Kawasaki KLX 230 is locally produced and gets lesser suspension travel and a single-channel ABS system as part of the 2026 update

Kawasaki officially launched the KLX 230 in India towards the end of last year with a huge price tag of Rs. 3.30 lakh (ex-showroom) that sent shockwaves amongst enthusiasts. Now, the brand has introduced the 2026 iteration with a massive price cut and a couple of notable changes to lure in buyers as they appear to have learned a thing or two.

Firstly, the Kawasaki KLX 230’s price has been reduced big time by Rs. 1.31 lakh as it now costs only Rs. 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom) courtesy of it being produced locally. As for changes, the 2026MY version comes with lesser suspension wheel travel on either end and the dual-channel ABS system has been opted out for a single-channel unit.

It continues to be the second most affordable motorcycle from Kawasaki in India and will now firmly take on Hero Xpulse 210. The dual-sport motorcycle continues to use a 233 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine which is good enough to develop a maximum power output of 18.1 bhp and 18.3 Nm of peak torque, linked with a six-speed transmission.

The Kawasaki KLX 230 gets a suspension setup comprising telescopic forks at the front and a linked monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at both ends. The motorcycle features wire-spoked wheels with a 21-inch rim at the front and an 18-inch at the rear – both shod with knobby tyres for off-road grip.

Buyers can choose from two available paint options. The Kawasaki KLX 230 carries a purposeful, no-nonsense design, marked by a minimalist fairing, a high-set front fender and a short as well as tidy tail section. Its long and flat seat adds to its off-road practicality – allowing better movement for the rider.
