With the BE 6 and XEV 9e already launched, Mahindra will launch five more all-electric SUVs in the Indian market by 2030
Mahindra & Mahindra had earlier announced that it will introduce 7 new EVs in India by 2030. The company has already introduced the BE 6 and XEV 9e in the Indian market, which suggests that five electric SUVs are still to launch in the coming few years. In this piece, we will talk about the 5 upcoming Mahindra electric cars in India including their launch timeline, technical specs and expected price.
1. Mahindra XEV 7e

The three-row seven-seater SUV is expected to be launched during the Diwali festive season later this year in India. Essentially the all-electric version of the XUV 7OO, it was leaked online during one of the brand’s presentations. The XEV 7e will share battery, features and electric motor with the XEV 9e. It is expected to deliver a similar range on a single charge. The SUV will directly rival Tata Harrier EV, launching in the next couple of months, while likely to be priced between Rs 20-30 lakh (ex-showroom).

2. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
The XUV 3XO EV has been spied on camera multiple times during its test runs while going on sale in the coming 2-3 months. The all-electric XUV 3XO will be aimed squarely at Tata Nexon EV with prices starting around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be positioned below the XUV 4OO EV which comes with a 40 kWh battery pack. It will also get a 200mm shorter rear overhang than the XUV 4OO EV while equipped with a 35 kWh battery to return a driving range in the ballpark of 250-350 km on a full charge.
3. Mahindra Thar Electric

Mahindra Thar.e concept had its world premiere in 2023 at the brand’s FutureScape event in South Africa. The five-door version of the Thar EV was underpinning Mahindra’s INGLO electric skateboard platform which is also expected to spawn the all-electric models of the Bolero and Scorpio in future. Mahindra Thar electric could be offered with rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) configurations. It is likely to break cover in production-ready guise by late 2026.

4. Mahindra Bolero Electric
The all-electric version of the Bolero could be named as Bolero.e while it will use the INGLO electric skateboard platform. Sources tell us that the Bolero EV will not be developed on the ladder-frame chassis. Mahindra Bolero EV could feature a wheelbase in the range of 2775-2975 mm. For reference, the ongoing model of the Bolero SUV has a wheelbase of 2680 mm. It could be offered with two battery options of 60 kWh and 80 kWh with driving range of 300+ km and 430+ km, respectively, on a single charge. Expect a launch by mid of 2027.
5. Mahindra Scorpio Electric

The Scorpio will also have an all-electric derivative by early 2028 in the Indian market. It is likely to share the platform and battery pack with the Bolero.e and Thar.e in the Indian market. The current model’s wheelbase of 2750 mm could be extended up to 2950 mm for better legroom inside the cabin. Identical to the Thar.e, The Scorpio EV could also be available with both the RWD and AWD configurations. Mahindra could also export the made-in-India Scorpio electric to other countries such as South Africa and Australia.
