Nissan Tekton will sit on the CMF-B platform and it will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, etc
Nissan has officially locked in February 2026 for the Indian debut of its upcoming midsize SUV – the Tekton – a crucial step in the brand’s revival strategy. Ahead of this, Nissan will launch the Gravite compact MPV in January with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in March 2026. Alongside these two models, the company already confirmed that a seven-seat SUV is under development for the domestic and global market.
Positioned to compete directly in the hotly contested midsize SUV space, the Nissan Tekton will take on established rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Kia Seltos, Mahindra Scorpio N, Tata Sierra and the likes. The SUV will be unveiled at Nissan’s brand resurgence event in February 2026 and is expected to play a key role in rebuilding the company’s presence in India.
Under the skin, the Tekton will share its underpinnings with the next-gen Renault Duster. It will be based on the CMF-B platform, a modern architecture that has been extensively localised for Indian conditions while meeting global safety standards. Production will take place at the Renault-Nissan Alliance facility in Chennai. The same platform will also support additional body styles in the future including a three-row SUV planned for FY2027.

On the design front, the Tekton channels cues from Nissan’s larger global SUVs. The upright proportions, squared-off silhouette and muscular stance are inspired by the Nissan Patrol. At the front, it will feature a muscular grille design, C-shaped LED headlamps and a sculpted bonnet while the rear will sport a full-width LED light strip, integrated spoiler and prominent Tekton badging.
Although Nissan has not revealed the interior yet, the cabin highlights will more likely include a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver display, soft-touch surfaces and a suite of advanced driver assistance features. It may also get ventilated seats, powered tailgate, wireless charging, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof and six airbags.

Powertrain details remain under wraps but the Tekton is expected to arrive initially with turbo petrol engine options paired with both manual and automatic gearboxes. A strong-hybrid version could be introduced at a later stage and select higher variants may offer an all-wheel drive system.
