one of its more interesting product cycles in recent years. The company is expanding beyond its traditional small-car and petrol portfolio with new EVs, updated engines, more SUVs and additional hybrid technology. Over the next year or so, here’s what we can expect.

1. Maruti YMC Electric MPV

The most significant upcoming product is likely to be the YMC, Maruti Suzuki’s first three-row electric vehicle. Production-ready test mules have already been spotted in India, and the model is expected to make its debut towards the end of 2026 before going on sale in 2027. It will share its electric architecture with the e Vitara, including the HEARTECT-e skateboard platform, electric motor and battery technology.

The YMC is expected to use 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery packs, similar to the e Vitara. However, its larger and taller three-row body means its range is likely to be lower than the e Vitara’s maximum claimed 543 km. The vehicle’s boxy profile and large rear quarter indicate that cabin space will be a priority. It is expected to sit above the Ertiga and XL6 in Maruti’s portfolio and could take on the upcoming Kia Carens Clavis EV.

2. New Maruti Wagon R

The Wagon R is also getting an update, and this one could be more interesting mechanically than it looks visually. A heavily camouflaged test mule has recently been spotted testing, but the familiar tall-boy proportions appear largely unchanged. The bigger development could be under the bonnet, with Maruti expected to consider its 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder petrol engine in place of the existing 1.2-litre four-cylinder K-Series unit. An underbody CNG tank has been discussed, but there is currently no confirmation if this setup makes it to the production vehicle.

3. Maruti Fronx Facelift

The Fronx facelift is another important model because the update could bring considerably more than cosmetic changes. Test mules have already been spotted, and the facelift is expected to receive revised bumpers, grille and lighting elements. More importantly, reports suggest that Maruti could introduce its new 1.2-litre Z-Series engine and in-house series-hybrid technology with the updated crossover.

Maruti Fronx Hybrid

In a series-hybrid setup, the petrol engine primarily works as a generator while an electric motor drives the wheels. Reports suggest Maruti could be targeting fuel efficiency of around 30 to 35 kmpl, although this figure is not confirmed. The Fronx could also gain Level 2 ADAS, potentially bringing features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and autonomous emergency braking to the segment.

4. Maruti Y43: New Ignis Replacement

Then there is the Y43, a new sub-four-metre SUV that could effectively replace the Ignis in Maruti’s lower-priced Nexa portfolio. The project is being developed to take on the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, but unlike the Ignis, it is expected to have a more conventional SUV stance with a higher bonnet, greater ground clearance and a more upright design. The Y43 too is expected to use Maruti’s 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine, with a factory-fitted CNG option also being reported. However, Maruti has not officially confirmed the engine, final design or production name. Its reported 2027 timeframe therefore needs to be treated as tentative.

5. Maruti’s Compact EV

Maruti is also working on a much smaller electric car aimed at the affordable end of the market. Internally known as Y2V, this model is expected to be based on the Suzuki eWX concept and use Maruti’s locally developed K-EV architecture. Unlike the YMC, this will be a compact hatchback designed primarily for urban use.

The Y2V is expected to use a battery of around 35 kWh and could eventually take on cars such as the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV. However, this is the one model on this list that is unlikely to arrive by 2027. Current reporting points towards production only in late 2027 or 2028, and Maruti is still evaluating market demand, costs and the business case for the project.

Triumph Speed 400 & Tracker 400 Prices Slashed By Up To Rs. 7,000

Triumph cuts prices of two 400-series motorcycles just two months after its previous hike, with no changes announced for the rest of the range

Triumph has reduced prices of the Speed 400 and Tracker 400 in India as it has brought in the third price revision since June. The Speed 400 is now priced at Rs. 2.34 lakh after a Rs. 6,000 cut and the Tracker 400 costs Rs. 2.42 lakh following a Rs. 7,000 reduction. The revision comes only two months after Triumph increased prices across its 400-series motorcycles.

