Top 10 Scooters July 2025 – Activa, Jupiter, Access, Dio, Ntorq, Ola, iQube

New TVS Jupiter 110-4

In July 2025, the table of top 10 scooters saw Honda Activa continuing to be the leader ahead of TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Access and Honda Dio

In the month of July 2025, the top 10 scooters clocked 5,85,418 units – up nearly 16 per cent year-on-year. At the centre of it all, the Honda Activa remained the unchallenged leader but the real excitement came from Hero Destini 125 which posted an unbelievable three-fold jump in sales.

The Activa once again proved why it is synonymous with scooters in India. Selling 2,37,413 units, it grew 21.37 per cent over last year’s tally of 195,604 units – nearly 42,000 more dispatches. In second place, TVS Jupiter put on a show as well. With 1,24,876 units sold, the scooter jumped 67.25 per cent year-on-year – adding over 50,000 units.

The Suzuki Access slipped 4.32 per cent to 68,172 units – losing some traction despite being a steady seller. Meanwhile, Honda’s youth-centric Dio dropped sharply by 16.49 per cent – sliding to 27,951 units. The Dio once enjoyed cult status with younger riders but its slowdown suggests that Honda may need a major makeover.

Other key players stayed relatively stable. The TVS Ntorq dipped slightly by 2.13 per cent to 26,258 units while Suzuki Burgman held steady with a healthy 19.76 per cent rise to 23,720 units. Burgman’s maxi-scooter styling continues to attract buyers who want a little more road presence. On the EV front, TVS iQube showed modest progress – rising 9.33 per cent to 23,029 units last month.

Its steady sales prove there is still consistent demand for reliable electric scooters even as hype cycles fade. The smaller names also played their part. The Yamaha RayZR registered 16,421 units – growing 11.78 per cent and keeping Yamaha in the scooter game – though far from the leaders.

But the biggest headline was Hero Destini 125 which exploded by a jaw-dropping 245.52 per cent. From a modest 5,709 units last July, it jumped to 19,726. At the other extreme was Ola S1 – once seen as the flag bearer of the EV revolution. Retail sales dropped by a crushing 57.29 per cent – falling from 41,802 units last July to just 17,852 this year.

The market grew, led by Honda and TVS, while Hero pulled off a comeback that few expected. At the same time, the struggles of Access, Dio and Ola S1 highlight how unforgiving the segment can be. With demand expanding and competition heating up, the scooter market is poised to see plenty of activity this festive season.

4 New Hyundai Compact SUVs Worth Waiting For

GaadiWaadi -

2024 Hyundai Bayon Facelift_

Hyundai India is likely to launch at least four new compact SUVs in the next 10-12 months in the country, including EVs

Hyundai India is planning an SUV onslaught in the country with the launch of as many as four new compact models. The South Korean automaker already retails five SUVs in the Indian market in the form of Exter, Venue, Creta, Tucson and Alcazar. While it is poised to launch the new-gen version of Venue and Exter, it will also introduce two all-new compact SUVs namely Inster EV and Bayon crossover. In this piece, we will talk in detail about the four new Hyundai compact SUVs launching in 2025-26 in India.

1. New-Gen Hyundai Venue

The new-gen Venue will be launched on Oct 24, 2025 in the domestic market. The SUV has already been spotted on several instances during its test runs on the Indian roads. The new-gen Hyundai Venue will get major visual updates with most of the design cues borrowed from the Creta. It will also feature an updated cabin with premium features, including Level 2 ADAS.

New Hyundai venue

Mechanically, the new-gen Venue is likely to carry over the same set of petrol and diesel engines. It will continue to be powered by the same 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L diesel powertrains. While the petrol engines come paired to a 5-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox options, the diesel engine is available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Hyundai may introduce the iMT and AT gearboxes with the diesel engine of the new-gen Venue.

2. Hyundai Bayon

Representational

Hyundai will introduce a direct rival to Maruti Fronx in mid 2026 in the Indian market. The Bayon-based crossover is likely to come with a newly-developed 1.2L petrol engine with hybrid tech. In addition, it could also get the 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine for the higher trims. Though the global version of Hyundai Bayon measures close to 4.2 metres in length, the India-spec model would be kept under 4 metres in length to attract lower govt taxes.

3. Hyundai Inster EV

Hyundai already retails multiple electric models in the Indian market in the form of the Ioniq 5 and Creta EV. However, it has plans to expand the all-electric vehicle portfolio by launching the Inster-based electric SUV to challenge Tata Punch EV. Hyundai Inster-based EV is under consideration as it is internally codenamed as HE1i for India.

Scheduled to launch in the second half of 2026, Hyundai Inster EV could be rolled out with two battery packs namely Standard (42 kWh) and Long Range (49 kWh) with driving range of 300 km and 355 km, respectively, on a single charge. It will get an array of premium features such as automatic climate control, twin 10.25-inch display for central touchscreen system and driver’s digital display, ADAS tech and 360-degree camera.

4. Hyundai Exter facelift

The Exter will receive a mid-cycle facelift sometime in mid-2026. Though not much is known about it presently, we expect subtle cosmetic updates at the outside and inside the cabin. It could be equipped with a few first-in-segment features. Under the bonnet, Hyundai Exter facelift will retain the naturally-aspirated 1.2L petrol engine which develops top power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 114 Nm.

