New Maruti 7-Seater SUV – Hybrid Power, Modern Features & More!

Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) recently confirmed two new SUV launches for 2025 – the e Vitara and the three-row SUV. The Maruti e Vitara will be the first electric offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker, set to hit roads by September. The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed name and details of its upcoming 7-seater SUV; however, it’s likely to be based on the Grand Vitara. In terms of pricing and positioning, the new Maruti 7-seater SUV will be a flagship model estimated to cost around Rs 15 lakh for the base variant and up to Rs 25 lakh for the top-end trim. It will be a Nexa exclusive offering, to be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki’s Kharkhoda facility in Haryana.

Here’s everything we know so far about Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming three-row SUV.

Hybrid Power:

The new Maruti 7-seater SUV will essentially be the extended version of the Grand Vitara. Therefore, both models will share platform, powertrains, design elements and features. This means, the Maruti Grand Vitara 7-seater SUV is expected to be offered with the same 1.5L mild hybrid and Toyota’s strong hybrid powertrains. Transmission choices will include manual and automatic units. It will also be available with 2WD and 4WD configuration options.

Modern Features:

Unlike the 5-seater Grand Vitara, the new three-row SUV will feature the Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) tech as one of its test mules was spied with a radar module. The safety kit of the SUV might also include 6 airbags as standard along with a 360 degree camera.

Aiming to offer a premium experience, Maruti Suzuki might equip the new 7-seater SUV with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a premium sound system and some more features.

What will be different?

Minimal changes could also be seen on the exterior. The new Maruti 7-seater SUV will surely be longer and more spacious than the 5-seater Grand Vitara. It might also come with the newly-designed alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, non-functional roof rails and connected taillamps.
