Mahindra XUV 7XO Pre-Bookings To Open On Dec 15 – Teased Again

Mahindra XUV 7XO Pre-Bookings

Mahindra XUV 7XO will go on sale on January 5 and it will receive a slew of revisions inside and out while no mechanical changes are likely

Mahindra has set December 15, 2025, 12 PM as the moment when customers can finally start putting down the Rs. 21,000 booking amount for the XUV 7XO. The reservation process will let buyers pick the engine type, the transmission they want and the dealership they prefer, whether they walk into a showroom or use the brand’s online portals. Petrol and diesel choices stay on the table – both paired with either a manual or an automatic gearbox.

The SUV itself is lined up for a January 5, 2026 global reveal – arriving as the transformed successor to today’s XUV 700. The teaser clips already released show snippets of the updated design as the new lighting details at both ends hint at how Mahindra wants to mirror the move it earlier made when switching from the XUV 300 name to the XUV 3XO branding.

Design cues look influenced by the XEV 9S. The front carries a prominent LED DRL signature and LED projector headlamps while the rear uses an inverted L-shaped graphic stretched across by a full-width bar. New dual-tone alloy wheels, revised paint options, a new grille section with vertical chrome slats and detailing, XUV 7XO branding on the boot and bonnet, and tweaked bumpers all seem part of the makeover.

Even with the visual rework, the overall size of the SUV isn’t expected to change. Mahindra appears ready to keep the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel and the 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol in place along with the familiar six-speed manual and six-speed automatic setups. The XUV 7XO is slated to become the first Mahindra ICE model to adopt the triple-screen dashboard framework used on the XEV 9S and 9E.

Features like 5G connectivity, a refreshed UI, Alexa integration, Boss Mode, new vents and surface trims, upgraded door pads and materials, a redesigned centre console and a reworked steering wheel, etc are expected. The XUV 700 currently sits between Rs. 13.66 lakh and Rs. 25.14 lakh ex-showroom and based on the extra tech and cosmetic changes, the 7XO version is expected to be positioned slightly higher.

The latest teaser also indicates the presence of electrically adjustable ORVMs, passenger side touchscreen at the front and a premium looking dashboard with tan/brown finish. Following the good reception for the XEV 9E and BE 6, Mahindra is gunning for higher market share with the arrival of the XUV 7XO and the recently launched XEV 9S.

New Nissan Compact MPV To Be Unveiled On 18 December

GaadiWaadi -

Nissan-C-SUV-Compact-MPV-2.jpeg

Nissan’s new sub-4 metre model likely to be its most affordable MPV underpinned by localised platform

From the recently introduced Mahindra XEV 9S, all-new Tata Sierra, and all-new Kia Seltos, to the upcoming new MG Hector, India is seeing a flurry of premium SUV activity this month. December will also bring a new budget MPV. Nissan has announced that it will unveil its India-focused MPV on 18 December.

The company shared its teaser images in March, and we have already learned quite a lot about its other details since. Nissan has yet to reveal the name of its upcoming MPV, but the teaser images and spy shots captured during its road testing have all but confirmed it will be a corporate cousin of the Renault Triber. Developed with strict cost targets, the new model will largely resemble its French donor.

The upcoming Nissan MPV will have the same body shell as the Renault Triber and share most of the soft plastic parts as well. A unique radiator grille, a distinctive front bumper, and revised headlamp and tail lamp graphics will differentiate it. We expect new 15-inch alloy wheels and a few different paint options as well.

Upcoming Nissan MPV

Nissan has yet to release any details about the interior of its upcoming MPV, but we expect the cabin to largely mirror the Renault Triber, in terms of both design and features. There’s a strong chance that visual differences on the inside would be fewer. That said, the Renault Triber provides a cleverly designed, well-equipped base to build on.

A 2+3+2 seating layout should be standard, with slide/recline/fold and tumble second-row seats and removable third-row seats that allow the boot space to be expanded when travelling with five or fewer occupants. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, a 7-inch driver information display, and a wireless smartphone charger would be among the key interior features.

