BMW iX1 LWB gets a new exterior paint scheme and interior enhancements as part of the MY 2026 update; no mechanical changes have been made

On the back of impressive sales numbers, BMW India has updated its iX1 Long Wheelbase version with new visual and interior enhancements. The luxury SUV is locally manufactured and is now available for booking at BMW dealerships across the country with an expanded set of colour and upholstery choices to bring a refreshed vibe.

A new exterior paint option known as Night Dusk Blue Metallic has been introduced. With this addition, customers can now choose from four shades in total – Night Dusk Blue, Mineral White, Carbon Black and Skyscraper Grey. Inside the cabin, BMW has added new Veganza upholstery options – offering Smoke White with Atlas Grey in a dual-tone combination and a deeper Castanea finish.

These vegan leather materials are derived through sustainable sourcing and feature a unique 3D stitching pattern. The updated upholstery helps enhance the premium appeal of the interior. Adding to the ambience is BMW’s “Cocooning Effect” where the selected upholstery shade flows into multiple parts of the interior.

Elements such as door panels, sections of the dashboard and even the speaker mesh now carry matching tones. Besides these cosmetic inclusions, no other changes have been made as the iX1 LWB remains the same mechanically. The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase has achieved significant success in India – emerging as the highest-selling premium electric vehicle in the country.

In less than a year since its introduction, it has become a key contributor to BMW’s leadership in the luxury EV segment. Continuous feature updates including the addition of a Surround View Camera and now the refreshed colour and trim palette have helped keep it highly competitive in the market. Measuring 4,616 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, the iX1 LWB is the largest model in its segment and stands among the longest five-seater SUVs available in India.

Its imposing road presence is paired with a spacious and airy interior. Powering the SUV is BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive system – producing a maximum power output of 204 hp and 250 Nm of peak torque. A 66.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, positioned flat under the floor, offers a certified MIDC range of up to 531 km on a single charge. Features such as adaptive energy recuperation and one-pedal driving help improve overall efficiency by capturing braking energy and feeding it back into the battery.
