New Tata Sierra has been made available in seven variants and six colour schemes across three engine and transmission options
Tata Motors has brought back the Sierra nameplate in a brand new form and this time it enters the heart of India’s midsize SUV battlefield. Priced from Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), even its base variant feels well equipped for the segment. On paper, it looks capable of giving the Hyundai Creta and its rivals a serious run for their money.
The all-new Sierra is being offered in seven trim levels – Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+. Bookings will open from December 16 while customer deliveries are slated to begin around mid-January 2026. Tata has also rolled out the SUV in six exterior colour options and positions it above the Curvv in its current lineup.
Under the hood, buyers can choose from three engine options across two petrol and one diesel configuration. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol produces 106 PS and 145 Nm while the more powerful and new 1.5-litre turbo petrol delivers 160 PS and 255 Nm. The diesel alternative develops 120 PS and up to 280 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual, torque converter automatic and DCT – depending on the variant and engine.

Structurally, the Sierra is built on Tata’s new modular ARGOS platform, engineered to support multiple powertrains and body styles in the future. The design nods heavily to the original Sierra but with modern proportions – squared-off stance, a tall glass area, slim LED headlights, illuminated light bars and a prominent upright SUV profile.
The cabin is dominated by a triple-screen layout – a fully digital driver’s display, a central touchscreen and a dedicated passenger-side screen. The dashboard also integrates a JBL audio system with a soundbar and Dolby Atmos support. Materials, textures and seat comfort push the Sierra slightly closer to a premium SUV territory.

Feature highlights are a panoramic sunroof, terrain modes, powered tailgate, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, dual-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS with more than 20 functions and six airbags as standard across variants. The SUV also offers under-thigh support extension, auxiliary lights and more.
The big talking point remains the base Smart+ variant. With LED lighting, digital cluster, all-wheel disc brakes, six airbags, ESP, flush door handles, electric parking brake and multiple convenience features on offer, it definitely offers a strong value proposition but lack a dedicated touchscreen infotainment system.
