Suzuki recorded a domestic tally of just over one lakh units in January 2026 as it moved to fifth in the overall manufacturers’ sales charts by beating Royal Enfield and Yamaha courtesy of the Access. Compared to the same period last year with 87,834 units, the Japanese company registered a YoY surge of 14.2 per cent with a market share of 5.21 per cent.

The Access continues to carry the company on its shoulders while the motorcycle portfolio remains comparatively small in volume despite a few bright spots. The 125 cc scooter was Suzuki’s best-seller at 69,042 units. That’s a massive 26 per cent year-on-year increase – even though volumes were marginally down compared to December.

Next in line was the Burgman Street series with 23,474 units. While it saw an 8 per cent dip year-on-year, month-on-month growth was slightly positive. The maxi-scooter styling still attracts consumers who want something more premium than a conventional scooter. Meanwhile, the Avenis, Suzuki’s sportier 125 cc scooter, managed a total of 5,068 units.
