Maruti Suzuki’s year-over-year sales performance remained flat in July 2025, but marked a healthy recovery over the preceding month

With 1,37,776 cars sold in July 2025, Maruti Suzuki registered virtually zero year-over-year growth or decline. For the record, the company had delivered 1,37,463 vehicles in July 2024. Compared to June 2025, though, when it had shipped 1,18,906 cars, it logged a 16% increment in sales in July 2025.

The Dzire was Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling model in India last month. The company sold 20,895 units of the sub-4 metre sedan, 79% more than in the same month of the previous year (11,647 units). The superb growth was driven by the full redesign in November last year. On the other hand, the Ciaz, the company’s only other sedan, saw a 71% year-over-year decline, dropping from 603 units to 173 units, as it cleared the last remaining stock.

Among hatchbacks, the Wagon R was in the lead, registering 14,710 units. The Swift wasn’t far behind, though, with 14,190 units sold. That said, the sales of these models were lower than in July 2024, by 9% and 16%, respectively. The Baleno logged 12,503 units, growing 34% over the same month last year (9,308 units).
