The official launch of the Marut e Vitara has been confirmed for September, 2025. This will be Maruti Suzuki’s first electric offering and a direct answer to the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra BE 6. While official details will be revealed in the coming months, some of its performance details have been leaked on the web.

As per the leaked information, the electric Vitara will support DC fast charging, and its 61.1kWh battery version will take nearly 50 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 percent. This battery pack will be paired to an electric motor and a FWD (front-wheel drive) system. It returns a claimed power of 171bhp and 192Nm of torque.
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the e Vitara will offer a range of over 500km (MIDC) on a single charge. The new Maruti electric SUV will accelerate 0 to 100kmph under 9 seconds. The EV will also be available with a smaller 49kWh battery pack, powered by front-axle mounted motor. This configuration offers a maximum power of 143bhp and 192.5Nm of torque.

Charging Infra Plan:
During its unveiling event, Maruti Suzuki announced a new ‘e for Me’ strategy, under which the brand will set up fast chargers at its Nexa dealerships in top 100 cities. Furthermore, there will be a dedicated charging app for buyers and over 1,500 EV-specific service centres in over 1,000 cities.