TVS Orbiter India Launch Tomorrow – What We Know So Far

GaadiWaadi -

Tvs Electric Scooter (1)

TVS Orbiter is expected to use 2-3.5 kWh battery packs and it will likely compete with Ola S1X in the sub Rs. 1 lakh price bracket

TVS is looking to expand its EV lineup with a new electric scooter addition that will sit beneath the iQube. The forthcoming model, tipped to carry the Orbiter name, is being positioned as an affordable alternative to pull in mass-market buyers. Launch is expected to happen tomorrow as TVS has scheduled a product debut.

Pricing is likely to be set just below the Rs. 1 lakh mark (ex-showroom) and it could feature a 2-3.5 kWh battery pack. Courtesy of this strategy, TVS will directly take on entry-level variants of the Ola S1 series primarily the SX and other budget-focused electric scooters like Hero’s Vida VX2 and entry-spec Bajaj Chetak.

Although TVS has trademarked the Orbiter name in India, it remains unclear whether this will be the scooter’s final badge. Interestingly, a recently surfaced patent filing in Indonesia hints at what the design could look like. The TVS Orbiter appears to adopt a brand new styling approach while featuring some design cues from the iQube.

The zero-emission scooter’s front fascia features a headlamp mounted on the handlebar cowl, capped by a neat, compact visor. Adding to its distinct look is a sleek LED daytime running light bar that runs across both the front and rear. The styling cue is somewhat reminiscent of the latest Jupiter 110. Interestingly, the strip could also serve a dual purpose by functioning as integrated turn indicators.

The Orbiter is expected to feature a smaller rear wheel – a choice that serves practical purposes such as keeping the seat height accessible and freeing up more room for underseat storage – adding to its everyday usability. The scooter’s upright stance could be complemented by a flat floorboard while storage spaces behind the front apron are also likely.

TVS-new-electric-scooter-Orbiter-2.jpg

Much like the iQube, the new model is expected to use a hub-mounted motor. At the rear, suspension duties will be handled by twin shock absorbers. Expect the TVS Orbiter to come with claimed driving range between 110 km and 160 km on a single charge depending on the variants. It must be noted that the iQube is already sold with 2.2 kWh, 3.1 kWh, 3.5 kWh and 5.3 kWh battery packs in India.

TVS is also planning to launch the Ntorq 150 next week and it will compete with the Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox 155. It could be equipped with a brand new 150 cc engine while the RTX 300 adv is waiting in the wings.

6 Upcoming Tata & Mahindra SUVs To Drool About In India

GaadiWaadi -

mahindra XUv.e8 rendering

Mahindra & Tata are likely to launch six new SUV models in the coming 4-6 months in the Indian market

Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra, the two home-grown Mumbai-based auto brands, own more than one-third of the market share in the SUV segment in the domestic market. While Mahindra has the biggest SUV portfolio among all the OEMs in India with a total of 12 models including three EVs, Tata Motors retails seven SUVs in the country, which includes 3 all-electric models.

However, as the saying goes, the more the better, Tata and Mahindra have planned multiple new SUV launches in the Indian market in the coming few months, which we will detail in this article.

1&2. Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol

Tata Motors will launch the Harrier and Safari with a petrol engine in Nov 2025 in the Indian market. Both the SUVs will be equipped with BS6 Phase II compliant 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine which belts out top power of 166 bhp and highest torque of 280 Nm while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. It is believed that a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will also be on offer.

Tata Harrier & Safari Adventure X Persona

Earlier, the company had planned to introduce the petrol-powered Harrier and Safari in Jan 2026. However, sources reveal that Tata has preponed the launch by a couple of months to take advantage of the Diwali festive season. Visually, the SUVs will be identical to their diesel siblings while borrowing the same set of features. Needless to state, the petrol version of the SUVs will be cheaper as compared to the diesel ones.

3&4. Tata Sierra EV and ICE

Tata Sierra debuted at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo in pre-production form earlier this year. At that time, it was announced that the legendary SUV of the 90s will make a comeback in both ICE and EV avatars. Now, it has been learnt that Tata Sierra EV will be launched ahead of the ICE-powered version of the SUV. It is likely to go on sale before April 2026 in the Indian market.

2025-Tata-Sierra-Spied.jpg

The Sierra EV will borrow most of the features and battery pack from the Harrier EV. It could be presented with 65 kWh and 75 kWh batteries with a maximum driving range of 600+ km on a full charge. The ICE model too will share the 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines with the Harrier and Safari. Expect the Sierra to be a more feature-rich offering than the Harrier and Sierra.

5. Mahindra XEV 7e

Mahindra-XEV-7e-XUV-700-EV.jpg

Mahindra XEV 7e could go on sale by the end of 2025 in the Indian market. The three-row version of the XEV 9e will come packed with premium features. However, the styling will not be as radical as seen in XEV 9e and BE 6. Being the third Born-Electric SUV from the brand to be based on the INGLO platform, the XEV 9e will directly rival the Kia Carens Clavis EV as it is the only mass-market seven-seater EV on sale in India. It will be equipped with the same battery pack as the XEV 9e.

