The key automotive brands like Tata Motors, Mahindra and Volkswagen will soon launch their 7-seater SUVs in the Indian market
The 7-seater SUV segment in the Indian market will soon have multiple new entrants from the leading auto brands such as Tata, Mahindra and Volkswagen. There are already several popular three-row, seven-seater SUV models on sale in the country such as Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7OO, and Toyota Fortuner among others. Hence, the arrival of the new SUVs in this segment will further intensify the competition while giving the buyers a greater choice of selection. In this piece, we will talk about the upcoming new 7-seater SUVs in India.
1. Mahindra XEV 7e
The XEV 7e, being the 7-seater derivative of the XEV 9e, will be Mahindra’s third born-electric SUV model in the Indian market. The all-electric SUV has been leaked online, well ahead of its official debut. The leaked image shows that Mahindra XEV 9e will come with a traditional design as compared to the radical styling of the XEV 9e.

The 7-seater SUV will share the same platform and battery pack (59kWh and 79kWh) as the XEV 9e. It will be positioned at the top in the Mahindra’s EV portfolio while being around Rs 2-3 lakh more expensive than the 5-seater XEV 9e. Though it has not been confirmed yet by the brand, it is likely to go on sale by the end of 2025 in the Indian market.
