Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be launched around September 2025 and it will boast a range of over 500 km per charge
The e Vitara from Maruti Suzuki, first revealed at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, is inching closer to its commercial rollout. Created around the purpose-built Heartect e skateboard architecture, the midsize SUV integrates over half its structure using high-tensile steel, bringing together crash safety and structural strength in a single package.
Set to be distributed through Nexa’s premium network, the e Vitara will carry a comprehensive features list. Highlights include a large touchscreen display, a full suite of six airbags, a surround-view 360-degree camera system, front ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof and 18-inch alloy wheels. The equipment list will also be bolstered by a Level 2 ADAS package, digital console and more.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will come in two battery choices – a 48.8 kWh setup and a larger 61.1 kWh variant. The latter is said to offer a claimed driving range of more than 500 kilometres per charge. Although the international-spec version is tipped to feature an all-wheel-drive system, the Indian-market model is expected to stick with a front-wheel-drive configuration only.

Colour choices for the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara are Opulent Red, Bluish Black, Arctic White, Grandeur Grey, Splendid Silver, and Nexa Blue, alongside dual-tone finishes such as Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver, Opulent Red, and Arctic White – all painted with a contrasting Bluish Black roof. Offered in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trims, Maruti Suzuki’s debut electric vehicle will support rapid charging, capable of topping up from zero to 80 per cent in approximately 50 minutes.
The base trim of the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is slated to feature the smaller 48.8 kWh battery exclusively. Buyers eyeing extended range will likely find the mid-spec and higher variants offering both battery options, allowing greater flexibility based on cost and usage needs. Additionally, a palette of single- and dual-tone exterior colour schemes is expected to be part of the lineup.

The same architecture will also underpin a Toyota-badged sibling, slated for unveiling before the calendar year wraps up. Production for both models will be handled at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, targeting domestic buyers alongside global export markets. Positioned as rivals to the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra’s born electric duo, etc.