The Tracker 400 carries the stronger engine tune of the two discounted motorcycles. Its 349 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder TR-series engine develops 40 PS at 8,750 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox, ride-by-wire throttle and assist-and-slip clutch complete the drivetrain. Its flat-track-inspired treatment includes wide handlebars, a flyscreen, seat cowl, number-board graphics and dual-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels.

Suspension also separates the Tracker from the Speed. The Tracker gets 43 mm upside-down front forks with 140 mm travel and a rear monoshock with 130 mm travel. It runs 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear MRF REVZ FD1 tyres. Braking duties are handled by a 300 mm front disc with a four-piston radial ByBre caliper and a 230 mm rear disc backed by a dual-channel ABS system.

The Speed 400 uses the same 349 cc TR-series architecture but makes 37 PS at 8,500 rpm and 32 Nm at 7,000 rpm. It also gets a 6-speed gearbox, electronic throttle control and assist-and-slip clutch. The chassis combines 43 mm upside-down Big Piston front forks with 130 mm travel and a gas-charged rear monoshock offering 120 mm travel.

The Speed rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 110/80 R17 front and 150/70 R17 rear tyres. Seat height stands at 803 mm, wheelbase measures 1,386 mm and fuel capacity is 13 litres. Wet weight is 179 kg. Equipment includes switchable traction control, full-LED lighting, an analogue-digital instrument cluster, gear-position indicator and USB-C charging.

The Tracker sits slightly taller with an 805 mm seat height and weighs around 181 kg. Fuel capacity is also 13 litres. Its equipment list includes switchable traction control, ABS, full-LED lighting and analogue-digital instrumentation. The longer suspension travel, different tyre dimensions and altered riding position give it a noticeably different chassis setup from the Speed despite the shared engine family.

Triumph has not changed prices of the Speed T4, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC or Thruxton 400. The Speed T4 costs Rs. 2.09 lakh, the Scrambler 400 X Rs. 2.65 lakh, the Scrambler 400 XC Rs. 2.99 lakh and the Thruxton 400 Rs. 2.75 lakh. The Scrambler 400 X also gets a new colour option.

3-Door Mahindra Thar Facelift To Launch Soon In India – All Key Details

The updated Thar is expected to get Roxx-inspired styling, added features and possible electric power steering with the existing engines set to carry forward

Mahindra is expected to launch the facelifted three-door Thar in India shortly with recent reports pointing to a debut next week. The current Thar received a revision late last year and the next update will bet largely on exterior styling, selected cabin upgrades and a few mechanical changes. However, the engine range is expected to stay the same.

The entry version should retain the 1.5-litre diesel with around 119 hp joined by the 2.2-litre diesel with around 132 hp and the 2.0-litre turbo petrol with 152 hp. All three versions will continue with a 6-speed manual gearbox and the 2.2-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol mill should also offer a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5-litre diesel will remain with rear-wheel drive while 4×4 will be reserved for the larger diesel and turbo petrol engines.

One mechanical revision under consideration is electric power steering in place of the hydraulic setup fitted to the current three-door Thar. Such a change could reduce steering effort at lower speeds and align the SUV more closely with latest Mahindra models. The cabin could receive another tech upgrade after the additions made last year.

A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and automatic climate control are among the features expected this time. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, rear AC vents, Type-C charging ports, rear-view camera, cruise control and power-adjustable ORVMs will be part of the equipment list along with the steering wheel lifted from Thar Roxx.

Exterior revisions should give the three-door Thar a well aligned visual link with the Thar Roxx. Test vehicles have shown circular LED projector headlamps, C-shaped lighting elements, revised front fenders and new five-spoke alloy wheels. Different prototypes have also featured two grille designs including a five-slot treatment and another with a double-stacked six slat layout.

Changes at the rear may include revised LED tail lamps and a redesigned bumper. Reports have also pointed to a possible return of a soft-top derivative. The outgoing Thar is priced between Rs. 10.32 lakh and Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom) and the facelift could command a modest premium based on variant and features list.