6. Mahindra XUV7OO Facelift

Mahindra XUV700 Facelift2

The XUV7OO facelift will debut in the Q1 2026 in the Indian market. It will borrow styling cues from the BE 6 and XEV 9e while the cabin will be packed with advanced features. The 2.0L turbocharged petrol and 2.2L turbo-diesel engines are likely to be retained with the same power and torque figures. Internally codenamed as W616, it will come with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission choices.

BYD Atto 2 Midsize Electric SUV Spotted Ahead Of Launch

GaadiWaadi -

BYD-Atto-2.jpg

The Hyundai Creta EV rival is likely to come with a 51.1 kWh battery pack which returns a driving range of 340+ km on a single charge

BYD, the China-based EV brand, is planning to introduce a new entry-level SUV in the Indian market in the form of the Atto 2. Recently, it was launched in the UK in a price range of £30,850 – £34,950 (Around Rs 36.45 – 41.30 lakh). Now, the BYD Atto 2 has been spotted on the Indian roads, hinting that it could go on sale in our country in the next few weeks. Since BYD doesn’t have a factory in India and all its models are sold as a direct import (CBU) from China, the Atto 2 is likely to cost around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom).

The UK-spec BYD Atto 2 comes with a plethora of premium features in the form of 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging, high tech audio system with eight speakers, ‘Hi BYD’ intelligent voice control, 17-inch alloy wheels and vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology. Most of these features are expected to be on offer with the India-spec model.

Dimensionally, BYD Atto 2 measures 4310 mm in length, 1830 mm in width and 1675 mm in height while having a wheelbase of 2620 mm. These dimensions are pretty identical to Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and MG ZS EV. However, all these all-electric SUVs are priced in Rs 20-30 lakh (ex-showroom). Hence, it would be quite challenging for the Atto 2 to survive in this segment.

The Atto 2 is loaded with BYD’s innovative Blade Battery with cell-to-body (CTB) technology. It is the first midsize SUV from the Chinese brand to feature this advanced tech. The UK-bound model is available with 51.1 kWh and 64.8 kWh battery packs with WLTP driving range of 344 km and 420 km, respectively. The 0-100 kmph sprint time for both the models is 7.9 secs before topping out at 160 kmph.

Though it is not official yet, we strongly believe that the India-spec BYD Atto 2 will be equipped with the 51.1 kWh battery pack. It has max power of 174 bhp and peak torque of 290 Nm while the 64.8 kWh battery pack delivers 201 bhp and 310 Nm. The all-electric 5-seater SUV has a boot capacity of 400 litres which can be further expanded up to 1340 litres by folding the rear seats.

Also Read: Top 6 Upcoming Hybrid SUVs In 2025-26 – Maruti To Mahindra

BYD-Atto-2-Interior.jpg

The 51.1 kWh battery can be juiced up with an 82kW DC on-board charger which charges it from 30 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes. On the other hand, the 64.8 kWh battery comes with a 155kW DC on-board charger which takes merely 21 mins for a 30-80 percent charge. Both the SUVs can also be charged via the conventional 11kW 3-phase AC charger in 5 hours and 42 mins for the 51.1 kWh battery pack and 7 hours and 12 mins for the 64.8 kWh battery pack.

BYD India filed a design patent for the Atto 2 in May 2024. It was confirmed by the brand officials that a new midsize electric SUV will be launched in the Indian market by late 2025. Hence, with the spy images emerging of the SUV on the Indian roads, the launch seems to be imminent.

Top 10 2Ws July 2025 – Splendor, Activa, Shine, Jupiter, Pulsar, Apache

GaadiWaadi -

Hero Splendor Plus XTEC pearl white

In the list of top 10 two-wheelers for July 2025, Hero Splendor stayed as the best-seller ahead of Activa, Shine, Jupiter and Pulsar

The two-wheeler market in India continued its impressive sales in July 2025 with total volumes of 10,90,257 units compared to 9,63,086 units in the same month last year. It resulted in a healthy year-on-year growth of 13.20 per cent. While some popular models registered a decline, the overall performance of the top ten ensured that the segment closed the month positively.

Leading the sales charts once again was the Hero Splendor which recorded 2,46,715 units in July 2025. The commuter’s tally marked an increase of 11.73 per cent over the 2,20,820 units sold during July 2024. The Splendor has consistently maintained its dominance in the motorcycle segment with its reputation for reliability, affordability and economy.

Its steady growth indicates the continued preference for value-oriented two-wheelers in the country. The Honda Activa retained its position as the top scooter in India – finishing close behind the Splendor. With 2,37,413 units sold, it registered a 21.37 per cent growth compared to 1,95,604 units sold during the corresponding month in 2024.

Meanwhile, Hero’s HF Deluxe showed a 53.30 per cent growth with 71,477 units.

The remaining spots in the list were occupied by Suzuki Access, TVS Apache, TVS XL and Honda CB Unicorn. While the Access and TVS XL posted declines, Apache and CB Unicorn delivered double digit growth rates.
