Royal Enfield is all set to enter the Indian electric two-wheeler market towards the end of this financial year (during January – March 2026). The Royal Enfield electric bikes will come under the brand’s new subsidiary – the Flying Flea. The company has planned two electric bikes – the C6 and the S6 – both of which are currently in the testing phase. The former will be a classic-styled motorcycle, while the latter will be a scrambler designed for both on-road and off-road riding purpose.
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 will be the first electric offering from the Chennai-based bikemaker in the country. B.Govindarajan, Eicher Motors Managing Director, has revealed that the Flying Flea brand will offer “urban and city-focused electric two-wheelers for the future, which is timeless yet modern technology and design, which is embedded into the motorcycle.”
Retail Strategy Under Discussion
The retail strategy for the upcoming Royal Enfield electric bikes is currently under discussion. RE is evaluating retail channel and approaches – whether to use the existing retail network, establish EV exclusive showrooms or go for a D2C (direct-to-consumer) model. The final decision is likely to be made by the next quarter (i.e. by September, 2025). Royal Enfield plans to invest over Rs 1,500 crore for its electric vehicle business, including R&D for EVs, design and development, manufacturing, and retail.
Eicher Motors & Stark Future Partnership For EVs
