Mahindra XEV 9S is packed with upmarket equipment right from the base variant and is the brand’s first all-electric three-row SUV
Mahindra has officially taken the wraps off its new XEV 9S – announcing its entry into the electric 7-seater SUV space with a starting price of Rs. 19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO skateboard architecture, the XEV 9S’ flat-floor layout translates into massive interior space with Mahindra claiming over 4,000 litres of usable room across the first two rows along with a 527-litre boot and a 150-litre frunk.
A tight 10-metre turning circle and 205 mm ground clearance add practicality. Powertrain options are spread across three battery packs – 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh – paired with motors producing up to 210 kW and 380 Nm of torque. Mahindra claims a real-world driving range close to 500 km and a 0–100 km/h sprint time of just 7 seconds – making it the quickest electric 7-seater currently on sale in India.
Fast charging support allows the battery to charge from 20 to 80 per cent in under 20 minutes using a DC fast charger. On the inside, the Mahindra XEV 9S feels more like a lounge than a conventional SUV cabin. The dashboard features a futuristic coast-to-coast triple-screen layout powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset.