On the safety front, Nissan will likely equip the new MPV with features like front and rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, six airbags, ESC, HSA, and TCS. Under the hood, we expect a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. 5-speed manual and automated manual will likely be the transmission choices.

Mahindra Working On New Budget SUVs Based On NU_IQ Platform

GaadiWaadi -

Mahindra Vision.T (1)

The first NU_IQ platform based Mahindra compact SUV is expected to be based on the Vision S concept and it has been spotted testing repeatedly

Mahindra’s long-term product offensive is being built around the NU_IQ architecture – an adaptable monocoque platform that was revealed earlier this year together with four concept models. Instead of treating it as a single-configuration base, Mahindra has engineered it from the start to support petrol, diesel and electric drivetrains.

This would make it suitable for cost-effective localisation in different regions while keeping the core bits common. The approach is meant to shorten launch timelines and help the brand penetrate multiple global markets at once. A large number of recent buyers are actually first-time Mahindra owners, and several of them have come from premium brands because the born-electric duo proved compelling enough.

Those EVs managed to cross the 30,000 unit sales mark within seven months of going on sale. Much of Mahindra’s international groundwork has been unfolding in phases with South Africa being treated as the real-world rehearsal zone. The brand is deliberately choosing to build the base dealer infrastructure, stable parts access, dependable service networks and long-term brand reinforcement before flooding any new market with models there.

Mahindra-Vision-X-2.jpg

In addition to this, Mahindra has been strengthening its ties with high-level electronics and component suppliers. The goal is to provide advanced safety layers, better digital features and upgraded electronic systems at a pace fast enough to match global competitors without disrupting manufacturing or slowing down rollouts. The strategy behind supplier integration is becoming a crucial piece of the NU_IQ strategy.

Where the company’s intentions become even clearer is in the sub-four-metre category. For years treated as a secondary space by Mahindra, this segment has suddenly become a renewed priority after recent tax structure shifts. It is now being regarded as a strong volume global segment that could complement the brand’s established presence in the 4.5-metre SUV class which continues to be its main revenue foundation.

Mahindra-Vision-S-2.jpg

Mahindra hinted at this direction back in August 2025 when the Vision S, Vision X and Vision T concepts were showcased. Each of them pointed to a different production-ready shape: the Vision S appears destined to evolve into a compact SUV that would serve as a smaller and more accessible sibling to the Scorpio while the Vision X is expected to take the form of a compact crossover with a mass appeal.

Meanwhile, the Vision T concept acted as the preview of the next-gen electric-only Thar. With the NU_IQ platform planned to spawn multiple models starting 2027, the Vision S-based compact SUV is likely to be the first to break cover.

Top 10 SUVs Nov 2025 – Nexon, Punch, Creta, Scorpio, Victoris, Sonet

GaadiWaadi -

Tata Nexon (5)

In November 2025, Tata Nexon headed the SUV sales standings ahead of Punch, Creta, Scorpio and Fronx in India

With consumer demand transforming toward feature rich, city friendly, and highway capable SUVs, the segment has been the favourite for majority of buyers in India and the sales table bodes well to its wide acceptance. At the top of the list, the Tata Nexon maintained its lead with 22,434 units and endured an impressive 46 per cent year-on-year growth.

Consistent updates, strong brand loyalty, and wide powertrain choices helped the Nexon secure its position as the best-selling SUV once again. Close behind, its sibling – the Tata Punch – registered 18,753 units, a 21 per cent rise compared to last year. The Punch attracts buyers looking for a budget-friendly micro SUV with decent ground clearance.

The Hyundai Creta, one of the segment’s longest-standing favourites, secured the third spot by recording total dispatches of 17,344 units. While its growth remained moderate at 12 percent YoY, the Creta’s popularity remains rooted in its loaded feature list and broad engine lineup. Meanwhile, Mahindra’s Scorpio posted 15,616 units for November – translating to a healthy 23 percent jump from last year.

Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx continued its stable run with 15,058 units – posting a marginal 1 percent increase. Despite the small year-on-year gain, its month-over-month consistency shows that the crossover-style SUV has carved a firm position among consumers. The recently introduced Maruti Suzuki Victoris made good impression with a total of 12,300 units.

Kia’s Sonet garnered 12,051 units last month as against 9,255 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago and secured a notable 30 per cent rise over last year. The Hyundai Venue finished in the ninth position with a total of 11,645 units as against 9,754 units in November 2024 with a YoY growth of 19 per cent.

New Tata Sierra 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine Sets Fuel Economy Record

GaadiWaadi -

Tata-Sierra-Mileage-Record-Top-Speed-NATRAX-1.jpg

New Tata Sierra is powered by a 1.5L turbo petrol engine producing 160 PS maximum power and 255 Nm, paired with a six-speed AT

Tata Motors has announced that the all-new Sierra has now entered the India Book of Records for setting the highest fuel efficiency figure achieved over a 12-hour period. During a certified endurance run at the NATRAX proving ground in Indore, the Sierra clocked an impressive 29.9 kmpl – surpassing the previous national record and placing the SUV in a league of its own.

The continuous drive was carried out on November 30, 2025, by the Pixel Motion team, who kept the vehicle running from 7 AM to 7 PM with only short, scheduled stops for driver changes. Officials validated the record on the same day. The test vehicles used Tata’s new 1.5-litre Hyperion turbocharged petrol engine.

It has been said to be engineered around efficiency-first architecture without sacrificing smoothness, drivability or performance headroom. Its finely calibrated combustion process, wide and usable torque band and reduced internal friction allowed the Sierra to maintain consistent delivery throughout the lengthy half day cycle according to Tata.

To know how the new powertrain works in real-world conditions, our detailed drive review and 700 km mileage test is already up on our Youtube channel. The record-setting run wasn’t limited to efficiency alone. In a separate test at the same facility, the Sierra hit a top speed of 222 kmph under controlled conditions – further demonstrating the performance potential of the Hyperion engine.

However, Tata Motors clarified that customer vehicles will be electronically limited to 190 kmph in adherence to the company’s safety norms. Tata Motors has also issued an advisory stressing that the fuel efficiency and top speed tests were conducted by trained professionals under tightly regulated environments and it strongly discourages owners from attempting to replicate such speeds or driving styles.

The new Sierra scored five stars in Bharat NCAP crash tests and is underpinned by the modular ARGOS platform.

Prices of the new gen Kia Seltos will be announced on January 2, 2026 before the commencement of deliveries by mid-Jan

Bookings open nationwide from midnight for an initial amount of Rs. 25,000 ahead of the price announcement on January 2, 2026 while customer deliveries will commence by the middle of next month.

The five-seater gets with a much stronger road presence thanks to its stretched footprint, now measuring 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width – making it the longest model in its class. The wheelbase is a generous 2,690 mm and it must be noted that both width and height have been increased. The exterior design follows Kia’s Opposites United philosophy and introduces the Digital Tiger Face and a black glossy grille with dark accents.

Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, ESC, ABS, hill-start assist, rollover sensor and rear occupant alert. The Level 2 ADAS suite brings 21 autonomous functions including forward collision warning and avoidance, lane keeping assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go capability, blind view monitoring and a 360-degree camera system. Under the hood though, the new Seltos continues with its familiar trio of engines.

The powertrain range includes a 1.5L NA petrol (115 PS/144 Nm), a 1.5L T-GDI turbo petrol (160 PS/253 Nm) and the 1.5L CRDi VGT diesel (116 PS/250 Nm). Depending on the engine, customers can choose between a manual gearbox, intelligent manual transmission, continuously variable transmission, seven-speed dual-clutch or a six-speed torque converter automatic.
